Zeus and Zoe - Thank You

Hi Ladies,

First up I would like to say that I am loving all the gorgeous entries for this month's word challenge at Zeus and Zoe... keep them coming!!  For details on how to enter click HERE.

Here is  my 2nd post for the week.  I have a card to share with you using vintage trinkets and pp's from my Zeus and Zoe Kit.  Pop in and visit Marivic's Zeus and Zoe Etsy store, to see all her gorgeous goodies and vintage elements available for purchase.

This card was created for a close friend to send her a special thank you.  All the pattern papers and embellishments except for the fussy cut bird cage and gingham ribbon came from my Zeus and Zoe Kit.

I love altering my pp's with mixed media techniques... on this card I used gesso, a mask and some inks to add a little texture.  I then fussy cut the flourishes and greeting which were layered with foam tape to add some dimension, and finished the card off with a gorgeous vintage bird charm, a pretty pearl butterfly pin and a border of vintage lace.

Other materials used:  Bo Bunny pp, Craft Queen gingham ribbon, Crafters Workshop stencil, Spellbinders die, gesso, Versamagic and Tim Holtz Distress inks

Zeus and Zoe "Believe"

Hi everyone,
I'm here to share my LO created for this month's challenge at Zeus and Zoe... which is to create a project using your chosen word for 2013. Details on how to enter as well as a look at the fabulous prize pack on offer from this month's sponsor Maja Designs are HERE.

My word for 2013 is "BELIEVE".  I have always struggled with self confidence and seem to be forever doubting myself.  So this year I have decided  to believe in myself,  try to put away the negative thoughts and feelings,  and muster up the courage to venture out of my comfort zone and just jump in the deep end.

I usually overthink when I create a LO as I am such a perfectionist, so on this page I decided to let go and play with some mixed media, using gesso, layering various masks, and some splatters and drips with glimmer mist and Viva Decor precious metal over the top of the masking.  I was very happy with the outcome... I might need to let go a bit more often!!

The items I have used  from my Zeus and Zoe vintage kit supplied by Marivic from her Etsy Store are a sheet of patterned paper, vintage buttons, crochet doily, Manor House Creations cream flower, and a some vintage ephemera.
vintage button, MHC cream flower, teal crochet doily
vintage button altered with turquoise Viva Decor precious metal, an a vintage letter and KandCo pp

Additional materials used:  OA and Kaisercraft pp, Prima flowers, wooden embellishments and notecards,  Green Tara velvet leaves, Kaisercraft wooden berry branch and collectables, vintage paper doily, Prima and Creative Imaginations stencils, gesso, Viva precious metal turquoise, glimmermist crushed shells, chocolat and patina, Pin Paislee stamp, Cuttlebug tags, EK Success border punch, Tim Holtz distress ink tea dye.

This month our fabulous prize pack is sponsored by Maja Design.

Graphic 45 Class LO

Hi Ladies,

I was tidying up and putting away some of my LO's and came across a LO and card from a class I taught in October last year for the Qld Scrapbooking Retreat in Noosaville, so I thought I would share it on my blog.

Enjoy the Journey

I had a lot of fun teaching all the ladies this class using Graphic 45 Olde Curiosites Shoppe pp's and a few mixed media techniques.  As there was a fair bit of paper left over I decided to make a quick card as well.

Craft Queen - Kaisercraft Secret Admirer

Hi Ladies,

I have a LO to share which I created with some yummy Kaisercraft goodies which came in my Craft Queen parcel.  The range is called Secret Admirer has to be one of my all time favs... the colours are so delicious and the embellishment diecut packs are jam-packed with so many gorgeous pieces.

Smiles That Melt Your Heart
This LO was made using the Kaisercraft Secret Admirer 6" pad, the collectibles doily and icon embellishments, melon satin seam binding, pearl trim, pansy punch, paper leaves and some washi tape on my background.  This particular washi tape is no longer available but there are plenty of other beautiful tapes to choose from.

Other materials used:  MME pp, Tim Holtz plaquettes, K and Co grand adhesions, MME brads, CI epoxy sticker, paper doily, Around the Block roller tape, Prima cabochon, recycled chiffon flower and Prima packaging, glitter flower sticker.

Happy Birthday
I also have a birthday card created using Lily Bee Persnickety 6" pad, large leaves, cream pearl ribbon, black double rosette trim, Collections words for cards and a large wooden flower button.  I used some black squiggle washi tape to border my card and a strip of tape measure washi tape in my layered greeting.

Other materials used:  Martha Stewart border punch, crochet doily, MFT leaf flourish die.

Have a Wonderful Birthday
I created this card using the prima notecards. I cut the centre out and used it as a frame for the card. The prima notecards are one of my favourite products - you get 30 in a packet (5 of each of the 6 designs) and they are $6.25. The tea thyme have sold out  but the Rondelle, Firefly, Zephyr and Rosarian are in stock.

Happy New Year!!! - OUAS Jan Challenge

Hi Ladies,

Happy New Year!!!  Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and a fabulous time bringing in 2013.

I have the first challenge for the new year at Once Upon a Sketch to share with you.  Check out the link HERE for all the details on how to enter... we have a few new changes.  While you there, check out the gorgeous creations from our super talented Design Team and all the fantastic prizes up for grabs from our sponsors.

Theme: "The start of something new"
The new year is among us. What better way to celebrate change, renewed hope and having a positive attitude than with a brand new year? A new start...a new horizon and the start of something new! A new year is full of possibilities. So in honor of the start of 2013, we would like you to create a layout and interpret the theme "The start of something new..." however you like. Whatever that sentence inspires you to scrap then go for it.

Ideas for journalling: Include the theme sentence as your title, a new job coming up or the beginning of a new job and in the past and what it meant to you, a child's new toy, a new house you are building/moving in to or one you have moved in already, a new year and what it means to you, a new attitude, the start of a new school year, a new relationship - yours, a family members, your child's, a new friendship, new wardrobe, new diet, new phone, new haircut...

New Adventure
My take on the challenge was to create a LO from our trip to New Zealand as it was a new adventure.  To change it up a little, I rotated the sketch once from right to left.  Some of the Design Team were sent a gorgeous pack of papers from Maja Designs to use on our creations... I have used Walking in the Forest and Crea Diem pp's which are perfect for a masculine LO.   I have also used the steampunk clock and mini cogs chipboard from Imaginarium Designs, which I altered with Viva Deco Ferro paste in copper, which gives the chipboard a fabulous rusty textured look.

The background was created with Prima stencil and Viva Deco modeling creme and while it was still wet I sprinkled with some Stampendous bronze Mica Fragments.  When dry I then smudged some Viva ferro paste in copper and old gold over the top.

Materials Used:  Maja Designs, MME and Creative Imaginations pp's, Imaginarium Designs chipboard, 7 Gypsies tags and rubons, MME diecut sticker, Viva Decor Ferro Paste, Modeling Creme and Precious Metal Colour, Stampendous Mica Fragments, Tim Holtz tape, metal game spinners and Distress Inks, LYB metal brad, Hampton Art clear stamps, Thickers glitter alphas, vintage ticket, copper paint,

Please make sure that we see some sort of journalling on your layouts and please tell us where your journalling is. You are allowed to journal in any language but please tell us where on your page we will find your journalling. Remember journalling has to be a bit more than a title, or a generic comment. Hidden journalling is perfectly fine.
