Guest Designer for CSI 120 and The Trinket Track

Hi Everyone,

Here is my last LO for my Guest Design spot at Colour Stories Inspiration and The Trinket Track.  This case filed ends on May 4.  Next week will be my 1st creation at part of the CSI Design Team... so excited!!

Remember This - CSI #120

I chose to use the inspiration word sad for my starting point on this LO.  Every time I look at this photo of our dog Louie, I get a little teary.  He was the most beautiful and loving dog, but unfortunately we didn't have him in our lives for very long.  I still expect him to be at the back door waiting to greet me with his happy bark and furiously wagging tail.

Monica has a wonderful variety of embellishments at The Trinket Track.  I have incorporated quite a few of them here in my little side cluster.  The gorgeous resin frame is one of my favs and I love the natural textures of the cork it butterflies and coconut buttons.  I have also tucked in a pretty resin bloom, mulberry paper meadow bloom and topped my butterfly with the glass catseye cabochon heart.
As part of my Testimony I created a vellum pocket for my journaling with my Silhouette Cameo.
How cute are these little metal flower charms!  To give them a little dimension I bent the petals inwards and highlighted with a little green/gold Viva Inka Gold, then topped them with one a little piece of the berry foam spray for the centres.
Love the metal arrow charms.  Again I have altered the charm to suit the colours in my LO by rubbing over the charm with Viva Inka Gold in green/gold.

Guest DT CSI and The Trinket Track

Hi Everyone,

As Guest Designer for the month of May with Colour Stories Inspirations and The Trinket Track I have the new case file #119 to share.

Be Yourself

When I saw the colour scheme for this week's case file, I couldn't help but be drawn to muted teal and kiwi green colours.  I decided to create a watercolour background with glimmermist to compliment the beautiful blossom border on the Pion Designs patterned paper, and added touches of  beige, light brown and black.
Trinket Track Product Used:
metal butterfly charm, wooden frames ornate, coconut button 4, glass abacus beads- light green, resin fame from resin treat bag-sugar and spice, resin bloom-green,

Love the wooden ornate frames from The Trinket Track, they can be altered in so many different ways.  Here I have lightly inked the edges of the frame in green.  The coconut buttons are also another of my favs and I have used one to alter my Prima flower.
Monica has a great selection of resin embellishments.  I have used the beautiful frame in my little side cluster with one of  the green resin blooms.  The frame is from the Sugar and Spice treat bag.  I backed the frame with a diecut sticker and highlighted the edges with a touch of Viva Inca Gold in green.   The faceted glass abacus beads were randomly attached to the background with strong quick drying Helmar glue.
This sweet little butterfly charm was also altered with Viva Inka Gold in turquoise.
Evidence:
wood - wooden frame around my photo
something clear- clock overlay
frames - wooden frame, resin frame
metal - butterfly charm
clock - clock overlay
leaves/greenery - diecut leaves
floral pattern- floral pattern around edges of background paper

Testimony:  scatter your journaling

Exciting News to Share and CSI 118 GDT Spot

Hi Everyone,

I have some news to share... so excited to have been invited by the lovely Debbi Tehrani to be part of the Colour Stories Inspiration Team starting at the beginning of May.  A huge congrats to all the new and returning Design Team members.  Can't wait to see all the gorgeous and inspirational creations from this amazing group of super talented ladies.  Check out the link HERE to see the new CSI Design Team.

I also have my 2nd LO to share as this month's Guest Designer for Colour Stories Inspirations and The Trinket Track.  Case File #118 is up at CSI and this week being the 2nd week of the month there is also a Page Drafts sketch designed by the fabulously talented Emma Stafrace.

I Love Capturing Your Beautiful Smile
When I saw the scheme for this weeks case file I knew I would use these gorgeous pics of my daughter.  The reason I say gorgeous is not because of her looks, it is because of her beautiful smile, which now that she is older, is very difficult to capture in a photo.  She always has such a serious face when I try and take pics, so when I manage to capture a smile, it's like all my Christmases have come at once.

This month CSI has teamed up with The Trinket Track, and I was sent a fabulous parcel of goodies from Monica Brady to play with.   Here are the items used which are available in store.  Click on the links to take you directly to The Trinket Track

Ruffled chiffon flower-peach- I have used the peach chiffon flower as the main flower in my cluster and altered the flower by replacing the silver button centre with a fussy cut flower.
Manor House Creations flowers-springtime white- used as part of my flower clusters and lightly splattered with yellow mist.
Green Tara 3cm paper roses-turquoise which were altered by opening up the roses and using a resin button woodstain-mint topped with a pearl for the flower centre.
Resin bird duo-aqua- used the bird to embellish the peek-a-boo tear under the title.
Evidence:
White Background - I have used a  white weatherboard pp for my background
Heart - a fussy cut heart on my journaling pocket, I also created a heart stencil with my Silhouette Cameo masking the script pp with gesso and yellow ink
Arrows - used an arrow diecut sticker as part of my title
Pockets - for my hidden journaling I used a pocket envelope.  The journaling reads - Brittany, I love seeing your beautiful smile.  It's nice to see you so happy and carefree and even better when I manage to capture this in a photo.

Testimony: Put journaling in a pocket, Inspiration words - beautiful

Manor House Creations - Romantic Tag Set

Hi Ladies,

Today I have 2 romantic shabby chic tags to share created for Manor House Creations.

I was inspired by the My Minds Eye In Bloom 6" paper pad, which has a soft and dreamy feel to it, and mixed this with a cream pp from My Minds Eye Follow Your Heart 6" paper pad for contrast.

Dream Tag

For my 1st tag I chose a pretty floral pp and contrasted with the cream pp.  I framed the floral pp with a pretty stitched ric rac trim, then machine stitched around the edges.

I also used the cream pp to cut out the floral wreath diecut, cut off one end and embellished with a white Solitude flower and cream Minuette flower. I altered the Solitude flower with a couple of shades of mists, a touch of gesso and a pearl brad for the centre.  The white minuette flower was altered with a touch of saltwater taffy mist added to the flower centre with a brush.  Finished off the flower cluster with some cream leaves and a bow in cream jute twine.
Love the flexible words.  The white is so versatile, as it can be altered to match the colours of your project, which I did here with 2 shades of mist, to give the word a pretty mottled effect.

MHC Product: Solitude-white, Minuettes-pink mix, cream leaves large, Flexible Words-dream white.

Love Tag

For the 2nd tag I went with a similar design, but changed it up a little. I chose a floral pp in a larger pattern and contrasted with soft pink pp.  I framed the floral pp with an antique ric rac from my stash, then machine stitched around the edges.  The wreath diecut was backed with mesh and the flowers topped with pearls.

The larger cream flower came from a Value Pack which as the name says are fantastic value!!  I altered the edges of the flower with mist and gesso, then dabbed a few drops of pink on the stamens.   To create the sweet open blossom, I altered one of the mini blush roses by opening up the petals, pulling out the centre bud and replacing the bud with a pearl brad.
MHC Product:  Mini Blush Roses-soft gold, cream leaves large, Solitude, Value Pack, Flexible Words-love white.

Other Product Used:  MME 6" paper pads, Kaisercraft pearls, pearl brad, Lindy's Stamp Gang mists- salt water taffy, cotton candy,  Tattered Angels Chalkboard mist-strawberry shortcake, Glimmermist-crushed shells,  Craft Queen ric rac trim, jute twine and fine satin ribbon, Prima pearl centre and lace covered button, pearl brad, vintage ric rac and button, mesh tape, gesso, x-cut border punch, lace butterfly.

Guest Design Spot with CSI and The Trinket Track

Hi Everyone,

The new case file #117 is up at Colour Stories Inspirations and I am very happy to have been invited as a Guest Designer for this month, along with Mary Bennetts highlighting some fabulous product from The Trinket Track.

Life Doesn't Have to be Perfect

Was inspired to create a masculine grunge LO for this Case File with a mixed media background To create some texture I used an arrow mask with Viva 3d paint which has a fab metallic grainy texture.  Over the top of the arrow masking I used a small circular mask with gel medium which I coloured with Lindy's Stamp Gang mica powder in a golden yellow to match in with the colour palette.

Leftover rubons are a great way to alter embellishments.  I used some old Basic Grey rubons, placed randomly on the yellow flair button to grunge it up.

For my testimony I stamped a Prima stitched square on some paper, cut around the stamped image, then stamped a Tim Holtz quote for my journaling.
Evidence: cogs/gears, circles, metal, rubons, arrows, numbers
Testimony: Stamped Journalling Spot

Resin rhinestone beads/cabochons - I altered the blue and yellow rhinestone cabochons by coating with gesso using my fingertip. This softened the bold colours and gave them a grungy feel.
Metal - small sprockets - The small sprockets were altered with Viva inka gold in graphite to add the grey tones from the colour palette.
The metal arrow and light bulb charms were also altered with Viva inka gold in graphite.
