The Dusty Attic January Mood Board Challenge - Wedding Layout

Hi everyone, I am very excited to have been invited back for another term on The Dusty Attic Design Team.  Thanks so much Jennifer Hedger and Jen Burns... looking forward to another fabulous year creating with all your gorgeous chipboard designs!!

"You Will Forever be my Always"
Today I am sharing my take on this month's gorgeous Mood Board.  I was inspired by the gold and white colour palette, wedding theme and lacy accents.

Because we have so many amazing entries each month and it is so difficult to pick just one winner, there will now be TWO winners who have the chance to win a $AU50 Dusty Attic Prize Voucher to spend at the Website.  All you have to do is use the Mood Board as inspiration and make sure to add some Dusty Attic chipboard/products to your creation, then link it up to the Dusty Attic blog on the top right hand side... good luck!!

To create my background, I first applied gold mist to my paper.  I then stencilled over the gold mist using texture paste and the Creative Script Template.

The chipboard pieces were altered by coating with white paint/gesso and then a coating of gold paint.   Once dry I added touches of gold foil for an added touch of sparkle and texture.

Once the chipboard, paper accents and lace detail were applied around the gorgeous photo of my niece on her Wedding Day, I applied some of the Dress My Craft Crystal Clear Sequins to the background with random touches of gold Prills.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

The Dusty Attic June Mood Board/Sketch Challenge - Perfect Moment

Hi everyone, today I am sharing my take on this month's beautiful Mood Board/Sketch Challenge over at The Dusty Attic.  This month we have a gorgeous Mood Board and fabulous sketch from "The Nifty Pixel".

Why not enter for your chance to win a $100 gift voucher from the Dusty Attic website. All you need to do is use the Mood Board or Sketch or both for inspiration, add Dusty Attic chipboard to your creation and simply add your link with your name and country to the right hand side of the bar of the Dusty Attic Blog.

Perfect Moment

To create my layout I used this month's sketch and started by tearing a strip of the pretty Maja Designs floral paper to add to the left side of my weatherboard background paper and added sections of diecut lace paper to peak out from underneath.  I also added a small torn section to the top right.

To mask my background I used Dusty Attic Texture Paste and the gorgeous new Rose Stencil.  Once dry, I outlined the roses with Tim Holtz Spun Sugar Distress Marker, then randomly stamped over the masked area with Kaisercraft tiny dot texture stamp using Tim Holtz Distress Oxide in worn lipstick.
All chipboard designs are new releases and were altered with embossing powders in glossy pearl, matte pearl and and Nuvo witch gives a textured look.   I applied them to the chipboard pieces by priming first with gesso, and whilst wet, sprinkling with embossing powder and heat setting.

The Scrapbook Store - Bo Bunny Love and Lace

Hi Everyone,

Today I am sharing my 2nd layout created for The Scrapbook Store with the beautiful Bo Bunny "Love and Lace" Collection.  This collection is a beautiful gathering of lace, flowers and leather accents in soft dusky colours that go beautifully with projects featuring love and friendship.

For this layout I have been inspired by a gorgeous photo of my nephew's wedding, as the love theme in this range lends itself perfectly to wedding photos.

Always and Forever
I love the shabby effect of tearing and layering paper and have been using this technique quite a lot recently as it's a great way to showcase various pp's without it being too busy.  I have chosen the green tones of the Bo Bunny "Affection" and "Leather" pp's and mixed in a section of 7 Dots Studio Soulmates "Welcome to Happiness" in a pretty soft pink to add a little contrast.

The background was masked with the pretty Tim Holtz "Gothic" layering stencil and Shimmerz Texturez paste in crushed coral, then flicked over in several mist colours to add dimension.
This range comes with co-ordinating diecuts and buttons, which I have used to layer around my photo with pretty flowers from Green Tara.
I finished of the layout with a beautiful Blue Fern Studios chipboard title from the Wedding Word Set.

The Scrapbook Store - Graphic 45 Mon Amour Collection

Hi Everyone,

This month at The Scrapbook Store I am creating with the beautiful new Graphic 45 "Mon Amour" Collection.  This is my 2nd layout, again inspired by gorgeous photos taken at my nephew's wedding.

Wedded Bliss
The "Hearts Desire" diamond pp is great for cutting to create a stencil like effect or you could cut it into smaller diamond sections for another look.  I have also used the pink reverse side of this paper to create a frame around the black and cream script "True Love" pp.

How fabulous are the Green Tara Fabric Vines with their beautiful velvet textured leaves and pretty little blossoms!!  I have cut mine up into smaller sections to tuck in amongst my flower clusters, along with the red Cherry Blossoms to add a pop of colour.

This chipboard title is part of a set from Blue Fern Studios called "Wedded Word Set" which has 6 different titles and is perfect for those special wedding layouts.  I altered the chipboard by coating with Faber Castell Gesso first, then spraying with Pink Kaisermist.

To create the main flower cluster I fussy cut the label from the "My Beloved" pp and some of the roses from the "Dearest Darling" pp.

To give my tags a lacy look I embossed them with the Kaisercraft Flourish Embossing Folder.  How cute are the new mini flowers!!  I have lightly inked them in Prima old rose chalk ink to give them a little dimension.
