Dusty Attic - Chipboard Titles Inspriation

Hi everyone,
Cathy here today sharing a a few layouts I created for the Brisbane Scrapbook and Papercraft Expo in June.

Dusty Attic has so many fabulous chipboard title designs, there is bound to be the right one for your project!!

"To Travel is to Live"

The To Travel is to Live chipboard title was altered by using the Go Cut and Press Foil Machine from Couture Creations.
"Happiness Blooms from Within"
To alter my Happiness Blooms From Within chipboard title, I first coated with gesso, then misted the Happiness word and coated the smaller words with buttercup liquid pearls.

"This Fills My Heart"
I altered the This Fills My Heart chipboard title by priming with gesso then inking with Tim Holtz distress Oxide in abandoned coral.

The pretty Foilage #3 chipboard was altered by coating in pearl paint and sprinkling with superfine white glitter whilst the paint was still wet.
 "My Heart Smiles With You"

Pearl Paint was used to alter the My Heart Smiles With You chipboard title.

"Lovely"
The gorgeous Lovely chipboard title is one of my favs and was altered by priming with gesso, then coating with buttercup liquid pearls.

Dusty Attic April Mood Board Challenge - A Moment Captured

Hi everyone,  Today I am sharing my take on this month's Mood Board Challenge at Dusty Attic.  How fresh and pretty is the colour palette!!

"A Moment Captured"
I took inspiration from the colour palette and the floral accents of this month's Mood Board.

I started by stenciling my background with Dusty Attic Bedazzled Stencil and white texture paste.  Once dry I misted around the stenciled design with yellow mist.
How gorgeous are the new Fancy Frames chipboard designs!!  I altered them and the Mystic Flourishes by first coating with gesso and then coating with white Liquid Pearls to add textured glossiness.

Another of the fabulous new release chippies are the Impact Titles... so many to choose from!!  I have used "a moment captured" which I altered by coating with cobalt archival ink, then inking over the top with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide in Faded Jeans.
The fern leaf chipboard pieces were altered with a coat of Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Peeled Paint, then a coat of Twisted Citron Distress Oxide.

Why not pop in to the Dusty Attic Website to check out all the gorgeous new release chippies.

The Dusty Attic January Mood Board Challenge - Wedding Layout

Hi everyone, I am very excited to have been invited back for another term on The Dusty Attic Design Team.  Thanks so much Jennifer Hedger and Jen Burns... looking forward to another fabulous year creating with all your gorgeous chipboard designs!!

"You Will Forever be my Always"
Today I am sharing my take on this month's gorgeous Mood Board.  I was inspired by the gold and white colour palette, wedding theme and lacy accents.

Because we have so many amazing entries each month and it is so difficult to pick just one winner, there will now be TWO winners who have the chance to win a $AU50 Dusty Attic Prize Voucher to spend at the Website.  All you have to do is use the Mood Board as inspiration and make sure to add some Dusty Attic chipboard/products to your creation, then link it up to the Dusty Attic blog on the top right hand side... good luck!!

To create my background, I first applied gold mist to my paper.  I then stencilled over the gold mist using texture paste and the Creative Script Template.

The chipboard pieces were altered by coating with white paint/gesso and then a coating of gold paint.   Once dry I added touches of gold foil for an added touch of sparkle and texture.

Once the chipboard, paper accents and lace detail were applied around the gorgeous photo of my niece on her Wedding Day, I applied some of the Dress My Craft Crystal Clear Sequins to the background with random touches of gold Prills.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Dusty Attic August Mood Board Challenge - Mini Canvas

Hi everyone,

Today I am sharing my take on this month's beautiful Mood Board, which was the inspiration for my Shabby Chic Boho Skull Canvas, created using gorgeous Dusty Attic chipboard and stencil designs.  You have until the end of the month to join in for your chance to win a $100 Prize Voucher from the Dusty Attic website!!

Wild and Free

To create my background, I started by covering my canvas with a cream pp and then stamped around the edges to create a border.  I then stenciled the background with the beautiful Mandala Stencil and Metallic Lustre in Coral.
The Boho Skull and Mini Feather chipboard pieces were coated with White Frost Metallic Lustre and a touch of Coral Metallic Lustre on the ends of the feathers, which I attached to the Skull with DMC thread.
I was drawn to the shabby chic photos in the Mood Board and was inspired by the lace doily and pretty blooms and used fussy cut blossoms and a doily stamp to alter the Boho Skull
For the title I used the Mini Script and Teeny Weeny ABC chipboard sets, which I coated with White Frost Metallic Lustre, then lightly dabbed over with Peeled Paint Distress Oxide, let it sit for a minute, then wiped off, so it left just a hint of colour.  I used the Clear Gloss Varnish to adhere the title to my canvas.
