The Scrapbook Store Maja Design Enjoying Outdoors

This month for The Scrapbook Store I am creating with the beautiful Maja Designs "Enjoying Outdoors" Collection. Here is my final layout for the month using these gorgeous papers

Be Happy Be Bright Be You
I know some of you out there aren't too keen on the colour purple, but I love it!! and it looks so dreamy when it's softened with cream and green tones.

How perfect do the Green Tara Azaleas and Mini Blossoms match in with these papers... looks like they were made for this range!!   The pretty Dusty Attic foliage chipboard pieces were altered with Beck Beatties's Tinby Designs Metallic Melts in Sherwood Green.  I used a sponge to apply gesso to the chipboard first, giving it a raised rippled look, then coated with the embossing powder and heat set.

The pretty frame was cut from a Kaisercraft Oval Ornate Frame Die and I also used the Kaisercraft Moroccan Lattice Die to create a template for my background masking.

The masked background was stamped with the Kaisercraft Lattice Texture Stamp in Ranger Fern Green Archival Ink.  I then randomly added some Violet Prima Glitter Glass by applying with glue and a small brush for some added texture

The Scrapbook Store - Maja Designs Enjoying Outdoors

Hi Everyone,

This month for The Scrapbook Store I am creating with the beautiful Maja Designs "Enjoying Outdoors" Collection.

There are some pretty soft green pp's in this Collection, which I decided to use to create my layout.   I highlighted the pp's with peach accents for a pop of colour and cream accents to soften the overall look of the layout.

The beautiful Blue Fern Bird Ornaments chipboard piece was cut into 2 sections, altered with a coat of    Eggshell White Ceramcoat Acrylic Paint then stamped with Kaisercraft script texture stamp in Abandoned Coral Distress Ink and tucked in between a couple of flower cluster created with Petaloo Textured Blossoms and TSS mini flowers.

To create my background I masked with Crafters Workshop Tiny Dots and Faber Castell Whipped Spackle, then stamped with Kaiesrcraft Script texture stamp in Olive Ranger Archival Ink as well as the Kaisercraft Flutter texture stamp in Abandoned Coral Distress Ink, the flicked all over with Kaisercraft Peach Mist, and Lindy's My Mojito Green Starburst Mist.

January Creations and Tutorial - Kaisercraft

Hi Everyone,
Today I have my projects created with the Kaisercraft new release "True Love" and "#Me" Collections as well as a Step by Step Tutorial on a misting technique with glad wrap using some of the gorgeous newly released Kaisermist colours.

First up I have my creations using the beautiful "True Love" Collection, which has a romantic theme with soft and pretty watercolour florals, lacey hearts and a lovely array of quotes for that someone special in your life.  I have also used this collection for my step by step misting tutorial.

Cling Wrap Mist Tutorial

“Be Happy Be Bright Be You”
For my tutorial I thought I would share a simple but very effective technique using glad wrap and some of the newly released Kaisermists.  All you need are a few mists, in various colours that complement each other, a piece of cardstock/pp, gesso, and glad wrap.  I have used the new Candy and White Kaisermists, along with the Red, Peach and Pink from the previous release.
To start, coat your background cardstock/pp with gesso.  The gesso stops the mist from absorbing straight into the paper.  I have used white cardstock, so that the marbling effect of the misting technique really pops.  If you  are going to use patterned paper, it looks better if you choose a pale coloured pp with a very subtle pattern to it.  I find the heavier weight of cardstock works better.
Dry off thoroughly with a heat gun, then mist generously with your lightest colour first, through to your darkest colour.
Tear a piece of glad wrap with about 45cm long, then apply over your misted area, crumpling the glad wrap as you go.  This will need to dry overnight or a couple of hours outside in the sunlight.
Once dry, just peel away the glad wrap and you have a gorgeous marble-toned background!!
Cut off the diagonal strip from the reverse side of the "My Baby" pp and tear diagonally down to form a large corner piece, then cut and tear another smaller corner piece.  Tear strips from the "My Precious" pp to fit under the corner pieces and adhere.  Tear lengths of mint glitter tape and affix to corners, then using the hessian texture stamp and lagoon ink pad stamp randomly around the edges.

Fussy cut the flowers and leaves from the reverse side of "My Soulmate" pp.
Affix the large torn corner section to the right-hand side of your background and the smaller torn corner to the bottom left side of your background.
Diecut a section from the Butterfly Cardfront Decorative Die from the green "My Baby" pp so that you have 3 butterflies.  Coat with PVA glue and sprinkle with glitter.  Diecut the Be Happy Decorative Die from the peach side of the "My Love" pp.
Adhere your photo, then arrange and adhere the fussy cut pieces, butterflies, rhinestone flourishes around the left-hand side of your photo.  Top your butterflies with fern sparklets and randomly adhere sequins and beads around your flower cluster.  Finish off by adding the heart collectables with sticker phrases on the bottom right of your photo and adhering your diecut Be Happy title.

Hope you enjoyed my tutorial.  There are endless colour variations you can try with this technique to match your pp's and this would make a fabulous background for cards as well.

“So Many Beautiful Moments”
This layout was created using the gorgeous Specialty Diecut Paper and Collectables.
The background was created by diecutting the Lattice C6 Decorative Die to use as a mask, with extra light modelling paste.  Once dry I outlined with a black fineliner pen, then randomly flicked with Apple and Lime Kaisermist over the masked area.

“You are Truly Fabulous"
How gorgeous is the new release Vintage Keys Decorative Die!!  I have used it with the C6 Lattice and Butterflies Decorative Dies cut from the reverse side of the "My Friend" pp to create a pop of colour and contrast on the fresh and crisp "My Sweetheart" pp.

The Scrapbook Store - Maja Designs - Enjoying Outdoors Collection

Hi Everyone,

I have my 2nd layout to share created for The Scrapbook Store using the beautiful "Enjoying Outdoors" Collection from Maja Designs.

This lovely outdoor inspired collection is all about – autumn, nature, the garden, and whimsical weather and has a pretty mauve, green and cream muted colour palette with hints of soft brown.  There are 24 beautiful double-sided pattern papers in this collection. giving you 48 lovely mix and match designs!!

Enjoy The Little Things

I played around with mist, texture paste and gesso to create the soft and dreamy background for my layout.

I masked the background with Faber Castell Gel Medium coloured by adding Pop Rock Purple from the Lindy's Stamp Gang Under the Boardwalk Magicals set.  I then stamped with woodgrain stamp from the Bo Bunny Rough it Up Stamp Set in Tree Branch Arichival Ink

To create a soft and dreamy look and tone down the purple to a soft mauve, I sponged over the top with Faber Castell Gesso.  Once dry, I flicked Apple, Wisteria and White Kaisermists and Pop Rock Purple Magicals to create depth.
