The Scrapbook Store - FabScraps Vintage Elegance Collection

Hi Everyone,

Today I am sharing my final layout  for this month created for The Scrapbook Store with the gorgeous 'Vintage Elegance' Collection from FabScraps.  I love to create Shabby Chic Feminine layouts, so this range of papers is pure heaven  Pop in to the store and check out this beautiful range to snag some before it all goes out the door!!

Real Beauty

Today I chose to work with the soft pastel blue papers from this collection, and I just had to fussy cut the gorgeous white roses and flowers from the 'Happy Love' paper to accent my photo.

I have layered and distressed the papers with foam tape to create dimension, then tucked the fussy cut flowers in amongst my layers and around my photo.

To tie in with the shabby chic theme, I decided to stitch the pretty Green Tara lace to the edge of the Green Tara Natural Linen, then folded over about 1/3 and gathered along the edge to create a ruffled border for the right side of my photo.

How lovely are the metal embellishments from Prima!!  I altered them by rubbing over with Aquamarine Viva Inka Gold to blend in with the blue tones of the pp's.

To create my title I used a piece of Kaisercraft Neptune cardstock with the frame from the Kaisercraft Antiques Clear Sticker Sheet and fussy cut around the edges, then embellished the frame with rubon words.  You could also use a stamp phrase, if you don't have rubons.

The Scrapbook Store - FabScraps Vintage Elegance Step by Step LO Tutorial

Hi everyone, Today I am sharing my Step by Step Tutorial for March for The Scrapbook Store, using the gorgeous FabScraps ‘Vintage Elegance’ Collection which I received in my parcel of goodies.  

This range is has a beautiful mix of florals, damask, script and stripe patterns, with a gorgeous shabby chic feel to it, which is right up my alley.  I have complemented the papers with pretty pearl accents and a touch of lace in a simple design, with a smattering of fussy cut elements, which is one of my favourite techniques.  To keep the focus on the beautiful papers, I only slightly altered my background with a touch of stamping and lightly flicked mists in several colours.  Would love to see some of your layouts inspired by this beautiful Collection in our gallery!!

Laugh as Much as You Can

Cut 6cm strip from bottom of FabScraps ‘Love is in the Air’ pp and ink edges in pastel blue Prima Chalk Ink.

Cut 2 x 30 cm lengths of white scalloped lace and adhere to top and bottom of paper, then adhere this piece to the stripe side of the ‘Paris’ pp, leaving a 3cm section showing on the top and bottom.

Randomly stamp the background with Kaisercraft Script Background Stamp in Watering Can Ranger Archival Ink, then flick over with winter grey and charcoal Kaisermist.

Spray one or two spritzes of the Candy Kaisermist onto a non-stick craft sheet, then mix in a little of the Peony Scarlet Red Mica from the Lindy’s Stamp Gang Prairie Wildflowers Magicals Set.  Randomly flick over the background.

Cut the Blue Fern Studios Tattered Diamonds Bits into smaller sections and coat with gesso.  Dry off, then paint on the premixed mist onto your chipboard pieces.  To create dimension, add more colour in random spots.  Once dry, lightly stamp over with Kaisercraft Script Stamp.

Fussy cut flowers, leaves and butterflies from the left over piece of FabScraps ‘Love is in the Air’ pp.  Paint the tips of the fussy cut butterflies with the pre-mixed mist and embellish with pearl brads.

Diecut the larger frame from the Kaisercraft Rectangle Fancy Frames in Kaisercraft Neptune cardstock.  Cut down your photo to fit in the frame and adhere.

Using the picture as a guide, adhere your framed photo, then arrange your fussy cut elements chipboard pieces and velvet hydrangeas around your photo and adhere with foam tape.

Adhere the small resin frame to the bottom right of your photo.  Cut the love you words from the Kaisercraft Clear Sticker Sheet to fit in the frame and adhere.  Embellish the frame with a velvet flower, fussy cut leaf, Prima dangle and charm.

The Scrapbook Store - FabScraps Vintage Elegance and Lindy's Stamp Gang March Challenge

Hi Everyone,  This month for The Scrapbook Store, I am creating with th gorgeous 'Vintage Elegance' Collection from FabScraps.  I decided to create this LO using this month's Color Challenge at Lindy's Stamp Gang as inspiration.  The pink and blue tones of this range look like they were created just for this challenge!!

I love to create shabby chic feminine layouts, so this collection of papers is right in my wheelhouse! Pretty florals, damask and script pp's mixed with lacy chipboard and candy coloured mists... SIGH!!

Lindy's Stamp Gang March Color Challenge

All you need to do to enter is use a minimum of  2 Lindy's Stamp Gang products... (can be 2 different colours mists),  Click on the link HERE for challenge rules and details

To create my background I misted with water and applied the Blue Hawaiian Starburst Mist with a large brush for a watercolour effect.  Once dry, I flicked over the watercolour areas with Creme Brulee Cream Starburst Mist, dried this off.

I mixed the Pink Ladies Pink from the Beauty School Dropout Magical's Set with water on a non-stick craft sheet, then flicked over the watercolour areas.  I also added some flicks of the Blue Hawaiian Starburst Mist to add more dimension to the watercolour blue.  Once dry, I randomly stamped over with Kaisercraft Lattice Stamp in Watering Can Archival Ink.

I coloured the texture paste by mixing in some of the Pink Ladies Pink Magicals powder to create a gorgeous shade of pink to match my pp's.

The beautiful Dusty Attic Lacey Trims Chipboard pieces were altered by sponging with a layer of gesso and whilst Liquitex gesso is still wet, applying the Lindy's Magic Moon Pearls embossing powder, then heat setting to produce a lovely ripple effect.

The Scrapmatts Diamond Mesh Chipboard was the perfect match for the lattice in my photo of Brittany!!  I finished off by add some pretty pink seed beads for a little added texture.

Kaisercraft March DT Post - Finders Keepers and Story Book Collections

Hi Everyone,

This month Kaisercraft have released two gorgeous new collections.


First up is 'Finders Keepers', which is fresh, fun and has a mix of vibrant colours and pretty pastels with a fabulous array of modern designs mixed with pretty florals, which makes this range so versatile.  Of course I made a bee line for the gorgeous floral papers which inspired my fresh and pretty projects.  Absolutely loved creating with this collection!

 “Hello There Lovely” 

Normally, I would pull out my trusty scissors and start fussy cutting, but the gorgeous floral sticker border from the matching 12x12 sticker sheet, made creating this layout so quick and easy.  I cut the sticker in half lengthways to create the top and bottom borders.

You will probably all know that I love using stencils on my backgrounds, so when I saw the new Designer Templates, I was in heaven!!  I have used the Fading Dots template here and outlined the dots with a Souffle Pen to make them pop.

To soften the background and create a dreamy look, I sponged over the masking with white Kaisermist.

“Young, Wild and Free”

This time around I pulled out my scissors to fussy cut the gorgeous floral design from the 'Curio' pp.  Aren't those flower clusters just divine!!

I created clusters to surround my photo by layering the fussy cut flowers with the pretty matching Collectables.

Another of the gorgeous new Designer Templates, this time I have used the Script Template with modeling paste.

The second collection for this month is 'Story Book' a beautiful vintage inspired range with a library from yesteryear feel, lovely art deco type designs and faded book page and script patterns, just the thing for all book lovers!

I dug up this photo of Brittany from a few years ago, which went perfectly with this book themed collection  She was so totally engrossed in her book, that she didn't even notice that I had pulled out the camera!!

I have a soft spot for background stamps, so was overjoyed to see Kaisercraft's new larger background stamps, which are a staple for creating mixed media backgrounds.  I have used the new script background stamp here, and I know this will become a firm favourite!!

The Scrapbook Store - Fabscraps Vintage Elegance

This month for The Scrapbook Store, I will be sharing my projects created with the beautiful Fabscraps 'Vintage Elegance' Collection.

You Are The Reason I Smile

 This range has a lovely shabby chic feel with gorgeous florals damask and script patterns.  The floral papers are stunning and just thing if you are into a bit of fussy cutting.   

For my first layout with this beautiful collection, I started by masking the Script side of the 'Gentleness' paper with the Prima Floral Petites stencil for my background and bordered with the blue damask side of the 'Sweetness' paper, I mixed a bit of the Lindy's Cotton Candy Pink  magicals from the Sweet Treats set with some Prima Art Basics Modeling Paste to create a coloured texture paste. 

Once dry I flicked over the masking with Kaisermist in Winter Grey, then mixed the Aqua and White Kaisermists to create a soft blue and flicked over the masking also.  I dried off with a heat gun, then randomly stamped over in Ranger Archival Watering Can ink with stamp from the Bo Bunny 'Rough it up' stamp set.

To create some pretty floral elements, I fussy cut flowers and leaves from the 'Gentleness' and 'Friendship' papers, and arranged them around my photo with the Kaisercraft Vintage Keys
Die, which I cut apart into two sections. then misted with the premixed pale blue Kaisermist, and embellished with a couple of Kaisercraft denim pearls.

The title was stamped on the 'Sweetness' paper in Ranger Watering Can ink with the phrase from the Kaisercraft Ma Cherie stamp set, then cut apart, inked in watering can and mounted on foam tape.
