GP Sketch #5

Breathtaking




This is my take on this month's sketch from Get Picky. Went for a soft look with some lovely pinks, blues and yellows for this LO using Pink Paislee, Fancy Pants and BG pp's with plenty of gorgeous Prima flowers & pretty lace. Really loving the Tattered Angels chalkboard mists as they have a lovely depth to them... used strawberry shortcake on this page. Finally managed to get this Pansy MS punch which I have been wanting for a while but it was never in stock.. just love it!! The butterflies are all Martha Stewart punches as well, which I topped off with some Kaiser pearls.

123 Feb Challenge


It's All About the Eyes

Really enjoyed this month's challenge at 123. This month's criteria is:

Colour: Cream Word: About Technique: upcycling "The practice of taking something that is disposable and transforming it into something of greater use and value"

Thought I would struggle with this one as I am not really a neutral girl and I love colour, but this LO came together quite quickly for me. The items I upcycled were several different doilies, some gorgeous vintage lace which was a lucky find at a flea market recently, some old buttons, corrugated cardboard and a book page. I also used the book page to make my little handmade flower on the side of the frame.

I went through my stash and found some old MME journal spots and the lovely frame for my photo. The butterflies were cut from some Websters paper and that gorgeous flower is Prima. I purchased them at a bargain basement price and love them, so you may have noticed them on a few LO's recently.

Stuck Sketches 1 Feb

Soar


Still feeling a little off colour, so haven't been scrapping much at the moment, but I did finish the Stuck 1 Feb sketch using some of the new Echo Park Be Mine pp's. The butterfly chippie is from Scrapmatts and the punch borders are from Martha Stewart.

I recycled the black ruffled ribbon from some clothing and the ribbon rose was purchased overseas. The quote at the top reads : "Keep your feet on the ground, but let your heart soar high as it will."

HBS Feb Sketch Challenge


Wired For Sound

This is my 1st time entering a challenge at Handmade by Suzanne. Decided to create a LO for the Feb Sketch and tried to challenge myself by using banners on a teenage grunge boy page. Was stumped at first and was going to use music notes for my banner, but it didn't quite do it for me.

I was looking through my massive amount of stash and came across these old Adornit twill alphas which were just perfect for a banner and went beautifully with my selection of pp's. I used a mix of Pink Paislee, Glitz Design, 7 Gypsies & Crate Paper, some BG embellies, Tim Holtz and Imaginise stamps and a fab Twidleybitz skull chippie.

Came across some old mesh which lends itself well to a grunge LO. The alphas on the banner were attached to some black cream and red twine which I knotted between each alpha. Finished off with some machine stitching and distressing.

TCR #45


Adore

Been a bit under the weather the last few days, but I had this LO for The Colour Room on my desk and had to finish it. The colour palette was so pretty this week and they went perfectly with these pics I took of Brittany with the most divine fuchsia Bougainvillea in the background. As you can tell with most of the photos I take of Brittany, I love having flowers in the background. When I see something gorgeous flowering in the neighbouring streets I drag Brittany out for a photo shoot, much to her dismay. But even though she's not keen, she does it for me, cause she loves her mum!!

I had a bit of trouble at first trying to find papers that I liked together, but after a little bit of fussing I ended up using some Bo Bunny, Fancy Pants & Prima. The border is a Martha Stewart iron fence punch and the flowers are Prima with LYB stickers. I recycled the Prima packaging for the white doily embellishments and finished off with some BG & Glitz Design rubons and plum glimmermist.

Craft Queen DT Guest Spot

So Handsome


Recently Nicole from Craft Queen invited me to create a few LO's and cards for a guest DT spot to feature her ribbon club this month. I was so happy to be asked to create a few more LO's & cards as a guest DT member and use some more of her gorgeous ribbons and embellies.

Here is one of the LO's I had a lot of fun making with the parcel of yummy goodies she sent me. I used some Websters, BG & Collections pp's with an old music sheet to create a distressed LO with a vintage feel which went so well with the beautiful metal embellishments. Nicole is also selling some fabulous binding ribbon in four colours which is you can use to add a lovely texture to your pages and cards by lightly spraying with water and crumpling the ribbon. I used some black ribbon on this LO. Pop on over and check out her store, she has a fantastic range of gorgeous ribbons and embellishments.

Show Us Your Stuff - Feb

Theme Challenge - Love You


This month's theme challenge at SUYS was to create a layout, card or OTP based on love. It can be any type of love, but you must include a handmade heart on your creation. Go and check out all the gorgeous creations from the DT and entrants for some inspiration.

Had some recent pics of me and DH which I quite liked, just perfect for a Love LO. I made a huge heart with some tissue paper with I scrunched up. I added some small doilies which I cut from a larger piece and put a pearl centre in each one, and trimmed it with some vintage trim which I found at a flea market. I spritzed the heart all over with some gold sheer shimmer spritz from Tsukineko. It's really pretty, but doesn't show up well in the photo. The pp's are from Websters which I hand cut and layered and the background pp is from MME.

Bons Feb ROTM


Just Love to be Me

Have been working on some CT LO's so haven't a lot I can show at the moment, but here is a LO I have created for Bons Scraps Room of the Month Feb challenge. Wasn't sure about this at first and I had to leave it for a day. That seemed to do the trick as I managed to pull it together into something I was happy with.

This room has fabulous colours for a male LO and I thought a pic of Luke dressed for his semi-formal last year would be perfect. Used some BG, Cosmo Cricket and Kaisercraft pp's with a mix of embellies . The binder punch is from EK Success and one of my favs to use on male LO's. I also LOVE my Tim Holtz grunge stamps so and used one on some acetate in top left corner. Finished it off with some stitched buttons and of course some paint splats.

Scrap the Girls - Feb Challenge

Your Smile



Enjoyed using this simple sketch for STG's. Quite like the texture you can create with tissue paper and I found this gorgeous black and white tissue which I thought would go perfectly with my pics of Brittany. The pp's for the background and hand cut flowers are Glitz Design Hoopla. I used some yummy Prima lace, butterfly and blossoms and a couple of doily centres. The border around the LO was made with MS iron fence punch, and bordered it with a bit of machine stitching. The MME rubon quote reads "Sometimes your joy is the source of your smile but sometimes your smile can be the source of your joy".

Craft Queen Guest DT Spot

Ribbon Club - Guest DT Spot

I was so excited to be asked by the lovely Nicole over at Craft Queen if I would like a guest DT spot for her Ribbon Club, and of course I said yes!! Can finally share these LO's and cards which I had a lot of fun creating. I received a gorgeous pack of ribbons and yummy bits to work with... just LOVED the colours... right up my alley. Nicole asked if I would like to create a few more LO's, so I have something to share with you next month as well.

The Colour Room #42

Almost didn't used this palette, but decided to push myself. I struggled a little at first, but once I decided to use a Pink Paislee resist paper it came together beautifully. Had fun misting with lemon meringue and timeless lilac. I also misted the lace and butterflies with demin. I used a white crayon to resist the butterflies for a softer look and finished off with some Websters lace, a few blossoms, some K&Co embellies and a SL alpha title.
