Hi Girls,
Well I thought I would have a little break from my DT commitments and take part in this month's White With 1 challenge. I decided on this challenge as I thought it would take me out of my comfort zone, but I didn't end up finding it difficult at all and love the combination of the cream and white.
The challenge at WW1 this month is:
Beauty is a Light in the Heart
I went through my older stash for this challenge and found some K and Co and Donna Salazar pp's which have a lovely old world distressed feel to them. I masked a large paper doily with some wheat chalk ink to create a pretty lacy effect. The gorgeous oval chipboard frame is from Scrapmatts and one of my all time favs. It came in the creamy colour which was perfect for the challenge. I added some vintage lace and muslin on the frame to keep in the with old world feel and also used some Prima lace around the oval background paper from Simple Stories. I just had to add some Scrapmatts chipboard butterflies, which I altered with Picket Fence crackle medium and some extra fine glitter, then topped them with some pretty pearl accents. Finished off with a beautiful Prima velvet flower spray and some mulberry leaves.
List of Materials: KandCo, Donna Salazar and Simple Stories pp's, Scrapmatts chipboard frame and butterflies, Prima flowers, Pearls and lace, vintage lace, muslin, Crate Paper diecut sticker, Kaisercraft rubons, paper doily, Versamagic chalk ink - wheat, Tim Holtz Picket Fence crackle medium, extra fine glitter - white, my2angels mulberry leaves
Thanks so much for stopping by :))

ReplyDeleteOOPS sorry Cathy, I didn't copy you by using a scrapmatts chipboard, I totally forgot you used one for this challenge too... lucky it is a different one.. It is just that the scrapping convention is coming up in brissy soon and I thought i had better use some stuff I have had for years.. after I loaded my layout up I saw yours and thought oh no.. i hope you dont think I was copying you..... sorry I hope you dont mind...(those flourish frames are really beautiful aren't they...)
ReplyDeleteHi again.... after thinking about it for a while I have not entered my layout into the WW1 simply because I don't want anyone thinking I have copied you.. Your layout is so beautiful, and I don't really know what to do.. I look at so many blogs each week, and get so many ideas that I guess I do get some inspiration from others, but never do I on purpose copy anyone.. I just feel better this way.. I really love your work and respect you as a scrapper.. I hope I am making some sort of sense!!! thank you for understanding..
ReplyDeleteCathy your layout is stunning and I think I have that same flourish and never used it either. Can I just say that Lizzy is an amazing person and so very talented as well and we cant help it if we all have the same tastes. You are both very talented ladies and I am in awe of both of you.
