Dusty Attic February Mood Board Challenge - Vintage Grunge Layout

Hi everyone, today I am sharing my take on this month's gorgeous Mood Board Challenge at The Dusty Attic.

"What Makes You Different Makes You Beautiful"

This month's Mood Board does come across as masculine, but I was inspired by the leather bag with the buckles, the vintage elements and the colour palette and went for a feminine vintage/steampunk grunge layout, just to show you that you can interpret and be inspired by the Mood Boards in so many different ways and not necessarily with the obvious.

Because we have so many amazing entries each month and it is so difficult to pick just one winner, there will now be TWO winners who have the chance to win a $AU50 Dusty Attic Prize Voucher to spend at the Website.  All you have to do is use the Mood Board as inspiration and make sure to add some Dusty Attic chipboard/products to your creation, then link it up to the Dusty Attic blog on the top right hand side... good luck!!

I love to add texture to my layouts by playing with different mediums.  I used quite a few different paints and textured items to alter my chipboard and metal elements on this layout.

The doily chipboard piece was altered by coating with Colour Blast Paste - Leather, then randomly applying the gold paint from the Prima Patina Effects and finally randomly applying Prima Copper Glitter Glass with Clear Gloss Varnish for a secure hold.

The clock and elegant pearl chipboard pieces were altered by coating with Adirondack copper paint, then randomly applying Cosmic Shimmer Autumn Leaves Gilding Flakes.

I used the Beautiful Life chipboard pieces as part of my title by cutting off the "LIFE' section, then coating the word with Colour Blast Leather Paste and randomly applying Prima Glitter Glass.

Copper paint and a touch of Gilding Flakes around the edges were used to alter the #5 chipboard tab.

Dusty Attic August DT Creation

Hi Everyone,

Today I am sharing my Dusty Attic project for this month using a few gorgeous Chipboard and Stencil Designs.

I recently purchased a few new colours to add to my stash of metallic pastes, which I love to use to alter my chipboard pieces and was inspired by the them to create my layout.  They are very easy to apply and give the most beautiful shimmery finish.

To create my background I used the Damask #2 Stencil Design with Decoart Champagne Metallic Lustre.

For some texture and depth I watered down a bit of Dusty in Colour Clear Gloss Varnish, which I randomly flicked around my stenciling.  I then sprinkled over the gloss varnish with a mix of copper glitter glass and microbeads and removed the excess.

The Clockworks SmallHappy and Mini Tabs #3 chipboard pieces were coated with Champagne Metallic Lustre and the Doily #10 and Foliage #7 were coated with Rose Gold Metallic Lustre.  To add more shimmer and depth, I randomly applied Cosmic Shimmer Gilding Flakes in Egyptian Gold which is a mix of copper, silver, gold and a touch of burgundy flakes... simply divine!!!

The Mini Tabs #3 is one of the new release chipboard designs.  Pop in to the Store to see all of our beautiful new designs.
