Zeus and Zoe - Friends Canvas

Hi Girls,

I am back with my 2nd project for the month using some of the gorgeous items from my Zeus and Zoe vintage kit.
For this project I decided to create a canvas to give to my sister for her upcoming birthday in January.  I started by altering my canvas background with gesso, glimmermist and a mesh stencil which I masked with some old gold Viva Inka Gold paste.  I then added some gorgeous vintage lace to the corners which was in my kit.

My kit also had some beautiful pp and an envelope from which I fussy cut the floral elements.  I layered the flowers with a crochet doily, some lace ribbon, vintage buttons and heart and key charms and  finished off with a few rubons, some paper roses and a glittered chipboard title.

Scrapmatts - November Challenge & DT Call

Hi Girls,
I have a bit to share with you on this post as I have my DT reveal for Scrapmatts this month.  Christmas is nearly upon us... I can't believe how quickly the year has flown by... so in the spirit of the season, the lovely Jenny Garlick has a fab challenge for you "3 cards/tags in 30 minutes".  I also have a Christmas LO and for something different... a canvas.  Scrapmatts also has some exciting news... we are have a DT call!!!  So I hope you won't mind that this posting will be a bit lengthy.

All You Need Is LOVE
I have been dying to have some time to play and experiment with some mixed media, and this is what I created.   I decided to have some fun with a canvas and went to town with gesso, texture paste, mists and glitter on my background.  I love aqua and used this as the base for my canvas, then added white and silver for a soft and pretty feel.  I covered the chipboard Heart Sprays, Leaves and Butterflies with Inka Gold - old silver and green/yellow for a lovely metallic finish, then coated the butterflies with some stardust stickles.

List of Materials:  Scrapmatts Heart Sprays, Leaves and Butterfly chipboard, Canvas, Gesso, Texture Paste, Glimmermist, Glitter Glass, Stickles, flower recycled from necklace, Prima Hearts and blossoms, Green Tara paper flower, Anitas foil butterfly stickers, Viva Inka Gold, Heidi Swap stamp, Kaisercraft rubons,  Craft Queen prouduct:  satin binding, pearl embellishment and Kaisercraft Bingo Card stamp.

Challenge - 3 Cards/Tags in 30 Minutes
I have the new challenge for the month which is hosted by the lovely Jenny Garlick.  This month's Scrapmatts challenge is to create 3 Cards/Tags in 30 mins.  When I first saw the challenge I thought this would be difficult for me as I love to add a lot of detail to my creations.  I wasn't sure where to start, so I pulled out some of my Christmas stash to inspire me and that is when I came across some lovely vintage style Bo Bunny diecuts, which were just perfect... all I did was layer some matching paper under the diecuts, colour the Christmas chippies with Inka Gold metallic paste and some Stardust gelly roll pens, then sprinkled the cards with watered down gold paint and there you have it 3 simple cards in 30 mins!!  Check out the link HERE for details on how to enter.

List of Materials:  Scrapmatts Christmas Ornaments and Words, Holly, Santa With Reindeer and Snowflake chipboard, Bo Bunny Diecuts, Websters and Memorybox 6x6 paper, Stardust pens, Gold paint, Brilliance inks

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year
Still going with the Christmas theme, I have created a LO with an aqua/red/white colour combo for something a little different. The chipboard Ornate Frame was coated in texture paste then sprinkled with some clear micro beads and coated with stardust Stickles to create a snowy feel. Andrew has created some gorgeous new Christmas Ornaments chippies which I used to highlight the Ornate Frame and topped them with holly chippies. I used Inka Gold... love this stuff!!! and Stardust Gelly Roll pens to colour them, then coated the holly leaves with gesso and stickles to tie in with the frame.  To add to the Christmas feel I attached some cute red Christmas bells and a bit of twine.  I must give a plug to Monica Brady who has started a fab shop called The Trinket Track... the beautiful aqua bling hearts come from her store.  Pop on over and check out her blog to see some of her gorgeous creations.
List of Materials:  Scrapmatts Christmas Ornaments, Holly and Ornate Frame chipboard, Stardust pens,  LYB, Pink Paislee and Echo Park pp's, Black cs, Trinket Track bling hearts, Crafters Workshop stencil, red paint, EK Success border punch, Dienamics doily die, Cricut Snowflake Cartridge, Heidi Swapp diecut, Kaisercraft bling, Stickles, Christmas bells, texture paste, clear microbeads, Craft Queen bakers twine

OUAS - November Challenge Reveal

Hi Girls,

I have the new Once Upon a Sketch challenge for the month to share with you.

This month we have the usual fabulous sketch by Nadia, for inspiration, and the theme is:
Anything Goes
Yes! You read right.. No theme this month. You are free to create a layout based on whatever theme you like. You can journal as little or as much as you like, but your layout must include
SOME journaling AND the sketch below.
Please make sure that we see some sort of journaling on your layouts and please tell us where your journaling is.  Hidden journaling is perfectly fine.  Pop on over to the site and prepare to be inspired by the gorgeous creations from our super talented Design Team... don't forget there will be another reveal from the Design Team on the 15th of the month.

Don't Ever Change
For this challenge I decided to create a LO with a message to my daughter Brittany.  She has almost finished Year 12 and I am so proud of her.  She knows exactly where she is headed and what she has to achieve to get there, which I think is no mean feat at such a young age.  I love that she is so confident and ready to take on the world and all I can hope is that she doesn't ever change and that she will always chase her dreams.  I have added a tag on the left hand side with hidden journaling.  I would like to thank the gorgeous Irini Liolia  for sending me some of her beautiful handmade crochet flowers which are available from her Etsy shop Get Creative Embellishments.   I have used one of Irini's crochet flowers in the flower cluster at the bottom left of my LO.

List of Materials:  MME and Bo Bunny pp's, Scrapbook Fantasies ribbons, Get Creative Embellishments crochet flower, D'Lish Scraps wild roses, cherry blossoms and leaves, Craft Queen mini roses, MME chipboard, 7 Gypsies fabric tape, KandCo tag, Anita's foil butterfly stickers, Crafters Workshop stencil, Viva Decor Inka Gold, EK Success border punch, American Crafts alphas, Glitz Design alpha stickers, paint
