Scrapmatts - More Christmas Creations

This month at Scrapmatts the theme is still Christmas and I have a few creations to share with you.  Don't forget you still have time to enter Angella's 12 Days of Christmas challenge to be in the running for a $25 Scrapmatts chippie voucher.  Pop on over to the blog site for details.

Noel

As you may have noticed from previous projects I created last month, I am just loving the Christmas bauble chippies and I have used them on a LO this time.  They went so perfectly with the Fancy Pants pp, that I had to use them.  I used some stickles glitter glue and a pearl to alter them and topped them with a twine bow.  The sweet angel charming chain is handmade by Tracy at my2angels.

Poinsettia Christmas Tree

I'm sure you all know by know how much I love flowers, so when I got my hands on some of these cute poinsettia blooms I thought I would use them to decorate the fabulous Scrapmatts Christmas Tree OTP chippie.  I painted the tree green then coated with Jo Sonja Opal Dust and used some gold glitter glass to make the star sparkle.  To give an overall soft and pretty look, I backed the flowers with some distressed muslin and placed them randomly on the tree, then twined some strips of red tulle to fill in the spaces.

Christmas Robin Card

I used a gorgeous Scrapmatts frame for this card and just highlighted it with pearls and a pretty Christmas robin which I hand cut and layered, then added a Martha Stewart border punch around the card to tie in with the frame.

Joy Card

On this card I used the Joy chipboard words which I inked in gold.  I layered different flowers and added some berries and a gold button to make a beautiful focal point on the white card.

Bird Is the Word - Wonder

Hi Girls,

Well our family is currently on holiday in New Zealand, so I have timed this blog post and I'm hoping it goes to plan.  If I manage to get some computer time while I'm away, I will try and pop around and leave some love.

This fortnight's challenge at Bird is the Word is to use the word WONDER on your layout, card or OTP project as your title or part of your journaling...when you have your project complete, please link it up over on the right side of our blog and give credit back to Bird is the Word on your blog. The design team will vote at the end of the challenge. Five layouts will be chosen and the final winner will receive a prize kit from Tidbitz In Time. Pop on over to our blog site and check out all the gorgeous creations from our talented Design Team for a bit of inspiration.

There is also a sketch designed by the talented Mary Thomas (which is optional) to get your creative juices flowing.

The Beauty and Wonder of Nature

I was inspired to used another beautiful butterfly pic taken in my garden earlier this year.  After the floods, there were so many butterflies fluttering around, and I spent the whole week running around the garden trying to snap pics of them as there were so many different butterflies, that I hadn't seen before and this pic is one of my favourites.

I used the gorgeous Crafter's Workshop blossom stencil with some mauve paint and gesso for the background to tie in with the flowers in my photo.  I just love the doily chippies from Scrapware and used one to frame my photo, then trimmed it with some lace for a little texture.  I found a beautiful purple & beige doily a while ago at my local op shop and thought it was perfect colour for my LO.  Couldn't resist adding some Collections butterflies and paper blossoms, with a little muslin under the flowers to create a bit of softness to finish my page.

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving some love.  I hope you all have a fabulous Christmas and wonderful New Year :))

Santa's Lap

One of our Christmas Traditions is every year someone in my DH's family has to dress up as Santa and we ALL get a turn to sit on his lap.  There is always so much laughter and fun when Santa arrives, but I think the little ones have noticed that Santa looks a little odd!!

I used some Basic Grey Jovial pp... just adore this range, the flowers are perfect for fussy cutting and the colours are so delicious, so you will be seeing this range pop up on quite a few of my creations as I have been going to town with it!!    I have Kraft as my background and added some black paint splatters, then distressed and inked the edges to grunge it up a little.  The Santa bingo card is from Simple Stories and the gorgeous Christmas charm is a new range of Charming Chains handmade by Tracy at my2angels.

Celebrate The Good Times

As time is a bit limited for me with Christmas and our trip just around the corner,  I chose to make a quick and easy card using a MME 6x6 paper pad and some stamps also from MME.  The MME paper pads are gorgeous and fantastic for making cards... I'm totally addicted to them at the moment!!

Scrapmatts December Challenge

This month's challenge at Scrapmatts is all about the 12 days of Christmas.

On the twelfth day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me
Twelve drummers drumming,
Eleven pipers piping,
Ten lords a-leaping,
Nine ladies dancing,
Eight maids a-milking,
Seven swans a-swimming,
Six geese a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree!

The challenge is to create anything you like: card, ATC, layout, or even an OTP project. Base it around one of the days or if you want create the whole 12 days, just as long as it has a Scrapmatts chippie on the creation.  You have until the end of the month to enter and the winner will receive a $25 voucher to purchase some yummy Scrapmatts chippies.  Check out this link HERE to see what the amazingly talented Design Team created.

11 Pipers Piping

This is my interpretation of 11 Pipers Piping.  I found an old pic of Brittany on stage at her Year 5 Christmas Concert playing the recorder and thought it would go perfectly with this theme.  I used a Scrapmatts music frame which I backed with pp, embossed and highlighted with silver in, then used some Tim Holtz green stickles to make the frame sparkle.  I also used some of the Scrapmatts music notes chippies which I altered with red Tim Holtz stickles.  And of course had to add a yummy cluster of flowers to which I added some sweet snowflakes charms available from my2angels.

Scrapmatts - Christmas Creations

Well it's that time of the year, and hasn't it come up so fast... I can't believe Christmas is only a few weeks away!!!  This month the theme for Scrapmatts is everything Christmas and I've had such fun creating an OTP, some cards and a LO with the gorgeous Chrissy chippies which were sent in my parcel of goodies.

Christmas Lantern

I purchased this lantern last year with the intention of creating an OTP, but of course put it away and forgot all about it.  So when I came across it recently I decided I would create a Christmas Lantern with it and use it as a centre piece.   I love the colour red, so what better way to use it than on a Christmas project.  some gorgeous mulberry Poinsettias from my2angels, which came in a bag with red and white flowers in various size were the perfect embellishment and so yummy.  I fussy cut some flower sprays from Basic Grey Jovial which are one of my all time fav Christmas ranges and randomly poked in some berry sprays.   I made the Scrapmatts Christmas Ornaments sparkle with some Tim Holtz stickles in red and green and placed them in  amongst the flowers.  To finish off I added the Merry Christmas chippie words which I cut from the Christmas Scene chippie and altered with ultrafine white glitter.  Really love how this came out.

All is Merry and Bright

Adore the reindeer chippies... just love the curly antlers, and thought they would go perfectly with these pics of Brittany wearing some cute reindeer antlers!!  I embossed, inked and glittered them with stickles and used the little dangles from one of the new my2angels charming chains around the reindeer's neck.  The papers are from Girls Paperie Tinsel and Twig and I used more the the Basic Grey Jovial.  The gorgeous charm is made by Tracy at my2angels.  I took off the 2011 charm and made my own with some the Holly and the Joy Circle charms, also from my2angels.

Merry Christmas Card

For this card I used a 6x6 paper pad from MME.  I decided to use one piece of a Christmas Tree 3D Ornament.  I filled in the slot with a scrap of chipboard, but you could use cardstock, then covered it with some gorgeous Barbara Trombley's glitter glass in green and copper... so quick and easy.

Merry and Bright Card

Used the same MME paper pad with half of an Ornate 3D Christmas Ornament, which I cut in half and placed on the top and bottom of my background paper and again covered in glitter glass but used red this time.  I also used the reindeer chippie which I embossed, inked and glittered with some Tim Holtz stickles.

Happy Holidays Card

Again with the MME paper pad, and some LYB and Scenic Route pp's layered for the background.  I used the Santa's Sleigh and Holly chippies which I altered with some fine glitter in green and red.  The red rhinestone trim is available from my2angels.

Christmas Tags

Hi,

Still busy, busy busy, but I thought I do a quickie blog post to share these pretty Christmas Tags I made for a class.  Tags are great to have handy for those unexpected presents... just tie them up to a bottle of wine or attach them to some hand-baked goodies.

I used some shipping tags and a tag which I cut from my Cricut machine, then punched a border on the end of the tags to pretty them up.   I just love snowflakes, so I layered them with foam tape and used my Cricut, some punches and stickers, then inked, embossed and stamped them.

The background on the red was made with Tim Holtz Barn Door Distress Reinkers and and while wet I added some Perfect Pearls for a gorgeous glimmer.  The background on the green was done with some watered down Shabby Shutters Distress Reinkers and splattered with a paint brush.

Bird Is The Word - Trust

It's time for a new Bird the Word challenge... and the new word is TRUST. There is also a sketch (optional) designed by Mary Thomas to get the creative juices flowing.  Pop on over to the Bird is the Word blog site and check out the gorgeous creations from the talented Design Team.

To be in for the running for a yummy kit from Wendy atTidbitz in Time just use the word TRUST on your layout, card or OTP project as a title or in your journaling. Link up your entry over on the right side of the screen and give credit back to Bird is the Word on your blog. The DT will vote at the end of the challenge. Five layouts will be chosen and the final winner will receive a prize kit from Tidbitz In Time.

Trust Us We Don't Bite

I was looking through my photos trying to think of a different way to incorporate the word Trust for this challenge.  When I came across this Halloween pic of the kids and saw the look on their faces my title popped into my head.  Had a lot of fun mixing and matching different papers for the background and found some fab black open weave mesh in a Dollars and Sense store which I thought would add some grungy texture.

my2angels - Glitz Design

Hi Girls,

Sorry I haven't been around much lately, but I am super busy trying to get all my DT & Scrap commitments up to date before we leave for 2 weeks holidays to NZ in December.  So much to do and so little time!!!  I will try and get around to everyone during the week to check out all your gorgeous creations.. I promise!

I have a LO to share which I created with Glitz Design papers and embellishments which are all available from Tracy's store at my2angels, so pop on over and check out her fabulous new range of Charming Chains.. and snap up a few before they all walk out the door.

Classy and Fabulous

You girls should all know by now how much I love to mix ranges of pp's together and I knew as soon as I saw the Glitz Houndstooth, it would be the perfect background paper to go with the Authentique Uncommon Collection Unique pp which I hand cut and layered with foam tape, then added some stemmed flowers with a few rhinestones cut from the black rhinestone chain for flower centres.  I also added the gorgeous oval frame and double heart charms around the flower sprays.

The Scrapware lamp post was inked in grey and I lightly dabbed some Tim Holtz black soot ink over the top and added a couple of the new white pearls.  The little birdie was cut from the Echo Park sticker sheet.

To frame the photo I used the Glitz Polka, some corrugated card which I painted white and some black rhinestone chain.  I cut the Authentique word from the strip at the bottom of the paper and finished off with some of the stickers from the Glitz Titles stickers for my title and journaling.

A Few Sneaks
As you can see from my sneaks I have a few Christmas inspired LO's & Projects to share soon.

Christmas Card & LO Kit - my2angels

Hi Girls,

I have a fabulous kit to share with you today available from my2angels.  I had a lot of fun creating with this kit, as it's jam-packed full of papers from Simple Stories, LYB BG & Graphic 45, die-cut stickers, ribbons, charms and much more.  I managed to create 10 quick and easy cards (you get the envelopes too) and 3 LO's, with plenty left over.  The kit comes with full instructions on how to make the cards and LO's, or if you prefer to do your own thing you can use the kit to make your own LO's, cards or OTP for Christmas gifts.

Here are a few sneaks:

all of this for only $49.95 this works out on average $2.00 per card and $10.00 per layout ... AWESOME VALUE for a jam packed kit, but be quick as there are only 9 kits left.

A Little Toot
I was so excited this week when I got my hands on the latest issue of Scrapbooking Creations (issue 90) as I was featured as the Who's Who.. still pinching myself.  Here are a couple of pics from the mag.

my2angels - New Charming Chains

Hi Girls,

Was very excited to receive a couple of the new Charming Chains from the very creative Tracy at my2angels, so I decided  I would use one of  these yummy chains on a card for my little niece.

You Are 6

I have been itching to use some of the new Glitz Design Beautiful Dreamer papers and embellies and decided that the lovely card from the Whatnots pack would go perfectly with the pink and green charming chain.  I overlapped the whatnot card on top of some green pp and machine-stitched in pink, then added some words from the Echo Park Victoria Gardens alpha sticker sheet for my greeting.  I dangled the charm down the left side, but scrunched up the chain a little while gluing to shorten, and thought one of the cute silver girl charms would look perfect tucked under a bit of the chain.  Love the new wooden buttons and used one as the background for the number 6 which also came from the Echo Park alpha sticker sheet.  Finished off with a bit of cream flower lace which I threaded with some ribbon and a little flying bird charm on the top right.

Here are some pics of some of the chains that are available in store, with more to come over the next few weeks.   Pop on over to the store to purchase some of these beautiful embellishments, but be quick as I'm sure these will go out the door in a flash.

Silver Pink Rose Charming Chain

Black and Silver Love Key Charming Chain
