The Colour Room Challenge

I decided to try out the Colour Room Challenge site.  The work on this site is out of this world.  I really loved the colour palette for this challenge.  I used some pics of DD which I thought would go well with the colours.  Used Prima & Websters pp's, Prima flowers, K&Co and Carolees for title, Martha Stewart punch & Pink Paislee b'fly stamp which I coloured.  Spent a bit of time hand cutting lots of pieces, but it was worth it, then finished off with some glimmermist.

From Screen 2 Scrap Challenge

Added criteria:

1) Must use yellow on the page, either the title, base cardstock or photo matt = 1 bonus point

2) Must use as part of your title 'Little Miss'....... or 'Little Master'....... Example: Little Miss Happy. Little Master Grumpy or Lille Miss Megan or Little Master Connor = 1 bonus point

3) **Movie Diva Demand** for an extra 3 bonus points.... give me either a car, truck, train or van somewhere on the page

This is also my first LO for FS2S.  I had fun with this.  This is an old pic of Luke at 2 years old.  I titled my LO Little Mr Curious as this describes Luke to a T.  At 16 he still loves to pull things apart to see how they work.  Loved the bright colours in the Sassafrass papers, they are fab for children's pages.

A few LO's

Some LO's from the last 6 months.

These are some LO's of Luke with a bit of a grungy feel.

A Scrap the Girls LO of Brittany.  Used a bit of hand stitching and stamping on this LO.

An old pic of Luke at a few weeks old.  Picked out the colours from my dress and used gorgeous Prima papers.

Challenge Heaven - April

I haven't been very well lately, but still managed to get some scrapping done over the last 2 weeks.   After 2 doctor's visits and some tests I have just found out I have cold sores and it was a pretty bad attack.  I had them in my mouth and all of the roof of my mouth was covered.... absolutely excruciating.... couldn't eat for 4-5 days.   I suppose I should be thankful I didn't get any on my lips.  Apparently the first few attacks are the worst, so I hope I don't get another attack any time soon.

To try and take my mind off my things I finished some of the Challenge Heaven challenges for April.

Number Challenge

I had a lot of fun making this LO as I love using bright colours.  This page turned out all sunny and bright as this pic of Brittany makes me feel this way.  You had to use 3 pp's, 2 circles and 1 bracket.  I also used this layout for the Mad About Scrappin 2 of 4 April Challenges.  You had to use bright colours, 3 pp's, buttons, chipboard and journal tag.  I use Kaisercraft, Paper Loft and Bo Bunny pp's,  chip board heart, lace doily from chip chop shop, Martha Stewart daisy border & butterfly punches.  The flourishes were cut on my Cricut and the journal tag was handmade and glimmer misted.

 Colour Challenge

In this challenge you had to use Autumn tones and rounded corners.  These pics were taken on hols at Christmas on my SIL's property near Forster.  Her horse Gemma is a real piggy.  We would feed her bread crusts every day and she couldn't get enough.  She would stick out her tongue to tell us "give me more".  Used Prima, Websters and Cosmo Cricket pp's and finished off with a bit of machine stitching.

Theme Challenge

The theme was learning and you had to add some hand cutting.  I had a big cleanout of the kids rooms and while doing this found a scrapbook of a year in review for Luke at Preschool.  I found this cute pic of Luke learning to write and it also had some samples of his handwriting, which was perfect for this challenge.  Used Bo Bunny, Daisy Bucket and K & Co pp's and hand cut the monster tag.  Finished off with a bit of doodling around the LO.

Inspired Blueprints - Sketch #46

This is my take on sketch #46 for Inspired Blueprints.  More holiday pics..... I took hundreds of photos.... Luke with SIL's dogs Ruby and Noushka having some time out.  Used Rose Moka, Bo Bunny & Prima pp's with K&Co chip circles, MM chip borders & Bella glitter alphas, Fiskars border punch and some machine stitching.

Scrap the Girls - April Challenge - 5, 4, 3, 2, 1

For Scrap the Girls this month the challenge was to use 5 x buttons, 4 pp's, 3 flowers, 2 photos and 1 alpha.  Other products were allowed, but the numbers of the listed products were to remain the same.  Very rare to have pics of me.  I think DH had the camera.  These were taken on hols and Christmas. Used Bo Bunny and Shabby Green Door pp's.

That's it for now.  I'm off to have a go at a few more challenges.  TFL

Cheers

Challenges - Getting There!!

Managed to get some challenges done in the last 2 weeks.... not as many as I would have liked.

It's been hectic here as DH has been getting some renos done.  He put in some fab floor to ceiling built in wardrobes in the kids rooms, so everything now has it's place.   The downside was the mess everywhere from the renos and pulling everything out of the kids cupboards.  They do look great, he's done a wonderful job.

Kids will be back at school on Tuesday, so I will get some peace and quiet again, and less running around as I've been dropping them here, there and everywhere.  Hope to get some serious scrapping done.

We had a wedding last weekend and I made this card.  I also got my Mother's Day card done while I was at it.

A few other cards.... I have a new niece and my SIL calls her "my little chickee", so I made this for the new babe and my Valentines card for DH this year.

Challenge Heaven challenges for March & April

I finished off the last few challenges for Challenge Heaven for March.  I managed to get all of them done, and I have started on challenges for April.

Scrap Yourself Challenge - March

Make a Wish

This was a difficult challenge for me as I had to be in a birthday photo.  I don't have a lot of photos with me in them as I am always behind the camera.  I went through some old photos and found this one at my friends place on my birthday.  You had to use brown tonings and have a tree on the LO.  I misted a few doilies on the background to soften the colours and used Prima papers and flowers.

Ebony & Ivory Challenge - March

Caputuring the Moment

This challenge was ebony, ivory and pink.  Had to have buttons and brads.  This was a LO of a great pic I took of my DD on a photo shoot.  Used Bo Bunny & Carolees pp's with prima flowers. I used crystal brads as flower centres and a gorgeous button on the large corner flower.

Sketch Challenge - April (sketch from Inspired Blueprints)

Taking Time to Just Be

This was my take on the sketch challenge which is an Inspired Blueprints sketch.  Pics of DD on hols at SIL's property.  It's so beautiful out there.  There is always somewhere to take some time to just be, which was what she was doing at the time.  Used Pink Paislee & MME pp's with Basic Grey diecut flower sticker and some lace, ribbon and buttons.  I had just gotten this gorgeous new Martha Stewart punch, so I had to use it straight away.  Love how this turned out all soft and pretty.

Word Challenge - April

Relax

For this challenge you had to use the word relax and some paint.  Thought my DS looked very relaxed in this pic.  Used Cosmo Cricket, Bo Bunny and Sandylion pps, LYB embies, rubons, stamps, chip star & buttons.  The paint effect was done with bubble wrap on background paper.  Finished off with some machine stitching.

Ebony & Ivory Challenge - April

You Are So Beautiful to Me

Had to use ebony OR ivory with lime green on this challenge.  I used Ivory and Green.  Used Prima pp's and flowers.  Punched the circles on the paper and went over it with grungy machine stitching in white.  I love this pic of DD.

Stuck Challenge - 1st April

My take on sketch challenge.  Pics of DD on hols at Christmas having a splash in the pool on a beautiful Summer's day.  Used lovely bright pp's from Fancy Pants, MME, Kaisercraft & Cosmo Cricket, Sassafrass & MME diecuts and some machine stitching.

Mad About Scrappin - Challenge 1 of 4 - Card Challenge

Just found Mad About Scrappin and decided to have a go at their April Challenge.  This is the 1st of 4 for the month, which was a card challenge.  Had to use some ribbon, circles and flourishes.  I used Fancy Pants & MME pp's with Prima flower which has a ribbon tied in a bow for centre and flourishes.  There are circles on the pp's and the button is a circle.  The stamp is from Stampendous.

Great News - Scrap the Girls Challenge

I just found out I won a prize from Scrap Therapy for the Scrap the Girls March Challenge.  I was very excited as they have beautiful work on this site.  This was my take on the challenge.

Cheers for now and TFL.

Been Busy This Week

Finished my LO for Scrap the Girls Challenge for March.

The criteria for the challenge was:

The challenge..... use the following picture as inspiration for your LO – it could be the colours, the fashion, the women in your life etc.......
Extra criteria – use the word friend, friendship or friends in your title.

I was inspired by the word friends.  This LO is of my DD Grade 7 Graduation with 2 of her closest friends who are identical twins.  I love this pic.

Challenge Heaven - A few more for March

So far have managed to finish 7 of the 8 Challenges for March.

Colour Challenge - Had to use green, blue and orange + ribbon. I used MME pp's some gingham fabric as background for my photo and tied some ribbon in a knot for corner embellishment, also used Martha Stewart border punch.  I thought I'd try a bit of glimmermist with some butterfly stickers I had.  I like how it turned out.

Quote Challenge - Had to use the words "A Special Love", rubons and a decorative edge. I used Prima pp's & rubon frame with Fancy Pants hearts rubons on photo and birds on title.  The decorative border was a Fiskars border punch on green Prima packaging, then added some bling and glitter on flowers and leaves.

Word Challenge - Use the word Daddy or Mummy in title, at least 4 pp's and blue title.  I went a bit mental with the pp's on this LO.  Used K& Co., Prima, Kaisercraft, Scenic Route, Memento, & Bella Blvd.  I cut out the word Daddy on Cricut and used LYB alpha stickers & rubon for rest of title.  Added some chip embellies, Prima flower and knotted paper ribbon to finish off.

Number Challenge - Use 3 word title, 2 staples and 1 photo.  This is a LO of my DD.  She let me use her as a guinea pig, so I could play with my new camera.  Used Prima glitter pp with the title "In Full Bloom".  Had fun stamping quite of few different cut out embellies on this LO and had to add some Prima flowers.

Theme Challenge - Sunshine - had to use pearls and ink around photos which I do all the time. Lovely pic of DD and friend on holidays quite a few years back. Used Fancy Pants pp's with pearls, buttons and some Unity stamps.

I finished a few more LO's of holiday & Christmas pics.  OMG I took so many photos.

The family on Christmas Day at sister in law's property near Forster.

Brittany and Luke opening their presents on Christmas Day.

These LO's are pics from a photo shoot I managed to talk the kids into.  They weren't keen at first, but we ended up having a great afternoon and I snapped some great shots.

I'm off to have a cuppa and watch a movie and veg out.

Til next time.

Stuck Sketch - 15 March

This is my take on Stuck Sketch for 15 March - "I'm 2 Sexy for my Shirt".  As soon as I saw these pics of Luke the title popped into my head.  I thought it was hilarious, but Luke took a while to see the humour, although he did eventually come around as he knows he looks cool in these pics.  Used Fancy Pants Daily Grind, LYB Generation Z, WRMK Teen Angst & 7 Gypsies pp's, Doodlebug loopy border, Kaisercraft brad. Also added a bit of texture with Cuttlebug emb. folder on black cardstock, then finished off with some machine stitching.

Teen Pages

Been working on some pages for Teen Submissions for Scrapbooking Memories.  Trying to catch up on all those holiday snaps.  These are a few of DS Luke.  On the "Wild Thing" LO I had a play with paint circles in lime green and black with a few paint splatters on the blue background paper, thought it went well with the WRMK Teen Angst papers.  The title on the "Seriously Cool" LO came from a recycled T-Shirt which I cut up.  I loved how it fit in with the LYB pp's.  TFL

OMG - SO EXCITED!!!

I received an email from Scrapbooking Memories saying that were interested in TWO!!! of my layouts for the magazine.  I was so excited as I have tried a few times over the last year with no success.  I hadn't submitted for quite a while, as it's hard to know what they may like.  Anyway my sister said I should give it another go, and I'm glad I listened, as this time they picked 2 of them.

YIPPEE!!!!
