Scrap The Girls - November Challenge

Hi Ladies,

Today I have a LO to share created for this month's Scrap The Girls Challenge, which was to use the quote - "Friendship isn't a big thing - it's a million little things".

Brittany has been friends with Laura since they were 3 years old at Kindy.  They were friends all through Primary School and went to different High Schools, but still remained close friends and now at 18 they attend the same University, so they get to share the beginning of adulthood together.

I love how this page came out, and had fun with the background.  I found the perfect flowers to go with the Bo Bunny pp from my Manor House Creations stash and teamed them with one of my favourite Kaisercraft wooden embellishments, the lovely berry branch.

Product used:  Manor House Creations flowers - vinettes, wild orchid, Oh la laa, Bo Bunny pp and diecut sticker, corrugated cardstock, vintage music paper, Kaisercraft leaf stencil and wooden embellishment, Prima butterfly stamp and textured alpha stickers, WRMK leafy flower stamp, Luminart pigment powder - olive vine, gesso, Tim Holtz Distress Ink - tea dye, cream cardstock, Craft Queen script washi tape.

Thanks somuch for stopping by, your comments make my day.

Manor House Creations - Shabby Chic Cards

Hi ladies, Cathy here with 2 shabby chic cards to share created for Manor House Creations, inspired by the season of Spring.

On this Thank You card I altered the Rue flower with a touch of  gesso, then added a small resin rose to the centre.  I accented the middle of the ivory shade flower with some Luminarte pigment powder mixed with water.

On my Each and Every Day card I altered the white sunflower by applying some Luminarte pigment powder mixed with water to the ends of the petals.  I then pulled out the stamens and replaced them with a Prima bling embellishment.  I also brushed some Luminarte pigment to the centre of the teeny weeny roses.

Prima PPP and Manor House Kits Available to Public!!

Hi Ladies,

I have the Prima Product Pick Challenge for November to share, combined with a tutorial from Shirel Studio Pop and Colour Online Workshop from Stephanie Schutze.

I had so much fun creating this LO.  The mixed media tutorial from Stephanie was fabulous. With so much Prima product at home, I thought creating for their challenges might be a good way to make a dent in my stash.

For this LO I have used another gorgeous photo of my nephew's fiancee, which was taken by professional photographer Mick Delaney.

Manor House Creations - Believe Collection Layout

Hi Ladies,
Cathy here, with a another LO to share created using the gorgeous new Spring 2013 range from Manor House Creations.   Click on the Manor House link to see more gorgeous creations from our super talented Design Team.
Love Life
Photography by Mick Delaney

I was inspired by 2 of the pp's from the new "Believe" collection which I altered with some misting and masking.  I wanted to create warm Autumn tones to accent this beautiful photo of my nephew's fiancee.
I adore the new lacy Ballerina flowers and used one in cream as the focal point in my diagonal flower cluster.  I layered in some of the vintage Oh la laa flowers and tucked in a few of the Blossoms, which I altered by adding in some stamens.

To create my title element, I misted a white ornate flourish frame in green, fussy cut an element from the Dreams Come True pp and topped it with a Believe flexible word in black.  As the end of the frame was going to be covered with flowers I decided to cut it off and use it with one of the Believe Blossoms on the left hand side of my page.

Manor House Product
Papers: Believe Collection - Make Believe, Dreams Come True
Flowers: Ballerina - classic mix, Oh La Laa, Blossoms – Believe, Cottage Garden

Manor House Creations - DT LO Spring 2013 Range

Hi Ladies,
I can't tell you how excited I was when I received my massive box of goodies from Nerrida at Manor House Creations.  It felt like Christmas when I opened my parcel and saw all the gorgeous flowers and fabulous new "Believe" paper range.  Today I have a LO to share using some of the new product from the Spring 2013 Collection.
Dare to Dream Big

The trellis paper with the centre frame "Us Together" immediately popped out at me when I first saw the new Believe range, and inspired me to create this LO.  I started by trimmimg it down a little around the edges, cut out inner part of the frame, then backed it with a piece of the "Dreams Come True" pp which I masked with a Prima Stencil and gesso, then highlighted with some Luminarte pigment powder.
I love to grunge up my edges, so I punched, distresssed, inked and stamped the edges of the paper and used the reverse side of the "Lace" pp to create a contrast border.   To add a pop of colour I painted the blossoms from the trellis design with Fuzzy Peach Luminarte pigment powder mixed with water, which has a lovely shimmer (it's a not easy to see in the pics), then added another layer of stamping in pink around my edges.
To tone in with the black and white pp's, I altered my photo to black and white and framed it with one of the new ornate scallop frames in black.
Now the flowers - which are all from the gorgeous new Spring range.  I used the pink vinette, these are very versatile as you can cut them up to fit in with your design, the black tea roses and Floral Mix Arielle clustered around the photo and also a smaller cluster on the right.  To add some sparkle I coated the edges of the pink Arielle flowers with diamond dust.
And finally the title, where I used the new flexible words in black.  There are also other words available in black and white.
Manor House Product:  Believe papers, Ornate Scallop Frame, Flexible Word - Dream, Pink Vinette, Black Tea Rose, Floral Mix Arielle

Other Product:  Prima mask, Viva Croco Crackling, Martha Stewart border punch, Green Tara velvet leaves, Kaisercraft flutterbye stamp and bling, Prima rose stamp, Gesso, Luminarte fuzzy peach pigment powder, Diamond Dust, Black glimmermist, Prima vintage pink ink, Tim Holtz distress ink black soot, muslin

Once Upon a Sketch - November Challenge

Hi Ladies,
It's the beginning of a new month and I have the challenge for Once Upon a Sketch to share with you. Click on the OUAS link for rules and details of the challenge and be inspired by all the gorgeous creations from the Design Team and Guest Designers and while you are there check out the fabulous prizes up for grabs from our amazing sponsors!!

The theme for November is:
MY HAPPY PLACE
You are free to interpret our theme ANY WAY you like. It is for your inspiration and this theme word DOES NOT need to be part of your title or journalling. But please make sure your layout is based on the sketch below and includes journalling (hidden journalling is fine). Acceptable journalling is MORE than just a sentence, or generic writing such as date/place etc. It needs to be present and at least 3 lines long. Remember, hidden journalling (under a photo/tag or behind your page) is perfectly fine but please DO let us know in your post where your journalling is!

For my take on the challenge, the first thought that came into my head was the joy I receive from looking out of my kitchen window at the moment.  We are lucky that 2 of our neighbours bordering on our backyard have Jacaranda trees which are in full bloom, and it is the most beautiful sight of gorgeous mauve flowers against a bright blue sky with a hint of green foliage.  Every time I look out my window, it never fails to make me feel happy.

I have hidden my journaling on the manila tag under the Imaginarium heart chippies.

List of Materials:  Prima, Pink Paislee, Kaisercraft pp's, Imaginarium Designs chipboard hearts, Crafter's Workshop and Prima stencils, Manor House Creations flowers, Prima flowers and lace, Tim Holtz washi tape, Viva Decor Croco Crackling and Precious Metal Paint, Gesso, Lilac glimmermist,  Martha Stewart pansy punch,X-Cut border punch,  manila tag, Craft Queen tiny twine, Trinket Track bling circle, Kaisercraft bling, Butterfly stickers, Carolee Creations tiny alpha stickers, SEI clear alpha stickers
