The Scrapbook Store - Blue Fern Frolic Collection

Hi Everyone,

Today I am sharing my fourth DT layout created with the beautiful Blue Fern Studios "Frolic" Collection for The Scrapbook Store,  I have been in heaven working with this gorgeous range of shabby chic papers!!  Check out the links to the product list below

Lovely Moments Layout
This collection has a variety of colour choices, for this LO I paired the pretty blues and sunny yellow pp's for a lovely fresh Spring feel.

The background "Petits Moments" pp was altered by masking the Crafters Workshop Art Is stencil with Prima Modeling Paste.   The edges of the pp's were randomly punched then stamped with the gorgeous IndigoBlu Rugged Edges stamp set.  To add a bit more depth, I flicked  Lindy's Stamp Gang mists randomly over the masked area.

I love to fussy cut elements from the pp's to create my own accents and have cut out some of the pretty floral sections, which I have layered with some of the new Mini Flowers and Petaloo Forget Me Nots which I softened with a touch of gesso.

The Scrapbook Store - Blue Fern Frolic Collection

Hi Everyone,

Today I am sharing my 3rd The Scrapbook Store Design Team layout created with the beautiful "Blue Fern" Frolic Collection.

"Celebrate Everyday"

This layout was inspired by Sketch #146 from Sketchabilities Challenge Site. I started by cutting two diecuts from the Kaisercraft - Decorative Dies - Lattice Background C6 in white cardstock, which I cut into smaller pieces, then adhered with glue to my background Blue Fern "Frolic" Adorn Patterned Paper .    To soften the diecuts I stamped over them with Kaisercraft - Textured Clear Stamps – Diamonds  in Prima Marketing- Fluid Chalk Edger Pad -Old Rose ink.

I cut various pp's from the collection to fit under and around my photos and used the Kaisercraft - Sanding Block  to sand the edges to reveal the white core and create softness.

Before adding the chipboard and flower embellishments, I applied IZink Pigment Ink - Jasmine  which I watered down a little to allow it to create drips.

The pp pieces, photos and chipboard were adhered with foam tape to create dimension and highlighted with Prima Marketing - Flowers - Esperanza Generosa  and Petaloo - Mini Daisy Petites - Antique Peach.  How cute are the Queen and Co - Droplets - Red !!  I randomly added a few with some of the negatives from the chipboard piece around the drips.

The Scrapbook Store - Blue Fern "Frolic" Collection

Hi Everyone,

I was so happy to find the new Blue Fern "Frolic" Collection in my parcel of goodies from The Scrapbook Store this month.  I absolutely adore their product and was very inspired by the new range... so pretty and girly!!  I also have some of their gorgeous chipboard to play with too!!

For my first layout, I was inspired by Blue Fern's September Sketch Challenge this month when creating this page.  The sketch was rotated one turn to the right.

Stencils are one of my staples when creating my LO's as I love adding mixed media to my pages.  The Scrapbook Store has a fabulous range of stencils to choose from!!  To keep in with the pretty shabby chic theme I chose one of the gorgeous Prima Floral Stencils called Poppies, which I masked with Faber-Castell - Whipped Spackle, but you could also use modelling paste or gesso for a similar effect.

Once dry I used a brush to apply the Pink Kaiser Mist around the masking, using a water mister to spritz the area before applying the Kaiser Mist for a soft watercolour effect, then lightly splattered  Lindys Stamp Gang Starburst Mist -Yellow Rose Of Texas around the masked area.

If you like the shabby chic look, distressing and tearing is a great way to alter your pp's.  Here I have used my Kaisercraft - Craft Knife to cut a slit in the top and bottom of my pp, then distressed the edges using my fingernails.  To add a little contrast to my background, I opened up the area to reveal the pp underneath.  Just cut up a sections to fit, rather than use a whole sheet of pp.

I love the new  Blue Fern  Flutter Page Dangles chipboard pack and have use one from the pack to frame my photo... you receive 3 in the pack and they all have pretty butterfly designs!!  I altered the chipboard by coating with Dina Wakely White Gesso first, then adding a layer of  Viva Decor - Croco Crackling Color - White.

To tie in with all the prettiness from the Blue Fern Studios - Frolic Secretary pp I created a cluster with the  Petaloo - Botanica Mums and Butterflies – YellowGreen Tara - 3cm Mini Roses - Pink and   Green Tara - 4.5cm Azaleas – White,   For a little softness, I distressed muslin and tucked in around the my flower clustersm then swiped a little gesso with my finger over the roses.

For my title I have used a die cut from my Cricut Expressions Machine using the reverse side of the Blue Fern Frolic "Secretary" pp.
