Dusty Attic May Mood Board Challenge - Picture Perfect Moments

Hi everyone,
Cathy here today, sharing my take on this month's Mood Board Challenge at Dusty Attic, which is another stunner!!

"Picture Perfect Moments"

I took inspiration from the colour palette and floral accents and decadent feel of this month's Mood Board.

To start I stencilled my background with Dusty Attic Ledger Stencil and Prima modelling paste.  Once dry I stamped over the stencilled area with a Kaisercraft Texture Stamp.

Loving the fabulous new release Impact Titles... so many new titles, you are bound to find just what you need!!  I have used "Picture Perfect" which I altered by first coating gesso, then a coat of 3D Liquid Pearls in Buttercup and Snow.

The 49 and Market 6x6 Happy Moments come in white which I love! I added a bit of texture to the string frame with some Prima mini art stones, then to make the chipboard a more brilliant white I spritzed with Kaisercraft white mist.

 The leaf sprigs were misted white, and the little berries were highlighted with buttercup liquid pearls.  I also used buttercup liquid pearls on the Iron Accents #1.

Dusty Attic April Mood Board Challenge - A Moment Captured

Hi everyone,  Today I am sharing my take on this month's Mood Board Challenge at Dusty Attic.  How fresh and pretty is the colour palette!!

"A Moment Captured"

I took inspiration from the colour palette and the floral accents of this month's Mood Board.

I started by stenciling my background with Dusty Attic Bedazzled Stencil and white texture paste.  Once dry I misted around the stenciled design with yellow mist.

How gorgeous are the new Fancy Frames chipboard designs!!  I altered them and the Mystic Flourishes by first coating with gesso and then coating with white Liquid Pearls to add textured glossiness.

Another of the fabulous new release chippies are the Impact Titles... so many to choose from!!  I have used "a moment captured" which I altered by coating with cobalt archival ink, then inking over the top with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide in Faded Jeans.

The fern leaf chipboard pieces were altered with a coat of Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Peeled Paint, then a coat of Twisted Citron Distress Oxide.

Scrap The Boys March Challenge

Hi Ladies,

Finally caught up with all the day to day stuff since getting home from the Melbourne Scrapbook and Papercraft Expo.   Had the most wonderful time and was finally able to meet all these lovely ladies IRL:  Georgia Heald, Rachael Funnell, Jasmine Shea, Kim Ewins, Leonie Neal-Dawson, Heather McMahon and Teresa Abajo, just to name a few.   I had the most wonderful chat with Rachael and was able to chat with Georgia in between classes.. they are both such sweethearts.  Thanks so much to Teresa and Kim for helping me set up my display area... makes it difficult when you are vertically challenged!!  I had a fab time with my roomy Kim Ewins, who is just the loveliest person, Nicole and her mum... can't wait to catch up at the Brisbane Show.  A huge thank you to all the wonderful ladies who came to my Craft Queen classes.. I had a blast.   Hopefully I might see some of you at the Brissie Show.

I have decided to slow down a little with all my DT commitments, as I was really missing creating for the fun of it, with no pressure and just for me.  So now that I have a bit more time on my hands I can create LO's for some of the Challenge Sites I have been missing.

I have noticed that my pages have been mostly feminine LO's lately, so I pulled out some of my masculine stash and created this page for this month's Scrap The Boys Challenge.

The criteria for this challenge is to create a layout using these base requirements, you can add other items but these must be used...

2 Photos 6x4 or smaller
Chipboard
Washi Tape
Mists/Paints

Seriously?

I took these photos of Luke and his dad at our family Christmas gathering.  Silly me thought I could snap a fab photo of the two of them, but I couldn't get Luke to stop making silly faces and when I finally got one where he looks good, dad looks oh so serious.... I just can't win, so I used them anyway.

I had a play with the background using a chevron mask and some mists, then splattered over the top with metallic paint and some Tim Holtz distress stain splats.  For more added grungieness I stamped with a brick stamp and randomly punched the edges.  To make the punching stand out I backed it in a contrast colour and used a fineliner pen to make it pop.

The chipboard element is the arrow frame which I coated with metallic paint and wrapped randomly with some chevron washi tape.  I also added washi tape to the strippy background pieces.

Materials Used:  Pink Paislee, This and That, Basic Grey, Simple Stories pp's, Craft Queen washi tape, button and jute trim and twine, Tim Holtz brick stamp, distress inks and stains, Glimmermist crushed shells, Viva Precious Metal aqua, EK Success binder punch, Fancy That hexagon border die, Crafters Workshop chevron stencil.
