123 Feb Challenge

Hi girls,

Well when I saw the criteria for the 1,2,3 Challenge for this month, I knew I would have to fit this one in, and just in the nick of time too.  I LOVE the colour fuschia, and fraying and frills are right up my alley for a girly page.

I used the title Fresh Faced Beauty,  frayed some muslin under my fussy cut flowers and I used some doilys for the frills
the word/s are: FRESH or FREE
the colour: FUSCHIA
the technique: FRAYING or FRILLS

Fresh Faced Beauty
At 16 my DD Brittany is still not in the least bit interested in makeup, but with a face like that she definitely doesn't need it.  I used the title Fresh Faced Beauty,  frayed some muslin under my fussy cut flowers and used some doilies for the frills.

Materials Used:  Bo Bunny Beau Jardin pp; Prima Madeline pps, paper doilies, Scrapmatts chipboard frame, Prima flower; Kaiser butterfly stamp, Prima Urban Junque chipboard; Maya Road Mist - cotton candy; Kaisercraft bling; Muslin; Websters alpha sticker, Carolee's tiny alpha stickers; Heidi Swapp stickers, Memento ink - black, rosebud; cream paint

Discovering New Zealand
A recent pic from our trip to New Zealand at Christmas was perfect for this fortnight's challenge.  We had a wonderful time exploring New Zealand and this pic of Luke and Brittany was taken on a tour at Rotorua, which was really fascinating.  Parts of the Mary's fabulous sketch inspired my design of this page.  I purchased the little fern leaf embellishments in a scrapbooking shop in New Zealand...  couldn't help myself!!  They are the national emblem and are made from Paua shell which is native to New Zealand.

It's a Big One - Scrapmatts In the Garden

Hi Girls,

Be prepared.. this is a biggie as I went a little crazy with my yummy new chippies from my Scrapmatts DT parcel and created quite a few cards and 2 LO's.   In The Garden is this month's theme and I went to town, cause you all know how much I love flowers and butterflies!!  Pop on over to Scrapmatts and check out the new chippies available and while you're there why not have a lookie loo at the gallery and be blown away by all the beautiful creations.

In the Garden
Just received some gorgeous papers from Meg's Garden in the mail, which are the perfect for this month's theme.  Had a play with some mediums and stamping on this LO.  I used the Ornate Frame 08 (CB6010) to draw the eye to the flower photo and added one of Scrapmatts chippie Butterflies 03 (CB4010) which I layered with a Martha Stewart butterfly punch.

Springtime Beauty
Again some gorgeous pp's from Meg's Garden with lots of fussy cutting, gesso and stamping.  I used some of the new Fern Leaves 01 (CB1155) in amongst my fussy cutting, some sweet Butterflies 18 (CB1028) and I cut down the Floral Frame 01 (CB6012) to tuck under my photo.  I also used one of the fab new Name Plates 01 (CB1148) in my title, and tucked in amongst the flowers is a gorgeous clock charm from my2angels.

For You
More new lovely chippies here on this card with the Words 05 (CB1156), Words 05 (CB1157), Leaf Spray 01 (CB1146) and the Baskets 02 (CB4081).  Had fun creating this sweet card and went with a bit of fussy cutting of some Websters paper to fill the cute basket then added the inked leaf sprays.  I decided to emboss the basket before inking to give it a bit more texture, and finished off by using the words as my greeting.

Twins Birthday Cards
January is a big month for birthdays as Brittany had birthdays for her girlfriends which are twins and triplets and they love receiving one of my handmade cards.  I decided on some fun and bright pp's and used the Butterflies 19 (CB1045).  I left them raw (mist white) and backed them with pp then added a little bling.

Triplets Birthday Cards
Had three 18th birthday cards to make here and again went for some fun brights with black highlights.  I used the Dragonflies 04 (CB1036), Microchips 17 (MC1025) and Flourishes 04 (CB1003), which I inked and blinged.

OK that's it for now.  Thanks so much for stopping by :))

The Colour Room #95

I have cut back a bit recently on my DT commitments as I really wanted to have a bit more time to just play when I create.  This means I am now able to start taking part in a few more challenges, which I have been really missing.  I decided as soon as I saw the yummy #95 colour palette at The Colour Room, that I had to squeeze this one in.

Love You

Had a play with my Tim Holtz Distress Reinkers and just love how the background came out.

Scrapbooking Creation Who's Who LO Pics

Can finally show you my creations for the Who's Who article in Scrapbooking Creations November Mag.

Happiness Is

This LO of Luke was created with pp's from Simple Stories and Prima with lots of yummy chippies from Scrapmatts.

Love

Another LO created with some Glitz Design, BG and GCD pp's.  Played with some Gesso and stamping for my background on this one and of course had to add some fussy cutting.

OTP Travel Clock + Matching Card

I am starting to get back into creating more cards and OTP projects and really enjoyed transforming this little travel clock... I loved it so much I decided to make a matching card.  I used some Graphic 45 pp's with more Scrapmatts chippies and highlighted with metal embellishments to tie in with the masculine theme.  The winged charm is from my2angels.

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving some love.  Your comments really make my day.

BITW & Scrapmatts Challenges

Hi Girls,

Well I have two challenges to share with you today.  First up is the new word for Bird is the Word which is:
Journey
To play, all you have to do is use the word somewhere on your creation.  There is also an optional sketch from the talented Mary Thomas to inspire you.  Pop on over and check out the gorgeous creations from the DT to get the juices flowing.

Family: A journey to forever

Here is my take on this fortnight's word.  I have used it in my title and my journaling to convey how this old pic taken of my babies when they were just 2 & 4.  This pic just melts my heart and is one of my favs, as I don't have many of my children when they were young.  I used some Simple Stories - Generations and some old Scenic Route for my pp's.  Went for a bit of an old world feel with some antique lace, a couple of crochet doilies and my fav Martha Stewart butterfly punch with some bronze filigree butterflies from my2angels and some pretty micro chippy flourishes from Scrapmatts.

Scrapmatts February Challenge

It's All About LOVE
Well this month is my turn to host the challenge, and I am hoping you will be inspired to play along and get the chance to win a fabulous prize of a $25 Scrapmatts gift voucher.

How to Play:
As February is the month of love, I decided to have a word challenge. Use the word "LOVE" anywhere on your LO, card, ATC or OTP. The word can be in your title, journaling or on an embellishment. You don't have to create a romantic page, as you could use the word to convey something you love to do, to eat, to wear... the ideas are endless!!

I also have 2 other criteria for this challenge which are:

1. Have a heart (can be more than 1) somewhere on your project
2. To use some paint on your creation also.

To be eligible to win the prize, your creation MUST also use some Scrapmatts.  Members need to upload their entry into the gallery by the end of the month and call it 'February Challenge'.  Check out the gorgeous examples from the DT girls HERE for some inspiration.  Can't wait to see how you all interpret the challenge.. good luck!!

Cherish

I went for a very feminine LO (surprise surprise) and decided to use a pic of me and my DH taken when we were dating and I was 19... OMG, such a long time ago!!  I used quite a few different Scrapmatts chippies on this page... Heart Frames 01 and 04, Keys 01 and Assorted Words 03.  The word love was used on my heart embellishment and I used paint on my masking and to alter my chippies.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and leave some love.  Your comments really make my day!!

Cathy :))
