My 3rd Palette for TCR - RDA

RDA - TCR #39
This is my 3rd palette for my stint as a Revolving Door Artist at The Colour Room. Absolutely adored this colour palette... right up my alley, as I love using vibrant colours. Masked some creamy white Basic Grey paper with orange paint and a Basic Grey lace doily then added some hessian which I cut up and distressed. The white cardstock is misted with blue and green glimmer mist... such a shame the glimmer doesn't show in the pictures as it's so pretty.
This palette is perfect for those gorgeous Summer holiday pics!! Have a browse of TCR's photo gallery and be inspired to have a go at this gorgeous palette.

Wishing you all a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
I would like to wish everyone a happy, safe and wonderful New Year for tomorrow. If you're partying tonight hope you have a fabulous time bringing in the New Year :)

I would also like to give a heartfelt thank you to all my fabulous scrapping friends who have taken the time throughout the year to leave such gorgeous comments on my work. It really makes scrapping that much more enjoyable when you receive beautiful comments from people you admire in the scrapping community, and thanks so much for letting me get to know you all and make some wonderful online friends.

Oh How Time Flies

1,2,3 Challenge

Trying to fit in a few challenges before the end of the month. This is my LO for the 1,2,3 challenge which was:

Colour: Pink

Word: Oh

Technique: tissue paper

Used some pink patterned tissue paper for the background with the title "Oh How Time Flies" and of course lots of pink. Played around a bit with textures and used some gauze, hand made textured mulberry paper and lace as background for my photo. The journaling reads "My beautiful Brittany, where has the time gone? I can't believe you are already 15 years old. You have turned into such a lovely young woman and I am so very proud of you. Love Mum".

A Little Catch Up Post

I hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas with their families and friends. I am finally coming up for air after all the festivities. My sister was with us over Christmas and left last night. Just finished a bit of a clean up and now I have time to fit in a little post before we are off again to visit with family.

TCR #38

This is the 2nd of my Revolving Door Artist LO's for The Colour Room. A bit of a challenge for me, but I liked how it came out... luckily for me there was terracotta in this palette, so I had a bit of colour to work with. Managed to find some pp's in my stash that fit the palette and added a bit of lace and bling and some splashes of silver and terracotta paint.

Used one of my fav pics of Brittany at Christmas last year. I love this pic because she looks so pretty and girly in her gorgeous dress... I think I have mentioned before that Brittany is a bit of a tomboy and she just doesn't wear dresses, but made an exception for Christmas. This Christmas I nearly fainted with joy when she asked me if we could go shopping for a dress for Christmas Day and she purchased not 1 but 2 dresses!!!!! Shopping is another one of those girly things that she doesn't like... so I was very chuffed that she was OK about being seen out and about with her mum... really made my Christmas!!!

If you have a little time, go and have a browse in The Colour Room photo gallery... I'm sure you'll be inspired to try a palette or two.

I hope to have a little time to get in a few more challenges before the end of the month... fingers & toes crossed!!

I've Been Good

Scrap the Girls - Dec Challenge

It's been a mad house around here!! Had some family visitors who just left this morning... so I finally managed a quick LO for STG, as I have been out of action for a little while!!

Normally I would have chosen the purple & yellow or orange and blue colour combos, but I just took these pics of Brittany being silly in her Santa hat and just had to scrap them, so I went with the red and green. The crochet flowers are from Becci Sundberg... aren't they just gorgeous and the glitter frame overlay is from LYB.

We've had so much rain here. The last 2 days were gorgeous and sunny and now the rain has started up again today... oh well at least it will be cool while I'm getting some Christmas baking done.

Wishing everyone a wonderful Christmas filled with happiness, love and lots of laughter!!

SO EXCITED!!!

I

Received the most exciting news a week ago which I have had to keep to myself until today... I was asked by the girls at The Colour Room to be a Revolving Door Artist for palettes 37-40, which means having my work featured for 4 weeks. I was absolutely flabbergasted when I read the email, as it was so unexpected. I'm a little apprehensive as the caliber of the work on TCR is so amazing... but I have been telling myself that getting out of my comfort zone is a good thing when it comes to scrapping.

Joining me as an RDA is the gorgeous Belinda Spencer, who has the most amazing talent. Congrats Belinda, I know you are as excited as I am and I can't wait to see your beautiful creations!!!

TCR #37 - Simply Delightful

This weeks #37 palette is a soft pastel theme which was bit of a challenge for me as I love bright and bold colours. I chose various pp's from Fancy Pants, Shabby Green Door & MM, some stamping and hand cut elements. Finished off with a little cluster of Prima flowers, a few butterflies with a touch of bling for a bit of dimension.

Thank you so very much girls for inviting me in to the Colour Room... so honoured and very excited to share my interpretations of your fabulous colour palettes and I hope that I can inspire a few people along the way.

If you have a little spare time go and check out the gallery at TCR, I'm sure you'll be blown away by all the gorgeous creations here and hopefully you'll be inspired to have a go at this weeks palette.

Christmas Craziness!!!

TCR #36

Busy busy busy at the moment and with Christmas just around the corner, it's a mad house around here.  I'm sure you are all going through the same thing.  I'm hoping with all the stress I will lose a few kilos so I can enjoy Christmas guilt free!!!!!  Don't even want to think of all that I still have to do, but at least most of the Christmas shopping is done.... just a few pressies to go and the rest of them are Christmas baking for neighbours and friends.

Managed to find time in between for this weeks TCR palette.  The palette was a bit more subdued... but I still loved it!  Decided on an outdoor photo of Brittany as my inspiration for this palette.  Used some gorgeous Websters which I hand cut and a lovely Websters tree.  The music sheet is from an old music book which Luke managed to finagle for me when he did his work experience at a Music Store this year and the satin flowers are some old Prima flowers which I absolutely adore!!  One of the flowers looks burgundy in this pic, but it's actually brown.

KIU CT CALL

Fingers Crossed

Decided to send in an application for KIU CT as I am a big fan of this challenge site!! Here are the LO's I submitted...  fingers crossed!!

Used some gorgeous SL Mix and Mend pp's which I hand cut then added quite a few other elements to add a bit more dimension to the LO.  There are some chipboard flowers, crochet and hand dyed doilies, a gorgeous ribbon rose, rubons, gingham, buttons, MS punched butterflies and some machine stitching.

Went for a bit of a grunge look on this LO of Luke and of course my fav technique ATM... paint. Used some BG Kraft & mixed pp's from different brands with various embellies.  The little peek-a-boo was made with a Tim Holtz stamp on acetate.  I also recycled the piece of ribbon and tag from a KMart expression brand of clothing and MS & EK Success punches.

No Way

The Colour Room #35
Once again, I loved the vivid colour palette for TCR challenge 35.  Decided to create a grungy teen LO as I usually do girly LO's for the colour room.  This is a pic I took of Luke last Christmas Eve. Whilst I was clicking away I was trying to get some hints on my Chrissie present out of Luke.  The title reads "No Way - not telling mum" and the journal spot reads & Then He Said "OK just a little hint, but don't tell dad".
Used BG basics for my background with paint and Prima rubons and the yellow pp I hand cut  from some old Prima then added some cogs from Scrapmatts.  Also used some Sass Lass, Bo Bunny and a Cosmo journal spot.  The bingo card is made with a Tim Holtz stamp and the star punch is from Martha Stewart.
Exciting News!!
Just received an email from Scrapbooking memories that another of my LO's has been accepted for publication... SO EXCITED!!!

Christmas Cutie

Kraft It Up - December

Had fun using some gorgeous bright colours for the challenge at KIU this month, which was to create a Christmas LO using Kraft (of course), non-traditional Christmas colours and knots somewhere on your LO.   I thought I would use these pics from a couple of Christmases ago as the colours were so non-Christmassy!!!

Decided to go for bright blue, hot pink and black for my LO and bordered it with hand stitching and french knots in hot pink twine.

WW1 - Dec Challenge

We had a fabulous response to last months WW1.  There were so many gorgeous entries and it was so so difficult to choose the winners!!!  This month at WW1 the challenge is white + grey + masking... pop on over and check out the CT creations, they are absolutely gorgeous... so many fabulous masking techniques!!!

Decided to mask the background of my LO with white paint and a BG doily which created a lovely soft lacy look.  A large scalloped circle in LYB pp to frame my photo and some doily lace with flowers and bling centres to tie in with the lacy look.  The flower cluster was made from a necklace which I pulled apart to reuse and added some Prima bling to glitz it up and a couple of pearl heart pins.  I stamped the journal spot for my title with a Tim Holtz stamp and also stamped the butterfly with a gorgeous Darkroom Door stamp in grey ink.  Finished off with a bit of ribbon and a bit more bling.

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving some love :)

The Colour Room #34

Here is my Colour Room # 34 LO.  This colour palette was absolutely gorgeous... 2 of my favourite colours teal and red are in this one... such fabulous contrasts!!

Finally got around to using one of the new Pink Paislee House of 3 gorgeous resist papers and inked it in teal and green brilliance inks.  The flowers were hand cut from MME So Sophie pp and the red c/s was embossed with Cuttlebug script folder.  The gorgeous dress form is from Scrapmatts... I tied some red twine around the waist and added a Prima flower centre and some tiny feathers. Added the Websters flower ribbon for a gorgeous pop of colour, touch of lace and a few glittered butterflies from Ruby Rock It, then finished off with some Scarlet glimmer mist.

There is a great tutorial at Annas Craft Cupboard by Nic Pomeroy on how to use the new Pink Paislee resist papers.

Challenge Heaven - New Challenges

Well the new challenges are up for the month at Challenge Heaven... so go and check them out for some wonderful inspiration... so many to choose from!!!

Here are my DT LO's for this month:

Theme Challenge

This month's theme challenge was Grandparents and you also had to use Kraft as your base.  Well  I had to dig around to find a photo and came up with an old one of Brittany and Luke with their Gran so my title was "Grandmas hold our tiny hands for just a little while, but our hearts forever". Used some BG Kraft for my base and ripped and distressed the Fancy Pants pp so you could see more of the Kraft base, teamed with some lovely Prima pp's and a gorgeous flower to keep it soft and pretty.

Word Challenge

This month's challenge was to use the word "Sunshine" in your title and to use 4 pp's.

Loved using these bright & happy pp's.  The 4 I chose were the new MME Fine & Dandy, October Afternoon, Bo Bunny and My Little Shoebox.  My title reads "You are my little ray of Sunshine".  I decided to silhouette the photo of Brittany to make it stand out, then added some hand dyed doilies and pleated the punched border for some texture and finished off with some hand-stitching.
