Scrap The Boys - Oct Challenge

Hi Ladies,

Thought I would give this month's challenge at Scrap the Boys a whirl.  The theme was to create a layout using a traditional BOY colour combination.
BLUE AND GREEN

I still have quite a few holiday snaps to scrap from our family trip to New Zealand, and thought I would create a LO using this photot of Luke videoing our day trip on the tourist bus which took us around Aukland.
Captured on Vacation

I started off by creating a mixed media background page.  I loved the effect of the gesso masking, with layers of mist in turquoise, blue and green and more layers of Luminarte pigments and Viva Precious Metal paints, but thought it was a bit too much as a full background.

I decided to tear out a diagonal strip from the background paper and put in a contrast paper in creamy white, which I stamped in a grunge fashion with multiple background stamps.  Over this I layered some paint circles and splats.  I also used some yummy green chevron washi tape from Craft Queen.  My scrap drawer, came in handy for the layered pp's.  I can never bear to thow out my scraps and have them stored in folders by colours for easy access.

List of Materials:  MME, Crate Paper, Bo Bunny, Basic Grey, LYB, WRMK & Prima pp's, Basic Grey frames and office tabs, chipboard cogs, Prima and MME stamps, Silhouette Cameo designs, button, Prima brad, Crafter's Workshop masks, Craft Queen chevron washi tape, Luminarte pigment powders, Lindy's Stamp Gang pigment powders, Viva Precious Metal Paints and Inka Gold, Gesso,  Tim Holtz distress inks

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I really appreciate your lovely comments.

  8. What a perfect masculine page... gorgeous colors and textures... a great idea with the tearing and gessoing... is that a word? lol To my mind, man cards and pages are a true test of creativity, as you're forced to lay aside the flowers and bows and concentrate on the layering and mediums. You've done that to perfection!!!!!
    Have a wonderful day!
