Kaisercraft Design Team 2015 Entry

 Hi All,

I can hardly believe that my year on the Kaisercraft Design Team is almost over!!  I have always been a massive Kaisercraft fan and had so much fun creating with all their gorgeous product that I have decided to try my luck a second time around.

Well, here it goes.. wish me luck!!

 “Smile Always” Layout
First up I have created a layout using the gorgeous new "Chase Rainbows" collection, which I am totally in LOVE with!!!  The vibrant colours and girly grunge feel to this range are so delicious!!
I have a serious addiction to Kaiser's Decorative Dies! They cut so beautifully and there are so many fabulous designs.  One of my favourites is the Lace Doily Decorative Die... so pretty!!
Kaisercraft have just released a range of new mists, which come in 10 gorgeous shimmery colours.  On this layout I have used the denim blue Kaisermist,  The denim mist has taken on a teal hue as it has picked up some of the colour from my masked background, which was created by mixing  together some Derivan Matisse gel medium and a green pigment powder.  I love a adding a little bling to my layouts and you can't go past Kaisercraft's Rhinestones, Sparklets and Expoy Stickers for a bit of  sparkle and shine!
Most of my creations will have some form of mixed media and stamping.  I think I have just about every Kaisercraft Texture Stamp in my stash!!! They are perfect for adding layers into your mixed media backgrounds.  I will usually mix texture stamps with stamps from a larger stamp set.  Here I have used the matching Chase Rainbows Stamp Set with the Stains Texture Stamp.

Kaiser Product: Chase Rainbows - Paper , P1806 Hue, P1812 Dye, P1814 Ablaze, SS280 12x12 Sticker Sheet, CT825 Collectables, CS213 Stamp Set, Kaisermists – KM105 Turquoise, KM106 Denim, DD504 Decorative Dies – Doilies, T604 Template – Leaves, Clear Stickers – ST915 Butterflies ST919 Script Words, ST908 Epoxy Stickers – Sea Breeze, CS162 Texture Stamp - Stains, F631 Paper Blooms – Sea Breeze, F648 Mini Paper Blooms – Sea Breeze, RS418 Sparklets – Sea Breeze, SB775 Rhinestones – Aqua Marine, PT215 Printed Tape – Chevron Mint, T303 Foam Tape, DM-1MM2M30 MM30 250ml Derivan Matisse Matt Gel Medium, DM-1MM2M10 MM10 250ml Derivan Matisse Gesso

“Leave A Little Sparkle Wherever You Go”
Altered Photo Frame
For my Beyond The Page project. I have altered a Kaisercraft 6 Frame Photo Display using the stunningly pretty "All That Glitters" collection.  This range has gorgeous foil and glitter accents which are all the rage at the moment!!  Using the Collectables and matching Captured Moments 4x6" Cards made creating this frame so easy!
The Kaisercraft Wooden Flourishes are the perfect accents for these frames, as they can be altered to suit your project and they help to create dimension.  I have used quite a few here, which I altered by using paint and Crystalina Kindyglitz.
I painted the inner frame and used some Kaisercraft Printed Tape in the Pink Damask to cover the outer frame.  To soften the appearance of the tape, I gave it a coat of light gold paint, which blends in with the gold accents from the CM cards.

As I mentioned earlier I just LOVE the Kaisercraft Decorative Dies and have used a few different ones to alter my frame.  Kaisercraft have recently released 2 new flower dies... how cute is this handmade flower, made with the Layered Flower Decorative Die!!

Kaiser Product: SB2111 BTP - 6 Frame Photo Display, All That Glitters - Paper – P1775 Glow, P1776 Dazzle, PS394 12x12 Specialty Paper - Golden Butterflies, CT822 Collectables, PP964 Paper Pad, CM326 Captured Moments 6”x 4” Cards - Sparkle, Decorative Dies – DD110 Birds and Butterflies, DD516 Vines, DD707 Layered Flowers, DD101 Lacey Borders, Wooden Flourishes – FL508 Curly Corners, FL481 Words – Live Laugh Love, FL439 Flourish Hearts, FL342 Funky Butterfly Pack, FL305 Frames, F640 Paper Blooms – Fairy Floss, EM930 Pearl Brads – Pearl, PT206 Printed Tape – Pink Damask, T303 Foam Tape, T302 Foam Dots, DMKGCR Kindy Glitz 36ml - Crystalina

“Everything Beautiful Has It’s Moment” Canvas
My last project for the Mixed Media criteria is a mixed media canvas.  I altered this canvas using papers from one of my all time favourite ranges from Kaisercraft which is the "Blue Bay" collection.  The reason I was so drawn to this range was the gorgeous aqua colour palette.  To make the aqua pop I highlighted my canvas with a touch of yellow using the new yellow Kaisermist.
To create my canvas I tore various patterned papers from the "Blue Bay" collection, which I layered onto my background using Derivan Matisse gel medium   I then coated over the top of my layers randomly with crackle medium, to add texture, but left the centre section uncrackled for my quote.  I built up the layers by stamping with various texture stamps and creating a bit more texture with some bling and mesh tape.  Lastly I used a brush to apply the turquoise and yellow Kaisermists and adhered my quote with some foam tape to make it pop.

Kaiser Product: Blue Bay - Paper - P1729 Turquoise, P1731 Misty, P1734 Placid, P1735 Saphire, P1737 Lagoon, Kaisermists – KM103 Yellow, KM105 Turquoise, T614 Template – Moroccan Lattice, Clear Texture Stamps – CS880 Windsor, CS161 Honeycomb, ST915 Clear Stickers – Butterflies, RS465 Rhinestone Flourishes Decorative Island Lagoon, RS418 Sparklets – Sea Breeze, Bling Flourish, DM-1MM2M32 Derivan Matisse Light Modelling Paste 250ml, DM-1MM2M30 MM30 250ml Derivan Matisse Matt Gel Medium, DM-1MM2M10 MM10 250ml Derivan Matisse Gesso

Kasiercraft Tuesday Tip - Embossing Folder Techniques

Hi Everyone,

Kaisercraft have just released a fab range of  Embossing Folders, so I thought I would share a couple of effective techniques that I love to use, created with an embossing folder and a couple of mediums.

Alison Bevis recently shared quite a few embossing folder techniques using your cuttlebug, but with these 2 techniques all you need is an embossing folder, cardstock and mist or texture paste.

Misting Technique

For this first technique, you will need – embossing folder, mist, and cardstock.

1  Spray one side of your embossing folder with mist
2.  Use it like a stamp and press the folder onto your cardstock. Make sure you press all over the folder and hold it down for 10-20 seconds to allow the mist to absorb into your cardstock.
3.  Lift off and you have a gorgeous watercolour image.

Texture Paste Technique

On the second technique you will need an embossing folder, water mister, texture paste, cardstock and mist. I was shown this fab technique by the lovely and talented Kim Ewins.

1.  Apply a coat of texture paste to your cardstock, then allow to sit for 5-10 mins, as you don’t want it too wet.
2.  Lightly spray one side of your embossing folder with water mister, then press down firmly, all over your embossing folder.
3.  Lift off gently. Make sure you wash your embossing folder straight away, as if the texture paste dries, your embossing folder will be ruined.
4.  Allow to dry, then mist over the top, to show off your embossed image.

You can play around with both sides of the embossing folder with these techniques, for a positive and negative image.

Have fun.

Cathy :)
