Dusty Attic May Mood Board Challenge - Picture Perfect Moments

Hi everyone,
Cathy here today, sharing my take on this month's Mood Board Challenge at Dusty Attic, which is another stunner!!

"Picture Perfect Moments"
I took inspiration from the colour palette and floral accents and decadent feel of this month's Mood Board.
To start I stencilled my background with Dusty Attic Ledger Stencil and Prima modelling paste.  Once dry I stamped over the stencilled area with a Kaisercraft Texture Stamp.

Loving the fabulous new release Impact Titles... so many new titles, you are bound to find just what you need!!  I have used "Picture Perfect" which I altered by first coating gesso, then a coat of 3D Liquid Pearls in Buttercup and Snow.

The 49 and Market 6x6 Happy Moments come in white which I love! I added a bit of texture to the string frame with some Prima mini art stones, then to make the chipboard a more brilliant white I spritzed with Kaisercraft white mist.
The leaf sprigs were misted white, and the little berries were highlighted with buttercup liquid pearls.  I also used buttercup liquid pearls on the Iron Accents #1.

Dusty Attic February DT Creation - Picture Perfect

Hi everyone,
Cathy here today sharing a rustic, romantic inspired layout using gorgeous chipboard and stencil designs from The Dusty Attic.

"Picture Perfect"
I adore this photo of my nephew's wife taken by a professional photographer.  The rustic setting and colour tones go beautifully with her gorgeous red hair!!

I used two of the Dusty Attic stencils on my background.  One of the sprigs from the Wildflower Stencil #2 was used to create a bit of depth to my flower clusters.  I used texture paste and when throughly dry, outlined the sprig with a brown fineliner pen to match the tones in my layout and make them pop.

I also used the Chicken Wire Stencil over the top of my misted and stamped background.  I used a mix of pink and white Liquid Pearls to tie in with the pink blossoms.

To alter my chipboard pieces I first coated them with gesso, then coated them with soft pink and white Liquid Pearls.

Dusty Attic - December Mood Board Challenge - Life is Good at the Beach

Hi everyone,  I hope you had or are having a wonderful Christmas day with your loved ones and that you start the New Year with a bang!!

You still have time to enter this month's gorgeous Mood Board at Dusty Attic to be in for a chance to win a $100 Prize Voucher from the Dusty Attic Website.  All you have to do is make sure you have some Dusty Attic chipboard/products on your creation and link it up to the Dusty Attic blog on the top right hand side... good luck!!

"Life is Good at the Beach"
I was inspired by the photo on the bottom right and used the sketch loosely as a guide when creating this layout.

To create the background I used two Dusty Attic Stencils.  First I stencilled using texture paste and the Sunburst template, then I stencilled with the Confetti #2 template and gel medium, which I coated with Lindys embossing powder in Weeping Willow Green/Gold.

The chipboard pieces were coated with white paint and small sections highlighted with embossing powder.

Dusty Attic - Capture This Moment - New Release Chipboard

Hello Dusty Attic crafters,
Today I am sharing a layout created with a few of the gorgeous new release chipboard and stencil designs from The Dusty Attic.

It felt like Christmas had come early when I received my DT parcel last week, so many beautiful new designs.. Halloween, gorgeous scrolls, foliage and lots of new titles!!!

"Capture This Moment"
I was drawn to one of the beautiful new scroll chippies Iron Garnish #3 when creating my layout this month, which I layered with a new release chipboard title "Capture This Moment".
To create my background, I stenciled with the new release Damask Stencil using Faber Castell Whipped Spackle. Once almost dry (slightly tacky) I rubbed over with mauve mica powder and brushed off the excess to make the design pop.

I also also used the new Chicken Wire stencil with White Frost Metallic Lustre Paste.  Once dry, I randomly stamped over in grey with Kaisercraft Script stamp, then flicked over with white Kaisermist to soften.
To alter my chipboard pieces, I first coated with gesso, making sure to rub the gesso into the etched typewritten words on the title piece.  Next I applied liquid pearls in various colours, dabbing on with my finger to create texture.  I used mauve ink on the typewritten word, which I applied by lightly swiping over the top of the gesso.  The Capture part of the title was coated with white Liquid Pearls, then swiped over the Coral Metallic Lustre paste.
