Bird Is the Word - ADORE

Hi Girls,

Sorry I haven't been around much lately,  I've been so busy I haven't had time get online and leave some love, but I should be catching up with all of you within the next few days.  Then I'm off on Wed & Thursday to the Sunshine Coast to take part in a Prima class with Ingvild Bolme... so excited!!

This fortnight's new word at Bird is the Word is ADORE.  You need to add this word somewhere on your LO, card or OTP creation and can alter the word to adorable/adored etc.  There is also a fabulous sketch designed by Mary Thomas to use if you need some inspiration.  The lucky winner will receive one of Wendy's kits from Tidbitz in Time.  Pop on over and check out the gorgeous work from our Design Team for more inspiration.

Adore This Time of the Year

I absolutely adore this time of the year as the Jacarandas are in full bloom with the most gorgeous mauve blossoms.  There are beautiful purple blooms everywhere in the surrounding streets where I live and when I go out, just looking at these beautiful trees against a gorgeous blue sky makes my day.

I kept this LO fairly simple as I wanted the photo to be the focus.  I used a Pink Paislee mistable for my background with some mauve pearlescent ink to highlight the resist pattern and some chipboard accents from Scrapmatts and Dusty Attic which I inked.  Finished off with a strip of 7 Gypsies tape, a touch of lace and a little cluster of Prima flowers.

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving some love, it really makes my day.

Have a wonderful day :))

Kraft It Up Nov Challenge

Hi Girls,

This month at Kraft It Up it's all about journaling, or creative ways to display journaling.  The inspiration is up to you.  All you need to do is make sure you use Kraft or Kraft pp as your base.  Pop on over and check out all the gorgeous creations from the Design Team for some inspiration.

At 16 You Are...

On this LO I used some Basic Grey Kraft pp for my background and hand cut some gorgeous Prima pp for a framed border.  I added some doily embellishments, which I tucked under the frame and decided to journal around them.

Will have more DT work to share over the new week.

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving some love.  Your comments really make my day.

Cheers

Scrapmatts - Free Choice

Today I have my DT creations for Scrapmatts and this month was free choice... YAY!!!  I received some gorgeous goodies in my parcel from Sof and Andrew and my absolute fav is the new Printers Tray and there are some yummy Chrissy chippies which I will use next month.  Pop in and check out the Gallery to see all the amazing creations and maybe be inspired to use some Scrapmatts chippies.

I was lucky enough to be asked by Sofie and Andrew to demo at the Craft and Quilt Show in Brisbane and it was fantastic.. had a fabulous time and got to meet the girls and so many lovely ladies.  OMG I was able to see the DT creations up close and was blown away with how talented the Scrapmatts DT are!!

Don't forget you still have time to enter this month's challenge and be in for a chance to win a Scrapmatts prize.

Printer's Tray
I had so much fun playing with the Printer's Tray.  It's a fabulous quick and easy off the page project and would make a wonderful gift for someone special at Christmas.

The papers are a MME Lost & Found 6x6 pad and then jazzed them up with some smaller chippies.  I used the holly leaves under the bird, a flourish, butterfly and assorted words, which I coloured with the stardust gelly roll pens which are available at Scrapmatts.

Enjoy the Journey

Went for a grunge look for this LO of Luke and used one of the large circle chippies which I covered in twine.. took a while, but it was worth the effect.  I teamed the circle design with various gears... one of my fav chippies for a masculine LO and added a few metal embellishments.  The chain around the circle is available at my2angels.

Sweet 16
Was inspired to used some yummy MME Lost & Found II papers for this recent photo of Brittany and kept it fairly simple.  I used the page border chippie and coated with it with gold glitter to blend in with the MME glittered papers.  I also used the cute little butterfly chippies which I backed in pp and glittered the edges in black.  The little butterfly charm was recycled from a bracelet and tied to the page with twine.  Finished off with a yummy flower cluster using a Manor House Creation flower and and a touch of lace and pearls.

Sixteen
Brittany turned Sweet 16 while I was at the Craft show.  I had so much going on at that time, so I started creating the card while I was there and finished it off when I got home, just in time to give to Brittany that evening.

I used the gorgeous dress form which I backed in pp and embellished with ribbons and a mini rose.  The glitter effect on the dress form was done with the clear gelly roll pen.  This was such a quick card to make and again I used a MME Lost & Found 6x6 paper pad which are perfect for cardmaking.

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving some love.

Cheers

Bird is the Word - WISH

Have been a bit absent of late as my mojo has been very low and I spent most of last week at the Craft and Quilt Show in Brisbane doing demonstrations for Sofie and Andrew at Scrapmatts.  Had a lot of fun and met so many lovely ladies, and I was able to see all the gorgeous creations from the Scrapmatts Design Team up close... they are such an amazingly talented bunch of girls!!

The new word is up at Bird is the Word which this fortnight is WISH.  All you have to do is use the word WISH on your project somewhere in your title or journaling and link it up at BITW for your chance to win a gorgeous kit from Wendy at Tidbitz In Time.  All featured winners will receive a special badge for their blog.  There is also a fab sketch from Mary Thomas (optional) which you can use to get the creative juices flowing.  Pop on over and check out all the gorgeous examples from the Design Team for some inspiration.

The winners for the YOU & ME challenge will be released next Sunday.

You Are My Wish Come True

Used some of the yummy MME Lost & Found II papers for this LO and made a cluster with some Prima flowers which I jazzed up with some raffia to add a bit of texture and the most gorgeous little glass ladybird pin from Tracy at my2angels.

(Sketch use is not required to win the challenge)
I'm off to catch up on a some DT work which will keep me busy for the week, but I promise I will be taking some time to stop your blogs and leave a little love during the week.

my2angels New Arrivals

Have been busy with DT work, and my mojo is really low at the moment, so I don't have anything to share with you.  Hopefully I will have something to early next week, if I can get motivated.

Craft and Quilt Fair

I'm off the the show next week and will be doing some demo's for Sofie and Andrew at Scrapmatts!! I'm a little nervous, but I'm sure I'll be OK.. so if you're at the Brissie show pop in and say hello.

NEW ARRIVALS at my2angels

Tracy at my2angels has lots of yummy new stock in so pop on over and check at the NEW ARRIVALS section for a look.

Kraft it! with Tim Holtz and Core'dinations
Tim Holtz and Core’dinations have collaborated to introduce this innovative blend of rustic
colors on natural kraft cardstock
this kraft paper has a layered coating of color on one side so you can do all of the things you love to do with coredinations paper including sand it, tear it, emboss it, and of course distress it.  with kraft core, instead of seeing a matching "color", you actually get the kraft core!  cool huh?  you'll notice the color numbers assigned to each paper, and that is simply because this nostalgic collection of kraft core doesn't match any of ranger's inks specifically, they are entirely new colors designed to work with any palette.  so if you've been loving the vintage, earthy look and feel of kraft paper, just wait until you get your hands on the new kraft core from coredinations

Here is a few examples

All 24 colours are in stock for 75c per sheet and available here in the Tim Holtz Kraft Core section under Cardstock
AND

CHARMS CHARMS and more CHARMS
Most of these are at our usual price of 5 for $1.60 just with a couple of exceptions
Great size at 3cm x 3.8cm
 4.2cm in diameter @ 60c each

 Thanks for stopping by :))

my2angels - Graphic 45

Hi Girls,

In my goodie pack from Tracy at  my2angels I received some gorgeous Graphic 45 An ABC Primer papers which I just love and had a lot of fun creating a LO and 2 cards to share with you.

Kindy LO

As soon as I saw this range of pp's I knew I would scrap this old photo of Luke taken when he was 4 years old at Kindy.. it went perfectly with the papers.  I used an old Basic Grey Jovial Coal  for the background with the alpha border cut from the Building Blocks paper to frame my LO.  The background was cut from the Grammar School paper and stepped to look like building blocks.  I also used the School Days paper to cut out the ruler and layered it with some velvet ribbon and the Tim Holtz negative strip.

The handmade flower was made by layering a recycled doily, tissue from a paper pattern which I crumpled, some black lace and a plaid brad which was aged by watering down some Tim Holtz Tea Dye stain and painting it on, then I just added some jute twine to make my flower look a little more boyish.  The cluster was made with a bottle cap, a pebble, an antique bronze timepiece charm and a Tim Holtz trinket pin.  Graphic 45 papers are always fabulous for fussy cutting, so I cut out the little boy from the Games and Playtime paper and added one of Tracey's cute ABC book charms.

My Present For You - Card

Graphic 45 papers are so versatile and to show you that this range isn't just for school based LO's I made 2 cards.  For this card I used the Bedtime Stories paper by fussy cutting the sweet image for the main focus on my card and added a mini rose to her hat to add a bit of dimension, then layered it with some Bo Bunny etc which I punched and added some red rhinestone chain  for a little bling. This range of paper blends beautifully with Graphic 45 as it has a great vintage feel.  The background is Calico Kids.  The flower was made by layering some tissue pattern paper, topping it with one of Tracey's gardenias and a plaid brad.  I also added some mulberry leaves and a bronze locket charm attached with some baker's twine.  Again I used the Tim Holtz tea dye distress stain to age the brad and the baker's twine.

A Little Help From My Friends - Card

Here is the 2nd card I made using Graphic 45 An ABC Primer papers.  I used black cardstock for my base and layered it with the reverse side of ABC Primer which I embossed with the Cuttlebug Script Folder and inked in black.  On top I layered a tag with some mini roses, some Basic Grey Jovial Flannel Pyjamas, G45 Calico Kids and cut out the pic from G45 - Happy Go Lucky.  I also cut the verse separately from the pic and added a little sun charm.
