Hi Ladies,
I have a LO created for Manor House Creations to share, using a mix of products from the Spring and Winter 2013 collections.
Be True To Yourself
I have been really enjoying experimenting with mixed media backgrounds lately. I love dabbling in mixed media, but would always hold back for fear of ruining my LO, but after a few tutorials with Pop and Colours Workshop, I have gained so much more confidence and learned to just have fun with it.
For this LO I was inspired by the Mood Board from the the Inkido February Challenge. I love vibrant colours and red is one of my favourites, so the photo of the strawberry cake and the red heart chocolate are the inspiration for this LO. As I was looking through my stash of Manor House flowers and the Belle mixed pack jumped out at me as the perfect choice for this challenge. The pretty red flowers really pop.
I clustered some of the flowers from the Belle pack with a beautiful white Camelia, Krystal flowers and medium light green leaves. I am always on the lookout for jewelery items which I can recycle and have used a gorgeous rhinestone flower recycled from a necklace purchased at my local op shop. I just removed the pearl centre from the folded fabric flower and replaced with bling flower.
I created another smaller cluster on the right hand side of my LO, which flows into my title. The Believe flexible word was cut down to make the word "Be" and used with the pretty lace heart from the Hearts and Butterflies Lace pack to highlight the words for the rest of my title.
I love the MHC frames as they can be used whole or cut down into smaller pieces, which I have done here on the large and small clusters. I cut the white Ornate Scallop Frame into two, one piece slightly larger than the other and backed the inner circle of the frame with pp. Just use a pencil to trace the inner circle onto your pp, then cut about 3mm around the penciled line. Adhere with glue to the back of the frame. I needed to position the text in the correct direction so I had to cut the frame first then back with paper, but if the direction of the pp doesn't matter, it's easier to back the whole frame with the paper then cut in half.
