Berry71Bleu - September Reveal

This month at Berry71Bleu the Design Team was sponsored by Studio 75 and we were all given the gorgeous "Summer and Latte" paper range and some chipboard to play with.  I was inspired by Marivic's beautiful tag and the Studio 75 papers to create this vintage LO of my mother looking so chic in Paris at the age of 21.

She's Got Style
I decided to alter the background paper with some gesso, ink, glimmer mist and masks, then grunged up the edges with a border punch.

List of Materials:  Berry71Bleu tag, Studio 75 Summer and Latte papers and chipboard, paper and crochet doilies, Prima chipboard, Mulberry wild roses, Petaloo flowers, Kaisercraft Journal Tags, Basic Grey diecut sticker, metal charms, EK Success border punch, Carolees tiny alpha stickers, Gesso, Ink, Glimmermist

Scrapmatts - Black White and One

Hi Girls,
This month the theme for Scrapmatts is Black, White and One.  Love the striking contrasts of this colour combination, so much fun to work with!!
Attitude
This LO was created for a Girl Grunge theme for Scrapbook Creations Magazine and published in Issue 94.  The colour combo is black white and teal, and I cheated just a little bit by using a Kraft background paper.  I used the Scrapmatts Clock Faces which I backed with some gorgeous BG pp then inked in silver and black.  I also used the tiny Scrapmatts Gears on my butterflies.

List of Materials:  Scrapmatts Clock Faces 01 CB 5053, Gears 05 CB1078, black and white c/s, MME, BG and Crate Paper pp's, book pages, corrugated cardboard, Craft Queen cobweb ribbon, recycled chain, zipper flower, feather, Glitz Design stamp, Martha Stewart butterfly punches, Crafters Workshop stencil, Tim Holtz flower die, stamp, embossing folder and distress ink, texture paste, paint, Kaisercraft bling, Daisy D's rubon, American Crafts glitter alphas.

Remember
I am trying to create a few more masculine LO's, as lately most of my work has been very feminine and I needed to change it up a bit.  This photo of Luke was taken whilst on holiday in New Zealand.  He's on he way up a massive hill, so that he can come screaming down at high speed on a Luge Ride.  He had a ball even though it was freezing cold.  I used the Hanging Frame, various Gears and Assorted Words chippies and had a bit of fun with a grungy mixed media background.

List of Materials:  Scrapmatts Hanging Frame 02 CB5059, Ass't Words 02 CB 1136, Gear Frames 04 CB5041, Gears 02 CB1073, Gears 05 CB1078, Bazzill Cardstock, BG, 7 Gypsies, Teresa Collins, Crate Paper and Simple Stories pp's, BG diecut stickers, Daisy D's rubon, Kaisercraft stamp, EK Success border punch, Tim Holtz game spinners, twine, Tim Holtz distress stain, Gesso, Versamagic ink.

Tags
Created two feminine shabby chic tags and highlighted the chippies in black ink to make them pop.
List of Materials:  Scrapmatts Butterflies 18 CB1028, Card Borders 03 CB1020, Thank You Words 05 CB1051, Micro Chips 14 MC1022, CI, Echo Park, Authentique, Teresa Collins, Prima, 7 Gypsies pp's, Craft Queen satin binding, Tim Holtz trim, Prima lace, resin flower, Kaisercraft pearls, ink.

Love Card
A pretty card using the new cupid chippies and the name plates which I coated with some Viva Inka Gold in a rose colour.  Love this medium as it has a gorgeous shimmery sheen and you just rub it on with your fingertip.
List of Materials:  Scrapmatts Cupids CB1166, Name Plates CB1148, Bo Bunny, CI, 7 Gypsies pp's, Echo Park alpha stickers, Prima pearl flourish, Craft Queen satin binding and pearl embellishment. Viva Inka Gold, Tim Holtz distress ink.

OUAS & CSI SEPT CHALLENGE

Hi Girls,

For the month of September Once Upon a Sketch is teaming up with Colour Stories Inspiration  (CSI).

Debbi Tehrani, and Nadia have worked pretty hard behind the scenes to coordinate everything so we can provide you with cool challenges and PLENTY of inspiration throughout September. We have members of CSI as well as our main sponsor 7 Dots Studio as guests at Once Upon A..Sketch this month.

First of all , there will be FOUR challenges here at Once Upon A..Sketch for September instead of our usual 1 challenge . This is because CSI has 4 challenges each month. Each challenge will be revealed on Saturday morning (Australian time) to coincide with the challenge reveals at CSI in the USA and you MUST remember that you will have just 9 days per challenge to enter your layouts here on our side bar. As you know usually our challenges are month long.

Now, we know that Once Upon A..Sketch is not a colour challenge site like CSI but...we thought we would give you something different and something more exciting to try. Why not right?

Our winners here at Once Upon A..Sketch will be announced at the beginning of October and our Design Team will look at ALL the entries from ALL the challenges. So the more challenges you play along at, the more chances you have of being one of our challenge/prize winners or Top 5 Featured layouts. This is a little different to CSI who announce their "featured" layouts on a weekly basis.

Lastly, everything will go back to normal in October and we will have a reveal October 1st as usual. So I hope you guys have fun and enjoy what we have planned for you. Don't forget that the entries for this challenge are due by 2:00pm Monday 17th of September Australian Eastern Standard Time.

Come and check out the link HERE to see this weeks gorgeous creations and all the amazing prizes up for grabs by all our fabulous sponsors.

For this challenge, you must use :
*the SKETCH provided
* all the colours in the SCHEME
* at least 2 elements from the EVIDENCE
* at least 1 element from the TESTIMONY!
LIVE FOR THE MOMENT YOU'RE IN
Here is my interpretation of the challenge.
Sketch: I decided to flip the sketch.
Scheme: I used the colour palette which was a bit out of my comfort zone, but I love how it came out.
Evidence:  Used some mesh in my layers and a mesh mask.  Fibres are woven into the chipboard clock and on my metal banner.
Testimony:  Used some of the letters in inspiration image and scattered my journaling.

List of Materials:  Basic Grey, Kaisercraft, Crate Paper, Graphic 45 and Pink Paislee pp's, Imaginarium and Scrapmatts chipboard, Scrapbook Fantasies ribbon, Basic Grey alpha stickers, Bo Bunny & Echo Park stickers, metal charms, fibres, mesh, Viva Ferro past, paint, ink

** The deadline for this challenge (FOR THIS MONTH ONLY) is 2:00pm Monday 17th of September Australian Eastern Standard Time . The Design Team will vote and the Top 5 layouts PLUS Top 5 featured layouts will be announced soon after the challenge has finished.
** To be eligible for a prize or a feature at BOTH Once Upon A...Sketch and Color Stories Inspiration you must enter both challenges by the due date. It is NOT compulsory to play along at both challenges.
**This is an international blog, so anyone can enter
**You are free to combine Once Upon A..Sketch challenges with other challenges. We don't mind at all!!!
**You are allowed to enter only layouts for our challenges
**You are also allowed to flip or rotate the sketch or alter it to suit your needs, but please make sure its still recognisable.
**Post your creation on your blog or an online gallery and link it on the right hand side of this blog using the Link tool. Please provide a direct link to your post, not your entire blog.If the link tool is down, please leave a comment on the comments section and link your layout there.
**You may enter as many times as you like
**Also, please consider turning off word verification for comments on your blog.

Scrapmatts Sept Challenge

Hi girls,
I have this month's new challenge at Scrapmatts to share with you.  The criteria is very simple, just scraplift a LO, card or project from one of the Design Team girls... easy peasy!!  remember to use your Scrapmatts chippies to be in the running for the fab prize!
- and there are lots to choose from just click one of the links below :)

(Angella Peardon's gallery, Jenny Garlick's gallery, Julene Matthews's gallery, Renee Iveson's gallery, Ilene Tell's gallery, Cathy Cafun's gallery, Sonia Thomason's gallery, Anne Patterson's gallery, Kim Kendell's gallery, Leanne Jago's gallery, Jolanda Simons's gallery, Trish Rheinberger's gallery, Sharmaine Kruijver's gallery or Kylie Symons's gallery.)

Trip - Dubbo Zoo

Here is Jolanda's page which I scraplifted.
I decided to scraplift a LO created by Jolanda.  I replaced her circular photos with Scrapmatts gears and used some of the larger gears as the frame for my photo.  I also used the gears to replace some of the circles in the layered edges.  After seeing Angella use the Viva Decor Ferro paste in her Brisbane Papercraft Class earlier this year, I am totally hooked... love the sandy texture with the gorgeous metallic colours.  I used some old gold Ferro on the edges of this LO.. it looks much better IRL.  I also had a play with some of the new Stampendous aged embossing enamels to alter some of the gears.. again hard to photograph, but they are fabulous to use on chipboard.
List of Materials:  Scrapmatts Moving Gears CB4046, Gear Frame 01 CB5005, Gear Frames 04 CB5041, Gears 01 CB1072, Gears 02 CB1073, Gears 05 CB1078 Assorted Words 04 CB4051, Assorted Words 02 CB1136, Bo Bunny, 7 Gypsies and Rose Moka pp's, October Afternoon mini alpha stickers, Viva Ferro paste, Stampendous aged embossing enamels, Brilliance inks, gesso

Exciting News to Share!!
I have been invited by the lovely Nicole to be part of the Craft Queen Design Team... so excited to be on the team alongside a gorgeous group of ladies!!
