Dusty Attic February DT Creation - Picture Perfect

Hi everyone,
Cathy here today sharing a rustic, romantic inspired layout using gorgeous chipboard and stencil designs from The Dusty Attic.

"Picture Perfect"
I adore this photo of my nephew's wife taken by a professional photographer.  The rustic setting and colour tones go beautifully with her gorgeous red hair!!

I used two of the Dusty Attic stencils on my background.  One of the sprigs from the Wildflower Stencil #2 was used to create a bit of depth to my flower clusters.  I used texture paste and when throughly dry, outlined the sprig with a brown fineliner pen to match the tones in my layout and make them pop.

I also used the Chicken Wire Stencil over the top of my misted and stamped background.  I used a mix of pink and white Liquid Pearls to tie in with the pink blossoms.

To alter my chipboard pieces I first coated them with gesso, then coated them with soft pink and white Liquid Pearls.

Dusty Attic February Mood Board Challenge - Vintage Grunge Layout

Hi everyone, today I am sharing my take on this month's gorgeous Mood Board Challenge at The Dusty Attic.

"What Makes You Different Makes You Beautiful"

This month's Mood Board does come across as masculine, but I was inspired by the leather bag with the buckles, the vintage elements and the colour palette and went for a feminine vintage/steampunk grunge layout, just to show you that you can interpret and be inspired by the Mood Boards in so many different ways and not necessarily with the obvious.

Because we have so many amazing entries each month and it is so difficult to pick just one winner, there will now be TWO winners who have the chance to win a $AU50 Dusty Attic Prize Voucher to spend at the Website.  All you have to do is use the Mood Board as inspiration and make sure to add some Dusty Attic chipboard/products to your creation, then link it up to the Dusty Attic blog on the top right hand side... good luck!!

I love to add texture to my layouts by playing with different mediums.  I used quite a few different paints and textured items to alter my chipboard and metal elements on this layout.

The doily chipboard piece was altered by coating with Colour Blast Paste - Leather, then randomly applying the gold paint from the Prima Patina Effects and finally randomly applying Prima Copper Glitter Glass with Clear Gloss Varnish for a secure hold.

The clock and elegant pearl chipboard pieces were altered by coating with Adirondack copper paint, then randomly applying Cosmic Shimmer Autumn Leaves Gilding Flakes.

I used the Beautiful Life chipboard pieces as part of my title by cutting off the "LIFE' section, then coating the word with Colour Blast Leather Paste and randomly applying Prima Glitter Glass.

Copper paint and a touch of Gilding Flakes around the edges were used to alter the #5 chipboard tab.
