Scrapmatts - Spring Fever

This month at Scrapmatts the theme is Spring, which is right up my alley... gorgeous flowers & pretty butterflies and  lots of yummy colour!!  Pop on over and check out this link HERE to see some of the new chippies available.

All The Flowers

I have come across a gorgeous range of papers from Pion Designs which were perfect for this month's Spring theme.  The background paper has a beautiful violet design.. so pretty.  I was sent one of the new packs of  Ornate frames in my parcel and they are gorgeous, there are several sizes in the pack, starting from a 12x12. I painted my frame white and backed it with some pp then painted the insert purple, lightly sponging over with a creamy white to soften the colour..  I added some of the cute little microchips and inked them in green.

The gorgeous branch was part of my prize pack from Marivic at Berry Blue.  I cut it up and added some chipboard leaves which I inked in green.  I just love this birdcage chippie, it's one of my favs and I thought one of the microchips would be perfect as a chain to hang the bird cage.. a couple of pearls to make it look soft and pretty and a gorgeous Collections butterfly.

I have a thing for quotes and found this lovely one for my LO.. it reads "All the flowers of all tomorrow are in the seeds of today."

OTP Project - Peace

I found this lovely gift shop which has opened up nearby and they sell the most wonderful pieces which are perfect for OTP projects.  I covered this wooden item with one of the new Prima romantique pp's and altered the butterflies on the design with inks to suit my pp, then glossed  to make them stand out.  I can never resist adding the cute little Scrapmatts butterfly chippies  to my projects... I inked them, added a mini rose centre and gave them a romantic feel by adding bit of muslin underneath them.

Again I found a beautiful quote which I printed on some pp and framed with one of the Nested Shapes chippies to use as a frame for my quote, then topped it with some of the microchips.  The quote reads " The most valuable possession you can own is an open heart.  The most powerful weapon you can be, is an instrument of peace."  The Federation Corners with a couple of pearls were the perfect finishing touch.

A Couple of Cards

As well as selling gorgeous chipboard Sofie and Andrew sell some gorgeous paper tole products and I used these sweet little fairies on my cards.  They went beautifully with the chipboard frames and cute butterflies and of course the Pion Design papers.  You just pop the fairies out of the page and layer them with foam tape, which means no cutting and a quick and gorgeous 3-dimensional design.  The chipboard frames I used come in a whitewash colour and I just lightly inked the oval frame around the edges and added a couple of blossoms and on the square butterfly frame I used the gelly roll pens to colour the cute little butterflies.  The little butterfly chippies where painted white, stamped with a script stamp, inked around the edges and I added a stitched button centre for a bit of detail.

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving some love.. your comments really make my day :))

Bird Is The Word - You & Me

This fortnight's word (we have 2) are You & Me.  Please create your project using these words either as the title or in your journaling.  The winner will receive a fabulous kit from Tidbitz In Time. We also have featured winners who receive a blog badge from Bird is the Word.  Pop on over and check out the blog site to see the gorgeous examples from the Design Team.

You will be excited to see that the sketches are back starting with this challenge!! Mary is going to be our new sketch designer for Bird is the Word. Please remember that the sketches are for inspiration only...you are not required to use the sketch to participate in the challenge.

You & Me

I recently came across a gorgeous range of papers from Pion and have fallen in love with their beautiful shabby chic/romantic designs.  I have used one of their pp's for my background on this LO and decided to colour the wild roses with some distress stains which I watered down to match in with my coloured papers.. loved how it came out!!  Decided to go very feminine on this one and used lace and and a paper doily.  The cluster is made with Prima flowers and one of the new My Favourite Things rolled flower dies which are fantastic.  The beautiful butterflies chippies are from Scrapmatts.. I embossed and inked them and also backed them with some pp.  The little cherish word is also from Scrapmatts.  I was going through my massive stash and came across some very old K&Co envelopes and one of them matched beautifully with my papers... I altered it by using a sweet rubon verse from Prima and a gorgeous little badge which I received in my prize pack from Marivic at Berry Blue.

Marivic sells the most beautiful tags and kits, so pop on over and check out her etsy shop.  I have also entered this LO in Marivic's monthly challenge.  Here is the gorgeous inspiration pic for the challenge and the extra criteria was to add 3 handmade flowers, which were my MFT die flowers.

Sneaks

This month has been so hectic with DT work, and I have a few sneaks to share.   I'm so looking forward to slowing down a little, so I can take part in some challenges and just scrap for me.

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving some love, it really makes my day :))

my2angels - Bo Bunny Etc

This month at my2angels it is a masculine theme and I have 2 more LO's for you using the new Bo Bunny Etc. range which I loved working with and I was able to use these pics of DH which I have been wanting to scrap for a while.

Make sure you check out Tracy's store if you're looking for a BARGAIN, as she has added quite a bit of stock to her 20%, 40% and 50% reduced items.

A Quiet Moment

This was a quick LO using a piece of Prima Moulin Rouge and Bo Bunny Etc Watermark  for the background, which I distressed.  The Bo Bunny paper has a bit of a blue watermark pattern, so I decided to add to this by using the new Tim Holtz stains.  I used the Broken China stain to create some huge splats by smacking them down on my paper.. I have a close up so you can see how fabulous they look!! I then picked up some of the Vintage Photo and Mustard Seed stains (I dabbed them on a palette/plate) on a paint brush with some water and flicked them over the page.  I also used the Vintage Photo distress ink on the Scrapware antique alphas, then flicked some water over them to give them rustic look and did the same thing with the Scrapware flourish chipboard piece using some Mustard Seed and Vintage Photo distress inks. The circle design from the Bo Bunny sheet  was used to create a journaling spot and I added a little cluster of embellies made with one of  Tracy's larger roses.. I pulled out the centre and added a plaid brad which I dabbed with a bit of  Old Paper stain to give it an aged look, an  antique bronze round frame charm with one of the stickers from the Etc sheet as a background and layered a bronze timepiece charm on top, and also another of the stickers which was mounted on foam tape.

Life is Better in the Country

Layered quite a few of the Bo Bunny Etc papers here and also the Diecut for a monochromatic look.  I inked the edges of the diecut with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo and Walnut Distress Inks to make it pop a little, so it didn't just disappear. I used the Tim Holtz woodgrain embossing folder on one piece for a little texture and inked over with the Vintage photo distress stain and rubbed the stain with my finger while wet to give it a more blended look.  The cluster was made using some hand cut elements from the Bo Bunny papers, some Scrapware mini clock cogs which I inked with Black Soot distress stain, some skeleton leaves, Tim Holtz rosette die to make the cute flower, the oval antique frame charm with some paper for the background and layered the tree charm on top.  The title was made with the alphas from the Bo Bunny Etc sticker sheet and the Scrapware antique alphas which were stained with Vintage Photo and I used the same water flicking technique.

I still have a Graphic 45 ABC Primer LO and some cards to share so keep an eye out.

HBS - Guest Spot

Been very busy catching up with DT commitments, so haven't had a lot to share, but I can share this LO and card  created with the new Bo Bunny Welcome Home range of papers, which I received in my pack as   this month's Guest Designer for Handmade by Suzanne.

Carefree Moments

Created this LO using a patterned piece for my background and painted over with some watered down white paint to soften the colours a little.  I then layered, crumpled, distressed and inked some papers in blues and greens to contrast with the background paper.  As soon as I saw the paper with the bench seat I knew I had the perfect photo to silhouette as I had a pic of Brittany sitting on a bench seat on our verandah and the clothes she was wearing were the perfect colours.. looks like this photo was made for this paper.

The lovely cluster was made using some gorgeous Prima flowers and a Dusty Attic leafy stem chippie which I cut up and left raw.  I received some lovely blue binding ribbon in my pack and used it to make a scrunched ribbon bow and added one of the little Prima flowers for the centre.  Couldn't resist adding a Martha Stewart punched butterfly and topped it with one of the buttons from the Bo Bunny button pack.  The stickers are from the Bo Bunny combo sticker sheet and MME label stickers.

Cherish, Live Dream - Card

I made this quick card using a piece of the Dot paper as it had some lovely chandeliers and hand cut the frame from the reverse side of the Welcome Home paper.  I used a bit of muslin which I scrunched up in the corner and topped it with the cute Prima flowers and a gorgeous Manor House Creation blossom and used one of the buttons from the Bo Bunny button pack for my flower centre.  Again I punched some Martha Stewart butterflies with the small punch and added a pearl centre.  The greeting is from Kaisercraft Life rubons.  Loved how this card came out.

All these items except for the muslin are available from Handmade by Suzanne.

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving some love, it really makes my day :))

my2angels - Graphic 45/Bo Bunny

This month at my2angels is all about men and boys and with this in mind Tracy has 15% off everything in her Boys Section till 30th September and the new Graphic 45 An ABC Primer papers will be discounted to $1.60 until 15th September.

I've been having a ball using the new Graphic 45 An ABC Primer and Bo Bunny Etc. papers that Tracy sent me in this month's parcel of goodies.. the perfect papers for a grungy boy LO.

I have made a couple of LO's and cards with these ranges and will share a few of them today.

Check It Out

Graphic 45 papers are always fabulous for a grunge LO and I have used the ABC Primer Calico Kids paper and a book page under my pic of Luke's cute little butt (he's not happy about me scrapping this pic... ha ha ha).  The book page was inked with one of the NEW Wild Honey Tim Holtz Distress Stains which have just been added to the store.   The background paper is watermark from the new Bo Bunny ETC range which is another awesome vintage range and mixes beautifully with the Graphic 45.  You all know how I can't help but mix different ranges, so I have added a piece of Basic Grey Jovial Flannel Pyjamas under the Bo Bunny paper to frame it and add some contrast.  Even though this is part of a Christmas range the reverse sides of these papers make the most fabulous backgrounds.  I am always checking out the plain reverse side of pp's to use as my backgrounds and always stock up on old ranges when they are on special as I much prefer to use these than plain cardstock. Pop on over and check out this LINK as these papers are a great buy at 72 cents, but get in quick.

I used one of Tracy's handmade Love Pins, some stickers from the Bo Bunny etc sheet, a Tim Holtz game spinner and made a flower with the Sizzix Paper Rosette Die for my cluster and had to add one of these fab genuine vintage tickets which Tracy has in store at a bargain price of 10 for $1.20.  Couldn't create a LO without using one of Tracy's fab charms and I used the camera which I coloured with some Tim Holtz alcohol ink to give it an aged look.

The new  Tim Holtz Distress Stains are so versatile and I used Black Soot to colour the Scrapware chippie photo corners.. they are a fantastic product and I can't wait to stock up on all the colours.  Finished off with some black ric rac and some black paint splatters for a bit of contrast.

4 - Happy Birthday

Made a quick cute boy birthday card with some of the offcuts from the Graphic 45 An ABC Primer papers.  The base is the reverse of the building blocks.  I used some black cardstock which I embossed with the Tim Holtz music embossing folder and then cut around the little boy on the Happy Go Lucky paper, which I layered on top and then added a strip of the letters from the School Days paper.  I punched the no 4 from the ABC Prima paper with a circle punch and underlayed it with a larger circle punched piece of the tartan paper to make it a 4 year old boys birthday card.  The Happy Birthday greeting is from the Bo Bunny etc. sticker sheet.

Stay tuned as I have more cards and LO's to share with these gorgeous Bo Bunny and Graphic 45 ranges.

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving some love.  Your comments really make my day :))

I have chosen to make a card this for this fortnight's challenge using some of the new MME Lost & Found papers which I absolutely adore.  I added a little dress to the dress form using some tulle and Prima lace a bit of ribbon  mini roses to make a sash for the dress.  I used a couple of my fav chippies from Scrapmatts which are the cute little butterfly chippies and some Kaiser pearls for a bit more dimension.  My little verse for this fortnight's word reads " The moments we share are the memories we keep."

Scrapmatts Scraplift Challenge

It's Your Time to Shine

 Kim Ewins "Always Have Fun"

This month at Scrapmatts is a Scraplift challenge.  I had a lot of fun with this and chose to lift one of Kim Ewins' gorgeous creations called "Always Have Fun".  I loved all the textures and design of Kim's page.  I chose to create a similar texture with some 7 Gypsies Tissue paper and machine stitching and added some randomly placed Scrapmatts gears.  LOVE the large clock face chippie which I spritzed with chocolate and suede glimmermist and used this as a frame for my photo of Luke, then added more stitching around the clock face to give it some definition. The pattern papers are from the new Bo Bunny Etc range and the little clockfaces are from Bo Bunny Timepiece.

Click HERE for to check out some of the gorgeous creations from the DT and who they chose to Scraplift.  To be eligible, your creation MUST also have Scrapmatts on it.  The prize will be a $25.00 Scrapmatts gift voucher.

Members need to upload their entry into the normal gallery and just call it 'September Challenge' and we will move it into an album.

Hope to see some fabulous entries in our gallery!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving some love.. it really makes my day :))

HBS - Sketch Challenge

Tried to get a quick post done before meeting my sister this morning, but it didn't happen, she got here early. She was really sweet and took me out to lunch and shopping for my birthday today...  she thinks I need a time out from all the scrapping.. this month is super busy for me, and I am all consumed with DT & magazine work, but when the opportunities arise you have to grab them with both hands.  Hopefully all this work will make me a faster scrapper... I can only hope... lol!!  I've had such a wonderful day.. a yummy lunch, had a shopping fix and on top of that NO COOKING tonight.. what more could a girl ask for!!!

As Guest Designer for Handmade by Suzanne this month I thought I could combine using the gorgeous Bo Bunny Welcome Home papers which is the range I was sent in my parcel of goodies to play with, with this month's fab sketch challenge.  Can't wait to see some fab interpretations of the sketch in the gallery this month!!

I have used the Flourish paper for my background and layered some Bazzill Kraft c/s, Dreams  and Key papers which I distressed and inked with Tim Holtz brushed corduroy Distress Ink.  For the strippy bits on the sketch I used a recyled book page and some hessian.   The banners were made with Kraft c/s and some of the Family paper which I embossed with Tim Holtz collage embossing folder and curled them to add a bit of texture and dimension then glued the banners on to some twine.

Raw chipboard looks fabulous with these papers so I used some Dusty Attic chicken wire on my layers and the decorative frame #1 as a frame for my title.

I used the some of the elements from the sticker sheet and button pack as embellishments and the alphas for my title.  Other than the book paper, hessian and script stamp everything on this page is available at Handmade By Suzanne.  Pop on over and check out the store as Suzanne has plenty of new stock available.

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving some love.. your comments really make my day :))

my2angels - All Things Male

This month at my2angels is all things male.  Tracy's DS is turning 15 and to celebrate she has 15% off in the boy's section.  Pop on over and check out the store as Tracy has gorgeous new ranges from Echo Park, Graphic 45 and Bo Bunny in stock, and while you're there check out the new arrivals sections for all the new charms and goodies in stock.

Don't forget to check out September's Embellishment kit, it's gorgeous.  If you want to sign up for a fab 3 month subscription for only $55, be quick as there are only 4 of the next three-monthly  kits left.

In my goody pack this month Tracy sent me some of the fab new range Apothecary Emporium from Echo Park which is a Halloween range but is also a fab masculine range as the papers have a great vintage grunge feel to them.  I decided to scrap this pic of Luke taken last year when he participated in the City's annual Zombie Walk.  Don't ask me what it's for as I haven't a clue.. but Luke had a lot of fun getting into character, so I snapped a couple of pics.

Zombie Walk
For this LO I used the Emporium Full Moon and Spider Webs which I hand cut and splattered with red paint to look like blood and couldn't help but mix in a few other papers from Pink Paislee Daily Junque and Hometown Summer and I also used Teresa Collins On The Edg - tags to make the shield embellishment whish was hand cut, coloured and accented in Inkssentials Gloss.. the TC papers are on sale at the moment.  Tracy has some new charms available in store and I have used these fab  spider and snake charms as they go perfectly with this paper range and are a great addition to a masculine page.  The title was made with Scrapware antique alpha chippies which I painted red and added some Inkssentials crackle medium.  Keep an eye out this month as I will have a few more masculine LO's to share with the gorgeous new Graphic 45 ABC Primer range.

Beyond The Door

Always be True to Yourself

This month is another gorgeous room challenge from Beyond the Door.  Adored the colours and feel of this room and really enjoyed creating my LO for the month.

As you can see I was inspired by the beautiful colours of this month's room and used some Fancy Pants and Websters pp's with a painted background to create a soft dreamy feel.  The colours of Tracy's gardenias from my2angels were the perfect shade of purple and I couldn't resist adding one of her pretty little double heart charms to my flower cluster.

Go and check out the beautiful creations from the DT and be inspired... hope to see some fab interpretations this month.

Handmade By Suzanne Guest DT Spot

Was so excited and very flattered to be asked by Suzanne & Marelize at Handmade by Suzanne to be this month's Guest Designer.  I have been sent a gorgeous kit with the new Bo Bunny "Welcome Home" papers and lots of other yummy bits and pieces to play with.

Nature's Beauty

Here is the 1st LO I have created using the reverse side of Bo Bunny "Dreams" as I loved the beautiful overall pattern.  You have probably all noticed that I really enjoy mixing it up with different paper ranges, so I went through my stash and found some Websters Country Estate which I hand cut and some MME Good Day Sunshine for my background and they went together so beautifully with the Bo Bunny.  Everything I have used on this page is available at HBS except for the vintage music paper.  I found a quote which really resonates with me to use on this LO, it reads...  "The kiss of the sun for pardon.  The song of the birds for mirth.  One is nearer God's heart in a garden, than anywhere else on Earth."

Keep a look out during the month as I will have a few more LO's to share.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and leave some love.  Your comments really make my day :)))

It's a Gorgeous 1st Day of Spring!!

It's the first day of Spring and I'm happy!! I love that the weather is warming up and today is an absolutely gorgeous day.  We all know that the beginning of the month means new challenges and today I have the new challenge for Kraft It Up.

CHALLENGE: This month you need to create a layout using fabric and stitching.  This can be machine or hand stitching and your fabric can be anything from a lollipop flower, fabric ribbons, fabric strips or using fabric instead of paper it is totally up to you, please remember to use Kraft cardstock or patterned paper as your base. Check out the site for inspiration from our amazingly talented Design Team... can't wait to see everyone's spin on this challenge!!
Together - You and Me

Not sure if I like how this came out, but you all know how it is, sometimes it just doesn't come together quite how you want it.
I decided to used some Basic Grey patterned Kraft for my background and framed it with a pretty floral punched border and some machine stitching.  I used a few different fabric details on my LO... the heart is a piece of patchwork fabric from my stash which I bordered with some gorgeous lace.  I used some hessian, recycled doilies and some binding ribbon as well.  The word chippie is from Scrapmatts and the flourish chippie is from Dusty Attic.  I inked them to go with my colour combo and added a few sweet resin flowers and some Kaiser pearls to give the flourishes a more feminine look.  A few Prima flowers and a pretty heart charm from my2angels for some finishing touches.

A Little Toot
Was so excited to find out my DT LO for Scrapmatts  which I uploaded to the Websters gallery is being featured this week.. you can check it out HERE .
