Dusty Attic November Mood Board Challenge

Hi everyone,

I absolutely adored creating with this month's Mood Board, as teal, aqua and green make the most beautiful colour palette, especially when combined with white... so fresh and pretty!!

"Beautiful Dreamer"

For my layout, I was inspired by the Mood Board pic of the flowers and humming bird, the script background on the dragonfly pic and all the frames and of course the beautiful colour palette.

To create my background I applied Dusty Attic Texture Paste through the Creative Script Stencil, then misted with Lindys Stamp Gang Tibetan Teal and Kaisercraft Lime Green, misting with water first, then applying the mist with a small round brush to create a watercolour effect.

Once dry, using the frames from the Mood Board as inspiration I stamped the background with the Prima stitched squares in teal Archival Ink.

For the top left and bottom right corners I cut up sections from the Ornate Frame #7, coated the pieces with gesso, then applied Dusty Attic Jungle Green acrylic paint.  Once dry I lightly flicked over with watered down Dusty Attic Texture Paste.

I repeated the same process with 1 of the corner flourishes from Corner Flourish #1 Pack.  I cut off the small inner flourish and used it to lengthen the flourish.

The Wrought Iron Fence Border was coated with gesso and altered by threading through with some green twine.

I used 2 different word packs to create my title which I altered by first coating with gesso, then misting with Lindy's Stamp Gang in Tibetan Teal.

For a little dimension and texture I altered my chipboard by adding a few Green Tara flowers and some pretty guipure lace pieces.

To finish off I watered down a little Dusty Attic Clear Gloss Varnish and flicked over my background, making sure to cover my photo.  Whilst the varnish was wet, I applied the Lettuce Entertain You Prills.

The Scrapbook Store - FabScraps Vintage Elegance and Lindy's Stamp Gang March Challenge

Hi Everyone,  This month for The Scrapbook Store, I am creating with th gorgeous 'Vintage Elegance' Collection from FabScraps.  I decided to create this LO using this month's Color Challenge at Lindy's Stamp Gang as inspiration.  The pink and blue tones of this range look like they were created just for this challenge!!

I love to create shabby chic feminine layouts, so this collection of papers is right in my wheelhouse! Pretty florals, damask and script pp's mixed with lacy chipboard and candy coloured mists... SIGH!!

Lindy's Stamp Gang March Color Challenge

All you need to do to enter is use a minimum of  2 Lindy's Stamp Gang products... (can be 2 different colours mists),  Click on the link HERE for challenge rules and details

To create my background I misted with water and applied the Blue Hawaiian Starburst Mist with a large brush for a watercolour effect.  Once dry, I flicked over the watercolour areas with Creme Brulee Cream Starburst Mist, dried this off.

I mixed the Pink Ladies Pink from the Beauty School Dropout Magical's Set with water on a non-stick craft sheet, then flicked over the watercolour areas.  I also added some flicks of the Blue Hawaiian Starburst Mist to add more dimension to the watercolour blue.  Once dry, I randomly stamped over with Kaisercraft Lattice Stamp in Watering Can Archival Ink.

I coloured the texture paste by mixing in some of the Pink Ladies Pink Magicals powder to create a gorgeous shade of pink to match my pp's.

The beautiful Dusty Attic Lacey Trims Chipboard pieces were altered by sponging with a layer of gesso and whilst Liquitex gesso is still wet, applying the Lindy's Magic Moon Pearls embossing powder, then heat setting to produce a lovely ripple effect.

The Scrapmatts Diamond Mesh Chipboard was the perfect match for the lattice in my photo of Brittany!!  I finished off by add some pretty pink seed beads for a little added texture.

The ScrapbookStore - Graphic 45 Mon Amour

Hi Everyone,

I have my last layout for the month created for The Scrapbook Store using the Graphic 45 Mon Amour Collection.

The Mon Amour Collection has an overall wedding/love theme and my 3 previous LO's were created with this in mind, but for this LO I wanted to show you that it can be used outside of this theme and went for a pretty feminine page.

To create my background I coated the AC vanilla cardstock with clear gesso, then masked the Tim Holtz Gothic Stencil with Faber Castell whipped spackle mixed with Lindy's Chateau Rose mica powder from the Tres Chic Magicals Set.  I then sprayed the masked area with Lindy's Cape Code Coral Starburst Mist, dried off, then sprayed with Lindy's Clam Bake Starburst Mist and finished off by flicking with Dylusions White Linen mist.

I have torn a section of the Dearest Darling pp to go down the centre of my page.  My photo was framed with a frame fussy cut from the Mon Amour pp, and then layered with pieces of the My Beloved pp and peach pp from the Paper and Solids 6" paper pad, which I distressed and inked in Tim Holtz Festive Berries.

I add a bit of dimension to my layers I have tucked in some of the Chipboard Tags 1.

I cut off a section of the Blue Fern Floral Spray chipboard and altered by coating with Faber Castell gesso first, then applying Lindy's Cape Cod Coral and Clambake as well as Olive Vine Twinkling H2o's with a brush.

I used the alpha stickers from the 12x12 Sticker Sheet to create my title and distressed them with the Kaisercraft Sanding block to add to the shabby chic look of my page.

Green Tara Azeleas and roses were flicked and brushed with Lindy's Cape Code Coral mist

The Scrapbook Store - Blue Fern Frolic Collection

Hi Everyone,

Today I am sharing my fourth DT layout created with the beautiful Blue Fern Studios "Frolic" Collection for The Scrapbook Store,  I have been in heaven working with this gorgeous range of shabby chic papers!!  Check out the links to the product list below

Lovely Moments Layout

This collection has a variety of colour choices, for this LO I paired the pretty blues and sunny yellow pp's for a lovely fresh Spring feel.


The background "Petits Moments" pp was altered by masking the Crafters Workshop Art Is stencil with Prima Modeling Paste.   The edges of the pp's were randomly punched then stamped with the gorgeous IndigoBlu Rugged Edges stamp set.  To add a bit more depth, I flicked  Lindy's Stamp Gang mists randomly over the masked area.

I love to fussy cut elements from the pp's to create my own accents and have cut out some of the pretty floral sections, which I have layered with some of the new Mini Flowers and Petaloo Forget Me Nots which I softened with a touch of gesso.

Tresors de Luxe January Challenge

Hi Everyone,

I came across this gorgeous mood board for Tresors de Luxe January Challenge  and thought I would give it a go.  Tresors de Luxe are an Etsy shop which sell to die for laces, trinkets embellishments and flowers.

This LO of my nephew's beautiful wife was created a few months back and I hadn't gotten around to sharing it.  The colours were a perfect match for this mood board, so I decided to tweak it by adding various pieces of gorgeous lace from my stash, a bit of bling and a few embellishments.

CSI #121 - Love Documented

When I read the criteria for the Testimony on this week's case file I spied the word home.  I immediately thought of an old photo of my children taken on the front veranda of our home.

I think they were about 11 and 9 years old here.  We had just returned from a trip to the Philippines and this was the 1st time we had ever been away from them.  I didn't realise how much I would miss them until I was away from them, and I was so happy to be home. Upon entering our driveway this is what greeted us.  Luke and Brittany were so excited that we were coming home that they made a welcome home sign for us.  It had me all teary thinking they must have missed us as much as we missed them.  This is one of those memories that melts my heart every time I think about it.
