Kraft It Up - Oct Challenge

Well I'm so glad September is over, as I have been extremely busy with scrapbooking commitments, and in amongst that the kids have had 2 weeks holidays and my DS Luke had an 18th birthday party at home and of course DH was working away, so I had to organise it all on my own!!! I really don't know how I managed it all, and I will be so glad to have a bit of breathing space next week as the kids are back at school.. yippee!!

On to something a little more interesting, which is this month's challenge for Kraft It Up.

This month you need to create a layout using one of the following styles...
* Monochromatic
* Minimalist
* Vintage/Romantic/Shabby Chic

Please remember that your creation must be based on Kraft Cardstock or Kraft Patterned Paper.

Entries close 30th October 11.59pm and there will be some fab prizes on offer from Scraptherapy, Scrapaddix and Joyful Scraps, who are our sponsers this month.

Pop on over and check out the site to view all the gorgeous DT examples.. truly inspiring creations!!

If Nothing Ever Changed

I decided to step out of my comfort zone this month and try a minimalist LO and I really enjoyed creating my page and love how it came out.

My Kraft cardstock was crumpled, inked, splattered and distressed and then I used some Prima pp with a script design to frame it.  I recently came across some gorgeous 7Gypsies pp's and fussy cut the sprigs as the background for my butterfly photo and softened it by added some grunged muslin.  The photo was framed with a gorgeous doily chipboard frame from Scrapware which comes in a set of 2, so I cut down one of the other frames and backed it with the 7Gypsies pp and some muslin to make a embellishment at the top of my page.  The title is a quote I love which reads:  "If nothing ever changed there'd be no butterflies".

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving some love.  Your comments really make my day :))
