TCR 21 - Everyday Beauty

Loved the bright colour on this palette.  I decided to use the sketch on this palette but not too closely.  I used some Prima, Fancy Pants and Basic Grey pp's which I hand cut and layered, then added some bling, glitter and glimmer mist for extra sparkle.

Some Last Minute Challenges

Scrap the Boys

Trying to catch up on some challenges for the month.  Just finished this one for Scrap the Boys 1st Aug challenge.  You had to use flowers or show a feminine side on your LO (or both).  I don't usually have flowers on my boy LO's but I used some bright colours and a pic of Luke when he was 2, so the flowers look really sweet on the page.

Used Basic Grey basics on the background & scraps from Kaisercraft, MME, Scenic Route & Cosmo Cricket on this LO.  The flowers are from Prima and I added button centres, a little bit of pom pom ribbon, ric rac and a  little cut out from the Basic Grey Oliver range... love this boy range... for added cuteness.

Scrap the Girls

This one is for Scrap the Girls and the challenge was messy.  You had to have a messy theme and some messy paint.  I chose some recents pics of Brittany with messy hat hair.  Couldn't find any photos for this theme so I grabbed my camera and while Brittany was sitting on the computer I ripped off her beanie and snapped some pics.... she wasn't very impressed.

Used some Dream St, Bo Bunny & MME pp's with a floral KI Memories cut out which I painted black then stitched some buttons for flower centres.  I splattered some red paint on the background paper for the messy paint and finished off with some machine stitching.

I'm Back

Been out of action for a while.  The family has been battling the flu... pretty nasty... but we're all better now.  Have been getting scrapping withdrawal symptoms.  Got back into it with a with this LO for 1,2,3 Challenge.

The challenge for August was to use the colour: Yellow, Technique: Misting and the Word: Sunshine.  Found a lovely pic of Brittany at the beach, soaking up the sunshine.  I used a KI Memories Hula Lace Cardstock paper as a mask with Sunflower glimmermist for my background.  The title says "turn your face towards the sunshine and the shadows will disappear" made with dymo and rubon.  Basic Grey and Collage Press pp's with a Martha Stewart punches and some ribbons and lace for a bit of texture.

Challenge Heaven - Word Challenge

This challenge was done at the beginning of the month and I had quite a bit of fun with it.  The word you had to use was "Two" and you also had to add a banner/bunting somewhere on your LO.    Found this old photo of Luke and Brittany when they were little.... they were so cute!!  Used some bright October Afternoon, Scenic Route & My Little Shoebox pp's.  As the title was "two peas in a pod" I cut out the pea pods from the pp to make my banner then added a cute little cluster.

YAY!!! - Challenge Wins

Very excited to have my LO's chosen for the Kraft It Up  and 1,2,3 Challenges for July.  I love these challenge sites... the talent on these sites is absolutely amazing.  I won a $15 voucher from Scrapbooking from Scratch for the 1,2,3 challenge and a $20 voucher with free postage from Handmade by Suzanne for the Kraft It Up challenge... bring on the shopping.

These were the LO's.

Sweet Thing - MAS Challenge

First of 4 challenges for the month of August at Mad About Scrappin. The challenge was to use Kraft CS, 3 bright colours and some doodling. I love using bright and bold colours... for this LO the 3 colours I chose were aqua, red and yellow. I took some fab photos with the kids last year and this was one of them... there was as huge billboard advertising a lolly shop which made a fantastic background with all those different coloured jellybeans.

I find it a bit scary adding doodling to my LO's... if you make a mistake it's a real pain. I hated my first attempt so I turned my page over and started again. I love using paint at the moment, so I added a bubble wrap background in white with a touch of aqua. I doodled around the page and also doodled around some of my layered strips and flowers. The flowers have doily centres with some gorgeous fabric ladybug brads from K&Co. Used a few border punches from Martha Stewart and also some cute bee rubons from October Afternoon. The pp's used were MME, Sassafrass Lass & My Little Shoebox.

YAY!! - Runner Up Prize

So happy to be chosen as Runner Up for From Screen to Scrap for July. I had fun creating this LO. The poster for July was "Sherlock Holmes". This was my winning entry.

This is the prize... a fabulous pack from A2Z Scraplets... gorgeous aren't they!! Thanks so much Shazza :)

The Colour Room #17

Thought I better get a move on for August Challenges.  I have become so addicted that I have to pace myself to get them all done.  First up is TCR#17.  This was a bit out of my comfort zone as I do prefer brighter colour palettes.  Had a struggle trying to find pp's, then I came across the Basic Grey Wisteria pp and I knew I had to use this on my LO.  I ended up using some older Basic Grey Porcelain & Lily Kate and the Basics for the background & a bit of Websters for the corner of the frame.  Did a bit of hand cutting on this LO as it's one of my favourite things at the moment.   The clear frame overlay and rubons are from MME.  Finished with a touch of lace and some pearls.

KIU - August Challenge

This month at KIU you had to use Kraft of course and the colours green, yellow and black.  Had fun with paint and stamps on this LO.  Decided to use the bubble wrap with black paint for background with a few random dots of green.  I then painted some chipboard numbers in yellow and stamped over the top with an Inque Boutique stamp.  The green circles are from a Prima pp which I splattered with paint, attached some Scrapmatts cogs then topped off with yellow punched circles with little Kaisercraft rubons.  I stamped around the edges of my LO  and around the  green pp with Technique Tuesday Borderline Industry stamp set.  This is a fabulous grungy male stamp set.  As they title is "You at 16" I used the same chip numbers for the 16 and covered them with Prima foiled pp then outlined in black to make them stand out.
