Kaisercraft DT - Back to Basics Collection

Hi everyone,
Today I am sharing Kaisercraft's 3rd Collection for May, the new "Back to Basics" range.  This fabulous collection comes in 6 colours, each with a stripe, polka dot, damask and script pattern.  You can use one colour range to create a monochromatic LO or mix and match the colours together.  There are also matching "Necessaties" Captured Moments cards in 3x4 and 4x6 which are a fabulous way to add a bit more detail and layers to your LO's.

“Enjoy the Little Things” Layout
For my first LO I was immediately drawn to the pretty pink and sea breeze pp's as they went went together so beautifully.  To soften the background I used the Moroccan Lattice Template and Derivan Light Modelling Paste, then light splattered some turquoise Kaisermist, which I mixed with a little white paint to make a pastel turquoise to match in with the pastel colours of the papers.

For my title I cut up one of the 3x4 "Necessaties" Captured Moments Cards and a Party Time Overlay... and who can resist the cute little Bee Wooden Flourishes!!  I altered them by brushing on a little of the pink Kaisermist to give them a little shimmer.

“Hello Lovely” Layout
On my second LO, I went to one of my fav colour combos, which is red, black and white.  The black and white pp's would look amazing teamed with any number of vibrant colours.... pink, aqua, yellow... so many delicious colour combos!!
To make my red misting stand out on the black background, I sponged some gesso down first, masked over the top with one of the new Damask Quarters Template, then applied the red Kaisermist with a brush to allow the masking to show through.
To make my title pop, I used the Script Words Clear Stickers on white cardstock, then cut around the stickers, making sure to leave a bit of a border.  I just had to fussy cut the damask pattern... a little fiddly, but it created a lovely border strip, once I popped it onto a bit of foam tape.

 “Butterfly” Card
A quick and easy card created by layering the beige and pink script and damask pp's and embellishing with the gorgeous "Butterfly" Decorative Die.  The Nesting Square Brackets are becoming one of my firm favourites when it comes to cardmaking.  I decided to emboss the white diecut with the "Flourish" embossing folder, and left it plain to create a little soft background for the butterfly.
