Hi Girls,
This month at Meg's Garden we are still creating with the gorgeous Forget Me Not Collection. Denise Ann has designed a 2nd collection of new papers that have been added to 1st range. I used the Forget Me Not #1 collection to create an altered gift box and Forget Me Not #2 collection to create a matching card. Click on the link to Meg's store HERE to see the new collection and all her other gorgeous goodies.
Altered Gift Box
I have had this little box in my stash for a while, waiting to be transformed. The lovely thyme green colour of the box is a perfect match for the Forget Me Not collection. I started with the square paper lace doilies and cut off each corner then layered some blue pp underneath to highlight the lacy pattern in the doilies. The pretty flowers in this paper range cry out to be fussy cut, which of course I did, then added pearl centres for a bit of dimension. The strips were cut to make contrasting borders, then I used the 1cm white lace trim to tie in with the lace doilies. I painted a Tim Holtz lock with gesso and rubbed off the excess paint to give it a distressed look.
On the top of the box I fussy cut more flowers and added a ribbon bow in the light blue stripe, then topped the bow with some of the gorgeous new Dusty Attic flowers in blue and green. The beautiful Australian Federation Corner chippies from Scrapmatts were the perfect addition to add a pretty touch to the box top, and then I finished off with a small manila tag which I stamped and tucked another little fussy cut flower under the greeting . The tag was attached with a metal safety pin.
Materials Used - Meg's Garden: Forget Me Not Collection, Dusty Attic Flowers -grassy knoll and smoky blue, Candy Grosgrain blue and white stripe ribbon, Paper Lace Doily - bond square, Lace - 1cm off white, Tim Holtz Locket Keys, Manila tag (packs of tags) Tim Holtz pin.
Other: Basic Grey pp, Scrapmatts Aust Federation chipboard corners, Kaisercraft pearls, metal safety pin, Basic Grey lace stamp, Heidi Grace greeting stamp, Versamagic ink
Matching Card
The altered box came out so well that I decided to make a matching card. I knew straight away that I would use the gorgeous LaBlanche wrought Iron Door stamp on my card. I stamped it on some plain cardstock in blue to match the 6x6 Forget Me Not papers and cut around the door so that it would open up to show my stamped greeting.
I framed the card with the corners from the square doily, which I backed in blue pp to match the box and added some fussy cut elements from the 6x6 papers. The pretty rhinestone handles that I used for my door knobs were recycled from a necklace. To tie in with the silver and bling on the door knobs I used a pretty silver butterfly charm and some tiny rhinestones to hang my stamped bird cage.
Materials Used - Meg's Garden: Forget Me Not Collection #2, LaBlanche Wrought Iron Door stamp, Paper Lace Doily - bond square
Other: Basic Grey pp, Kaisercraft bling, Grant Archival frame stamp, Heidi Grace greeting stamp, Pink Paislee bird cage stamp, Butterfly charm, Rhinestones, Versamagic ink,
Thanks so much for stopping by.
