OUAS - May Challenge

Hi Girls,

I'm back from my Scrap Retreat, but have been a little under the weather since I got home, must be the change in the weather.  I didn't get as much done at the Retreat as I would have hoped, but I did catch up on some DT and scrap commitments.  I think I needed a little break, and it was so lovely to just catch up with the girls, have a chat and a lot of laughs.  I love seeing all the girls' beautiful work IRL, picking up tips and learning new techniques.  Krissy held a mixed media class, which was fantastic.. now all I need is some time to have a play!!  I will show you a few LO's and my canvas soon.

This LO for the Once Upon a Sketch Challenge this month was one which I started at the Retreat and finished at home.  The theme for the challenge was: MUM and you also had to use the accompanying sketch and add some journaling.

Mother

I have had this old photo of me and my mother for a while, but it needed quite a bit on altering in photoshop to get it to look halfway decent, but I was determined as this photo is very precious to me.   I hardly have any of me as a young girl and being with my mother, makes it even more special.  The photo was taken as my mother and I were coming off the boat into Australia having traveled from France and I must be around 3 years old.

Layered some Prima stash and Kaisercraft pp's with some Scrapmatts chipboard, and pretty much kept to the sketch.

List of Materials:  Prima, Kaisercraft, Bo Bunn, TPC pp's, Prima flowers and butterfly, Scrapmatts clock, leaves, sprays and word chipboard, Martha Stewart border punch, Kaisercraft Pearls, metal clock charm, recycled metal flower, Bella brad, Prima rubons, shipping tag, lace, twine, Tim Holtz distress inks, Versamagic inks, clear embossing powder.

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving some love.

Retreat Tomorrow - YAY!!!

Hi Girls,

So excited... I'm off to The Wicked Princess Scrap Retreat tomorrow and won't be back until Sunday.  So busy!!! I'm trying to get my gear ready and I can't decide what to pack!!  I am hoping to relax and chill out a bit while I'm away as I have had so much going on in the last couple of weeks.. can't wait to meet up with all the girls for some scrapping and lots of laughs.

I thought I would share this Engagement card I made for my nephew and his fiance.   I can't get away with purchasing my cards anymore as all the family expect a hand made one.  I am totally in love with the Prima Notecards... they are the perfect size for cardmaking.  I used one from the Almanac range and embellished it with a MME layered sticker and changed the little flag banner to read congratulations.  Then some flowers, pearls, rubons and a vintage crochet doily for a shabby chic look.

Congratulations

List of Materials:  MME pp, Prima Almanac notecard,  MME layered sticker, Prima Pearl flourish, Basic Grey pearl heart, MME rubons, Prima flower, vintage crochet doily, pearl buttons

See you soon.

Thanks for stopping by.

Berry71Bleu - Mother's Day Challenge

This month's challenge at Berry71Bleu, and is bought to you by the lovely Amanda Aveiro.  Here are the details:

In honor of Mother’s Day I am centering the challenge around your favorite quote/poem/song about Mother’s. Here are some examples, feel free to use them if you like!

*  A mother's love is patient and forgiving when all others are forsaking, it never fails or falters, even though the heart is breaking ~ Helen Rice
*  There is no way to be a perfect mother, and a million ways to be a good one ~ Jill Churchill
*  A mother holds her children’s hands for a while, but their hearts forever
*  All that I am or ever hope to be, I owe to my angel mother ~ Abraham Lincoln
*  Mother, the ribbons of your love are woven around my heart.
*  A mothers heart is a patch work of love.

Mother's Day Card

Here is my take on Amanda's challenge.  I decided to make a Mother's Day card with a quote as my sentiment - "God could not be everywhere, so he created mothers".  Had a go at making an easel card for something different as I thought it would showcase Marivic's gorgeous vintage tag.

Here is a closeup of Marivic's stunning vintage tag... all handmade with so many beautiful elements.

List of Materials:  Berry71Bleu tag, Glitz Design, Prima, TPC pp's, Scrapmatts chipboard, Martha Stewart border punch, Spellbinder tag die, Prima flower, 7 Gypsies stamp, Craft Queen lace trim, mulberry leaves and roses, pearl brads, MME journal tag, antique ric rac, Tim Holtz distress ink - vintage photo

We already have some amazing entries.  You've got to be in it to win it... check out the fantastic prizes for this month.

Scrapmatts - Free Choice

This month at Scrapmatts the Design Team had free choice, and I have 2 LO's and 2 cards to share.

Precious Moments
I have been meaning to get around to scrapping these pics for a while but had a bit of a mental block every time I would pull them out.  Unfortunately we didn't get too many good photos of Luke's Formal, but I did love these pics of Luke having a bit of trouble trying to tie the corsage on to his partner's wrist.  Thought I could get away with going a bit feminine on this LO but kept the colours masculine.  I used some Assorted Word chippies for my title and some Leaf chippies on the flower cluster.  I also used the Card Borders chippies to add a bit of dimension to my lacy border.

List of Materials:  Scrapmatts Assorted Words 07, Card Borders 02, Leaves 02, MME Lost and Found, LYB Twig and Kaisercraft pp's Manor House Creations flower, Petaloo blossoms, Mulberrry leaves and flowers, Crafter's Workshop stencil, Gesso, Glimmermist Jingle Bells, Craft Queen ribbon, Charms, Brilliance ink

Live Life
As you can see I love the MME Lost and Found range and have used this glitter paper as my background to go with my sunset pic of Brittany.  To add a little more glimmer I stamped the background paper with a script stamp in gold, and inked the Large Assorted Words, Floral Design, Butterfly and Lamp Post chippies in various shades of gold and copper.  I seem to be reaching for doilies quite a bit atm and layered some crochet and paper doilies with some gorgeous Prima and Petaloo flowers.  I also used an EK Success doily punch around my circle detail.

I thought I would enter this LO in the Scrapfit  Workout # 67 - Decorate with a Doily Challenge.

List of Materials: Scrapmatts Lamp Posts 01, Large Asst'd Words, Butterflies 03, Floral Design 04,  MME Lost and Found, Basic Grey Basics, paper doily, crochet doilies, Prima flower, Petaloo blossoms, Craft Queen mulberry rose, Prima Almanac notecard, EK Success border punch, Glimmermist Jingle Bells, Brilliance metallic inks,

Two Quick and Easy Cards

I whipped up 2 pretty cards by layering some Echo Park This and That papers and Prima Notecards, with some Australian Federation Corner chippies which I left raw (mist white).  On the green card I used some small Word chippies for my greeting and inked to match and on the pink card I used the Names Plates chippies under the die cut sticker for my greeting.  Chipboard is a fab way to add a little interest and dimension to your cards.

List of Materials:  Scrapmatts Australian Federations Corners 03 and 07, Name Plates 01, Words 26, Echo Park This and That 6x6 paper pad, Prima Almanac Notecards, Crate Paper diecut label sticker, Kaisercraft pearls, Versamagic inks

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Decided to use some bright and happy colours for this fortnight's word and managed to find a pic of Brittany smiling which is not an easy task.  Added heaps of layering and fussy cutting using some yummy paper from the This and That paper range from Crate Paper.. loving those flowers, and mixed in some pretty doily, lace and butterfly accents for a full-on girly page.

WW1 May Challenge

Hi Girls,

Well I thought I would have a little break from my DT commitments and take part in this month's White With 1 challenge. I decided on this challenge as I thought it would take me out of my comfort zone, but I didn't end up finding it difficult at all and love the combination of the cream and white.

The challenge at WW1 this month is:
White + Cream + Chipboard

Beauty is a Light in the Heart

I went through my older stash for this challenge and found some K and Co and Donna Salazar pp's which have a lovely old world distressed feel to them.  I masked a large paper doily with some wheat chalk ink to create a pretty lacy effect.  The gorgeous oval chipboard frame is from Scrapmatts and one of my all time favs.  It came in the creamy colour which was perfect for the challenge.  I added some vintage lace and muslin on the frame to keep in the with old world feel and also used some Prima lace around the oval background paper from Simple Stories.  I just had to add some Scrapmatts chipboard butterflies, which I altered with Picket Fence crackle medium and some extra fine glitter, then topped them with some pretty pearl accents.  Finished off with a beautiful Prima velvet flower spray and some mulberry leaves.

List of Materials:  KandCo, Donna Salazar and Simple Stories pp's, Scrapmatts chipboard frame and butterflies, Prima flowers, Pearls and lace, vintage lace, muslin, Crate Paper diecut sticker, Kaisercraft rubons,  paper doily, Versamagic chalk ink - wheat, Tim Holtz Picket Fence crackle medium, extra fine glitter - white, my2angels mulberry leaves

Thanks so much for stopping by :))
