Lindy's Stamp Gang Jan Colour Challenge

Hi Ladies,

I came across the challenge site for Lindy's Stamp Gang and decided to have a go as I love their mists and have quite a collection of them in my stash.  Click on the link above for challenge details.

To create this LO I was inspired by the Pop and Colours online tutorial by Georgia Heald.  I had a lot of fun creating the gorgeous mixed media background from this tutorial.  I have always admired Georgia's style, so it was wonderful to be able to recreate a LO using her fabulous techniques.

The Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst mists I used to create my background are Mission Bells Brown, Dark Chocolate Truffle, Saltwater Taffy, Cotton Candy Pink, Creme Brulee Cream, Clam Bake Beige, and Icy Primrose Magicals.

LO and Card to Share

Hi Ladies,

Have been having problems with blogger and am hoping this post works... cross fingers!!

I have a LO and card to share created using a Craft Queen Scrapbooking LO Kit.

Always Remember This
This pretty kit has a red, pink, grey and cream colour theme, which I think has a bit of a Valentine's feel to it.  The pink and cream pp has a heart design which I altered with gesso, misting, masking, stamping and punching on the edges. I fussy cut and layered the MME doily pp and cut my photos in a circular design to blend in.  The chipboard title was coated with gesso, inked around the edges then highlighted with little torn strips of washi tape.  I printed the title words on white cardstock from my stash and altered with washi tape.  Finished off with some sweet wooden buttons and doilies, and trim from the kit.

Shabby card
There was enough left over in the kit to make a card.  I cut a large square from the centre of the kraft cs to reuse on the card, as you only see the edges of the kraft cardstock on the LO.

I masked the card with gesso, added a few mist splats and randomly stamped with a script stamp, then layered some of the remaining fussy cut doilies.  The greeting was printed on cream c/s from my own stash, or you could stamp a greeting in the large fussy cut doily.  Some pretty trims and embellishments from the kit to finish off.

Product Used:  Craft Queen Scrapbooking Kit, Crafters W/shop mask, Glimmermist, Glitz Design stamp, gesso, EK Success border punch, white and cream cardstock. Tim Holtz distress ink.

C'est Magnifique Kit Club - Giveaway and a Few More Creations

Hi Ladies,

"Beautiful Dreamer"

For this LO I decided to used a pink and grey colour palette. I tore, distressed and fussy cut the papers and higlighted the torn and grunged edges with silver glitter glass. I love to play with colour, and decided to mix some of the Silks and Pigment Powders to create a few different shades. To create the medium pink for my splats, I mixed the Raspberry Wine silk glaze with a little white paint and thinned down with water. I coated the large chipboard doily with gesso, then mixed the Raspberry Wine Silk Glaze and Chiffon Pink Primary Elements with some water to paint and splatter over the top. When dry I randomly stamped with a Script stamp.

Items used on this LO: January Kit, Mixed Media Kit, Flower Add On, Embellishment Add On - resin heart, pink rose trim.
Items from my stash: Gesso, Viva Croco Crackling, Silver glitter glass, paper leaves, Prima ink - old rose, Martha Stewart border punch, Crafters Workshop script stencil, stamps.

Wings
One of the items in the mixed media kit is a sweet little canvas frame, which I was going to use in an OTP project, but as I had so much gorgeous product to work with, I decided to create a large canvas.  The beautiful Blue Fern butterflies were the inspiration for this canvas.  I had a lot of fun creating layers with mixed media on my background using pp's, Luminarte silks and primary elements, gesso, masking, stamping, punched elements and a bit of mesh.  Once I was happy with my background, I layered various flowers and embellishments which I altered with paint, diamond dust and microbeads.
I coated the Blue Fern butterflies with gesso, then highlighted with Luminarte silks and primary elements which I mixed together until I was happy with the colour, then added a recycled pink diamonte earring to the body of the butterfly.  My title was cut with my Silhouette Cameo.  I coated the title with glue and while still wet sprinkled with some pink german glitter glass.
The mixed media kit has some beautiful Prima metal embellishments.  I coated the metal flower with some Viva Inca Gold in silver, then highlighted the edges with some of the mixed Luminarte silks and primary elements. The Prima flowers Blue Fern doilies and floral diecuts were also altered with the Luminarte paints and powders, which I mixed to create some mists.

Items used on this LO: January Kit, Mixed Media Kit - Luminarte silks and primary elements, Prima flowers and metal embellishment, Embellishment Add On - Heidi Swapp frames, Blue Fern B'fly, alpha stickers,  Flower Add On,
Items from my stash: Pink German glitter glass, Diamond Dust, Martha Stewart and EK Success border punches, Silhouette Cameo diecut title and stencil for masking, Memory Box floral die, Prima stamp, gesso, pearl embellishments, recycled bling earring and book pages, mesh.

C'est Magnifique - January Sketch Challenge

Hi Ladies,
As Guest Designer for C'est Magnifique Kit Club this month, I decided to create one of my LO's using the beautiful sketch designed by Michele Singh for this month's Challenge.

Enjoy the Journey
Couldn't help but create another LO with one of Brittany's formal photos as the blue tones in the kit were a perfect match.

I altered the gingham pp by embossing and highlighting with Azurite silks to add some texture.  The Blue Fern chipboard title was carefully cut apart and altered with Viva white croco crackling.  Once dry I highlighted the edges with Azurite silks.
You can create different shades of  colour by mixing the paints and powders together and you can soften the colours by mixing in some white paint. The beautiful Blue Fern chipboard butterfly was altered by painting with Luminarte products from the mixed media kit and the edges were highlighted with silver microbeads.  To make the butterfly stand out from the blue background, I layered a white diecut butterfly underneath and topped the centre with a recycled pearl earring.

The Heidi Swapp frame, pretty Prima flowers and metal embellishment were highlighted with Luminarte products from the Mixed Media Kit.  I also used some of the Luminarte primary elements powders to create mists for my masked background.

Items used on this LO: January Kit, Mixed Media Kit - Luminarte silks and primary elements, Prima tag and metal embellishment, Embellishment Add On - Heidi Swapp frames, Luminarte Azurite Silk,  Flower Add On,
Items from my stash: silver microbeads, velvet leaves, Martha Stewart pansy and heart border punches, Prima poppies stencil, Kaisercraft stamp, gesso, Melissa Frances embossing folder, Memory Box b'fly die, Viva white Croco Crackling, recycled pearl and bling earrings, crochet doilies.
