Hi Ladies,
I have a pretty Shabby Chic canvas to share which was inspired by all the lovely Spring flowers that have started popping up in my neighbourhood. I decided to use some yummy Manor House Creations and Green Tara flowers which I purchased from the lovely Monica at the Trinket Track. Pop on over and check out the link HERE to see all the fabulous range of embellishments she has in store.
Had a lot of fun creating the mixed media background on my canvas. First off, I painted a layer of gesso over the canvas, then allowed it to dry. I used a patterned paper from Prima, which had a soft monochromatic pattern to add a little depth, then grunged up the edges with a lacy border punch.
A pretty damask stencil and some clear gel medium was used to add texture to the background. To make the damask pattern visible I used my finger to rub in some mother of pearl Viva Precious metal colour.. they have the most beautiful shimmer to them!!
To soften the background further and add a fresh feel, I spread some random smears of Viva Croco Crackling in white.. LOVE this stuff, crackles beautifully!!!
Around the borders of my canvas I tore some strips of washi tape and randomly stamped with one of the new range of Kaisercraft background stamps (Lattice) and Tim Holtz black soot ink, then softened the effect with some gesso and a soft bristle brush.
Finished off by adding a spray of gorgeous MHC and Green Tara flowers, some lace and a pretty Collections butterfly. The lovely diecut oval is also from Manor House Creations. I backed it with a piece of MME pp which I printed on, then added a little more of the floral washi tape. The rest of the quote was printed on the cream pp and cut it into strips.
Materials used: Trinket Track - MHC flowers, Green Tara roses,
Craft Queen - washi tape, pearl embellishmemnt, Viva Croco Crackling, Kaisercraft lattice stamp, Tim Holtz Distress ink, Collections butterflies
Fiskars border punch, Cheery Lyn mini butterfly die, Matisse gel medium, Viva precious metal colour, Prima damask mask, MHC flowers and oval diecut, Prima and MME pp, lace, Versa Magic pixie dust chalk ink
Thanks so much for stopping by :))
