Mixed Media Canvas - The Trinket Track

Hi Ladies,

I have a little mixed media canvas to share, created with some yummy embellishments from  The Trinket Track owned by the lovely Monica Brady.  Monica's store has a fabulous range of embellishments at fantastic prices, so check out the link for her store HERE.

Small Things With Great Love

I decided to have a play on this canvas background to try out a few techniques and this is the result.

First I coated the canvas with gesso, then tore up and layered some small pieces of book paper, and applied to the canvas with gesso.

To create a little texture, I added some mesh around the edges of the canvas, then layered a couple of punched lacy borders over the mesh.  I applied a little more gesso over the punched strips to soften the pp.

I made my own mist by mixing Kaisercraft paint, water, pva glue and some Perfect Pearls, which I applied over the canvas, allowing some pools to form.

Once dry, I cut out a floral stencil with my Silhouette Cameo and  masked with some texture paste.  I dried the texture paste with my heat gun and highlighted the flowers by rubbing some Shimmerz Dazzlerz in pucker up pink lightly around the flowers with my finger.

The canvas was embellished with a gorgeous wooden frame from the Trinket Track, which I gessoed, trimmed with a satin bow and a faceted rhinestone heart, then topped with a little cluster of flowers.  The butterfly charm, also from the Trinket Track, was altered with some Viva Inka Gold paste in old silver and topped with a small rhinestone heart in pink.

To finish off I printed a quote on some cardstock, and inked in black to add definition.

Trinket Track product:  wooden frame, resin rhinestone heart-clear faceted, resin rhinestone heart - pink, filigree butterfly charm.

Other product:  Canvas, gesso, Kaisercraft paint, Perfect Pearl powder, Shimmerz Dazzlerz pucker up pink, Viva Inka Gold old silver, Craft Queen satin seam binding, Petaloo organza flower, Prima blossom, berry sprig, Green Tara velvet leaves,  EK Success Abstract flower punch, Heidi Swapp sticker, Tim Holtz distress ink black soot, book paper, mesh

Thanks so much for stopping by.
